Overview of ProSupps MyCookie

ProSupps, makers of damn near everything, has been around since I can remember in this industry. They made a splash when they released Mr. Hyde, their popular pre-workout powder. They are back again, this time, with a protein cookie.

is an awesome change of pace from your traditional protein bar, but they don’t compete directly (in my opinion). The MyCookie we tried was Carrot Cake and it was unreal. High in carbs and high in sodium could make some weary, but it did not bother me. If you’re looking for a healthy treat that is an alternative to protein bars, give the MyCookie a shot today! Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed ProSupps MyCookie on four categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at quality of protein used in the protein bars and amount, macros and other ingredients involved in the making of this protein bar.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to try the following flavors: Carrot Cake.

Texture is important in a protein bar selection. We review the texture as well. We discuss chalkiness, chewiness, softness and crunch.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, taste and texture in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of protein bars available on the market.

Ingredients Profile

(7/10)

When we look at the ingredients, we need to look at the macros as well as the ingredients used, specially the carb source and the protein, to make the MyCookie. So, what are we waiting for…let’s get into it!

The MyCookie starts with brown rice flour. We would rather see this than wheat flour or typical flour we use in baking.

Then, the big part, the protein. Protein is derived from whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. These are two solid protein sources to make the MyCookie. I like the use of WPC and WPI instead of milk protein.

MyCookie, the Carrot Cake flavor, uses white chocolate chunks (which are great but we will discuss this later), but it does include sugar in these, and in the bar. The overall sugar content per cookie is 7g. This is rather high for a cookie at 80g when some protein bars are larger (88g) and have less than 4g of sugar. With that said, it is to be expected due to the carrot cake flavor and the white chocolate chunks.

Overall, in terms of ingredients used, there is nothing I would deem as questionable in the MyCookie. I like the carb source and like the protein source.

Regarding the macros, here they are:

Calories: 290
Protein: 18g
Fat: 8g
Carbohydrates: 36g

Fats and carbs are higher than your typical protein bar, while protein content is lower, not to mention the cookie is smaller in terms of size compared to some large size protein bars.

Overall, I don’t mind the macros, but would prefer the fats to come down and protein to go up. With that said, these are great during your bulk session!

Taste

Carrot Cake: (9/10)

My Grandmother used to make carrot cake all the time when I was a kid. I wouldn’t touch it. But this MyCookie…WOW! What I like best about it is that it is so different than your typical chocolate, birthday cake, cookies and cream, etc bars on the market. Carrot cake literally tastes just like a piece of cake my Grandmother would make (yes, I tried it at least once and it was really good…thanks Grandma!) Not only does the flavor taste like carrot cake it also tastes really good.

The MyCookie is also better tasting than the Lenny and Larry’s cookies on the market as well. The flavor is true to taste. If you like carrot cake, you’re going to love this.

Texture

(9/10)

We’ve all had warm, fresh baked cookies straight from the oven. These are not as soft as those. However, they are more soft than a chocolate chip cookie that has been sitting for a couple days. They are chewy and feel fresh (assuming you eat them fresh).

The white chocolate chunks are a nice feature to this cookie. It adds to the texture and the overall experience of the cookie.

Value

(7/10)

You get 12 cookies in a box with ProSupps MyCookie. A box retails for around $24. That means you are paying $2 a cookie. Compare this to other protein treats on the market, and take into consideration the macros, this is a bit higher. You can get a box of 12 protein bars for $20-$25 that have 20g of protein per bar and more friendly macros.

With that said, there is a value to be placed on taste and texture which is better on the MyCookie than most, if not all, protein bars. Plus, sometimes you just want a change of pace and move away from the protein bar.

Overall, the cookie doesn’t carry as high of a value as a bar, but it’s still worth it to try it out and change it up!
