GAIA Super Fruits and Greens is made up of dehydrated/dried fruits and greens. I say greens because it is not all what we would consider vegetables. On top of that, you are also getting 100% of your daily intake on certain vitamins (Vitamin A, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, D3 and K1).
GAIA contains five different sources of fruits. You get Pineapple Juice Powder (also contains Bromelain which is used for reducing inflammation), Bilberry, Papaya, Camu Camu and Monk Fruit. Pineapple Juice Powder might not have a ton of benefits, but the other four do. Bilberry, per WebMD, is used in medicines to improve eye sight, improve chronic fatigue and improving blood flow. Papaya (also included in this is Papain) has been shown to help breakdown proteins for your body to use. Camu Camu has more Vitamin C than any other food on the planet and it is used to treat viral infections like the common cold. Monk Fruit is typically used as natural sweetener but has been used to treat lung congestion.
GAIA contains three vegetable sources. The first is Broccoli Extract. Then you get Carrot Powder. Finally you get Purple Sweet Potato. All the health benefits you get from these are in powder form for you to consume.
GAIA also contains FOS (Fructooligosaccharide), which is found in foods like onion, garlic and bananas. FOS, according to the NCBI, is used in a lot of foods as a prebiotic to help with digestion.
GAIA contains a source of algae in Chlorella. Chlorella is used to increase good bacteria in the body, help fight against cancer, reduce cholesterol and more. It is an antioxidant used to improve overall health.
GAIA also includes Calcium Pyruvate, which helps with weight loss and obesity and Acai, which has antioxidant properties.
Overall, GAIA uses a nice profile of various ingredients that are beneficial to your overall health.

A fruits and greens formula is hard to tell if it is effective or not. Unlike a pre-workout supplement, you don’t really “feel” the effects of this taking place in your body. My overall health while taking GAIA was great. I took it at the end of summer. I did not experience any changes in body temperature, any congestion in my chest, no head colds or chest colds or no illnesses what-so-ever.
My diet did not contain enough greens at the time, so I choose to use GAIA. Overall, whole fruits and greens would be better than a supplement, but if you’re having trouble consuming enough then this is a solid option.

Flavor: Peach Mango
After reading the profile and seeing that GAIA contains Carrots, Sweet Potato, Acai, Chlorella, Camu Camu, etc you might think this tastes gross. The fact is the Monk Fruit used in this as a benefit to your health also helps sweeten the drink. The mango peach was solid. It masked out any taste you'd expect to have...especially when you're drinking something containing algae. Overall, the taste was very good.

The serving size of GAIA is 11.5g. The recommended amount of water to use is 8-12 ounces. That is about right. GAIA mixed very well. I would have some purple residue left over after drinking it, but you need to remember we are talking about dried foods here, they will not be fully water soluble. I have had pre-workouts that were much worse than this.

Value is going to be subjective here. If you consume enough fruits and greens in your whole foods diet then you would not need this. This becomes more valuable to those who DO NOT consumer enough fruits and greens. This is something you can take with you on the go and drink on the run. A 30-serving container retails for $39.99 online. If you can find a sale on it then it becomes more valuable. There are competitors out there that retail for $29.99, with the same fruits and greens concept. However, those formulas do not contain as much as this. Does that justify a $10 difference? I don't believe it does, but as I mentioned earlier, if you can get a coupon for 10-20% off (you will find sales) then this is a solid selection for your fruits and greens. I really enjoyed them.
