Overview of Cratus Labs Cardarine (GW-501516)
Cratus Labs is a company that provides many research chemicals like SARMs and nootropics. Cratus has the backing of many high respected people in the fitness industry as a legit company. We here at Fitness Informant can vouch for that as well. We’ve reviewed many SARMs from the company. This time around, we were ready to review something different.
Cardarine(GW-501516) is a PPARδ agonist, not a SARM. Let’s get that straight first. Cardarine is so effective that it was banned by many sporting agencies due to its ability to enhance endurance. Since it activates the PPARδ, it has many positive side effects like increased metabolism, brain health and increased muscle growth. Overall, Cardarine is an effective supplement with a multitude of studies backing it’s use.
Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed Cratus Labs Cardarine (GW-501516) on four categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this endurance boosting/fat burning supplement. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.
We then look at the dosage of the muscle building supplement. Are they using the ingredients at effective doses? It’s one thing to select awesome ingredients, it’s another to make sure they are being dosed where they are meant to be effective.
We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, dosage, and effectiveness in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of fat burning supplements on the market.
Cardarine (GW-501516) is a PPARδ agonist, not a SARM, but it does work in very similar ways. Cardarine has many benefits, included are:
- Brain protectant
- Heart health
- Prevents obesity with increased metabolism
- Protects the kidneys
- Improves immune system
- Protects against liver damage
- Improved blood flow
- Enhanced endurance
The two bold statements above are the reason those in the bodybuilding communit take Cardarine. It’s the reason why we tested it. Multiple studies back the safety of Cardarine and the effectiveness.
Cardarine is great for improving endurance and stamina, while literally melting fat (non-catabolic).
Regarding negative side effects, a lot of “rumors” have gone around that GW-501516 increases the chances of cancer in the body. However, this has not been proven. In fact, the American Cancer Society in 2004 stated:
…Shown to have no effect on the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells and “…under normal culture conditions, PPAR activation has no effect on cell growth”.
It is important to note, however, that the WADA has added Cardarine to the list of banned substances.
Some websites will tell you that the dosage should be 2mg per day. Others will tell you between 10mg-20mg per day. The proper protocol should be to start with 10mg per day. From there you can up it to 20mg per day, but do note exceed.
Cratus Labs Cardarine is 10mg per capsule, recommended to be taken twice per day. See above. The capsules are properly dosed to provide the benefits of Cardarine.
I ran Cardarine when I decided I wanted to shed a bunch of body fat for our company photo shoot. Mind you, I had not done cardio (outside of competitive sports games) for years! This was the first time I was looking to cut seriously while introducing cardio back into my regime.
I started taking Cardarine to help with my endurance and stamina. I increased my reps from 8-10 to 12-15. I then inserted 20-30 minutes of stair master cardio after EACH lift day. I lift 6-days a week. Over the course of a month, I lost 20 pounds and shed 9% body fat. I can vouch that Cardarine helped me get through some of those rough cardio days (I had limited carbs, less than 50g per day).
Cardarine also helped me get into the best shape of my life. Check out the photos on the About section of Fitness Informant. I would highly recommend Cardarine if you’re looking to cut.
*Note: if you supplement with Cardarine and are part of an athletic commission, you could fail a test. Proceed with caution.
Cardarine is $69 a bottle. It works. A lot of OTC fat burners are $35-$50 a bottle and do nothing for you, except raise your body temperature to trick you into thinking they work. (Note: there are some effective fat burners on the market.)
I would spend $69 for 30-day supply of Cardarine any day of the week knowing what I know now. It is worth the full $70!
