Overview of REPP Sports Raze
REPP Sports burst onto the supplement scene in 2017 with their new line of hardcore supplements in the form of a pre-workout, fat burner, muscle builder, PCT and Phenibut – which we are about to talk about. REPP Sports is all about pushing you to your limits by using the highest quality of ingredients in their products while eliminating any harmful substances you might find in others. The brand has a great look and image to carry it into the future.
Raze is a hit-you-hard fat burner that you know is working (you can feel it in your stomach). That is something you do not get from a lot of OTC fat burners on the market. Raze utilizes some common ingredients you find in fat burners like caffeine anhydrous and cayenne pepper, but it also leverages DMHA (a newer form of DMAA) to help speed up metabolism and fat loss. Overall this is one of the more effective fat burners (OTC) that we’ve taken and it comes at a very attractive price.
Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed REPP Sports Raze on four categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this fat burner. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.
We then look at the dosage of the fat burner. Are they using the ingredients at effective doses? It’s one thing to select awesome ingredients, it’s another to make sure they are being dosed where they are meant to be effective.
We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that the fat burner will be.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, dosage, and effectiveness in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of fat burners on the market.
REPP Sports Raze is a proprietary blend thermogenic designed to increase your body’s temperature and “melt your face off” aka melt your fat off. Raze uses some very common ingredients when it comes to fat burners like caffeine, which speeds up metabolism. It also utilizes DMHA, which is essentially caffeine on overdrive. It is the second coming of DMAA. If you are familiar with USP Labs OxyElite (those who have been around awhile know about this) so many brands were trying to capitalize on the success of that product. DMHA is something similar to what was used in OxyElite.
Raze also uses Bitter Orange (Citrus Aurantium Extract), which has similar attributes to that of ephedra, this it’s popularity in fat burning supplements. You also get Macuna Pruriens Extract aka L-DOPA. Studies have shown that individual’s with Parkinson’s disease benefit but L-DOPA but it is also the reason they lose weight. The supplement industry is capitalizing on these studies to get the same effects for you and me. Cayenne pepper is an ingredient used in Raze as well. You can actually feel this in your system when you take it. Cayenne pepper is used as it increases your body’s temperature and literally melts away fat.
Outside of your fat burning ingredients, Raze uses cognitive enhancing ingredients like Acetyl L-Tyrosin, Choline Bitartrate and Hordenine HCI. Collectively these will reduce stress (stress causes metabolism to slow), improve cognitive agility and speed up your metabolism by stimulating the central nervous system.
Overall the ingredients used in Raze are shown to increase body temperature while increasing metabolism. The two things you look for in a thermogenic.
Raze is a proprietary blend, which means we do not know the actual dosages used in this product. Obviously we are not going to look at the 698mg blend like a pre-workout where we’d expect 300mg of that to be Caffeine Anhydrous and 175mg to be DMHA. There are not any studies behind DMHA for fat loss regarding dosage anyway. The same can be said for another ingredient like Hordenine HCI. Research shows that Acetyl L-Tyrosine can be taken up to 2000mg before exercise for effectiveness so we know that this is most likely under dosed on that key ingredient.
I hate to make assumptions but I would assume that this product, like many others in the proprietary blend market, is under dosed in certain areas. Unfortunately without full transparency and up-to-date research on ingredients used it is hard to say that with 100% validity.
As I mentioned earlier you can literally feel Raze go to work in your system. Within minutes of taking you feel your stomach essentially heat up and it feels like it’s on fire. To some you may be concerned but for me I knew it was the cayenne pepper going to work like it should. You can also feel a sense of increased awareness and energy from the caffeine and the DMHA. I took this while going through a cut stage. In collaboration with a workout program and a strict diet Raze helped me achieve lowering my body fat from 17% to 14.% overall. I will say for the first couple of weeks I just did one-serving per day. For the last week and a half I did two servings per day to see the difference. Each time I took a serving I could feel it go to work. For me, based on my results and the feeling I got from it, Raze is an effective OTC thermogenic.
Other hardcore fat burners at 30-servings retail for around $40 a bottle. Raze comes in at $35 a bottle for 45-servings. For a product that I felt was very effective (at least the physical feeling I got and the change in body composition) $35 makes it one of the best value thermogenic products on the market today. There are some look-a-like products out there that are similar to the fat burners of old (the good stuff) that retails around the same price point but it is using ingredients that are under fire in the eyes of the FDA. Currently Raze isn’t using any ingredients like that…for now.
