The Nutrition Store’s Enjoy the Ride Pre-Workout: A Better Store Brand Supplement

RYSE

Enjoy The Ride is an in-house pre-workout from The Nutrition Store, a supplement retailer based out of South Carolina. The owners of The Nutrition Store inject their own personality into the pre-workout, along with an efficacious profile.

Typically, in-house branded products from supplement retailers are underdosed hidden behind proprietary blends. This product takes a different approach. From top to bottom, the profile is quite impressive and holds its own against many other products on the market.

The Nutrition Store Enjoy The Ride

enjoy the ride labelEnjoy the Ride may be an in-house brand from The Nutrition Store, but it does not encompass in-house tactics. The profile is quite impressive with key ingredients used for energy, pump and and focus.

Beta-Alanine – 3.2g

The first ingredient in Enjoy The Ride is Beta-Alanine, which is no surprise. Beta-Alanine is pretty much the most common ingredient in pre-workouts these days. While many simply take Beta-Alanine for the paresthesia, it actually has benefits beyond the “tingles”.

Beta-Alanine to put it simply, buffers lactic acid during exercise. This means it may aid in overall endurance. It is a saturation based ingredient, so we recommend supplementing with it on off days as well.

At 3.2 grams, Beta-Alanine is dosed correctly in Enjoy The Ride.

Citrulline Malate (1:1) – 6g

Next we have Citrulline Malate, which is also a very popular ingredient in pre-workouts. Citrulline Malate may aid in endurance and recovery according to a study. Citrulline converts to Arginine in the body, which is a precursor to nitric oxide.

With that said, you can expect a pump out of Citrulline Malate, and it’s almost expected to see in pre-workouts these days. At 6g, it is dosed well.

GlyerPump™ – 1g

GlycerPump™ has been gaining in popularity over recent months, and we love seeing it in pre-workouts. It aids in cellular hydration, and can really aid in pumps and performance. It’s recommended that you drink extra water with this ingredient as well.

While the average amount of Glycerol Monostearate has gone up, 1g should be noticeable for many.

Sea Salt – 1g

Salt has been making its way into more and more pre-workouts these days. In fact, we add it to pre-workouts ourselves sometimes, even if it affects the taste. Salt is critical for hydration, meaning it can aid in muscle contractions and pumps.

1 gram of it can certainly make a huge difference, so it’s a solid addition.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom Powder – 750mg

Next up we have Lion’s Mane, which is a mushroom. There are a wealth of benefits that are associated with Lion’s Mane, and it is great to see in here. It has been shown to be beneficial for cognition in doses at 750mg, and there are other benefits as well.

At 750mg, it is dosed well in Enjoy The Ride.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 175mg

What kind of pre-workout doesn’t have Caffeine in it? Well this is a no-brainer. We all know what Caffeine does but if you’ve somehow forgotten, it boosts energy levels.

175mg is on the low end for many pre-workouts these days, however the next ingredient is another form of Caffeine, so it completes this.

Di-Caffeine Malate – 175mg

Now we have Di-Caffeine Malate, which is a sustained-release form of Caffeine. This means that the energy hits you slowly as opposed to immediately. Di-Caffeine Malate is 75% Caffeine, so you’re getting about 131mg of Caffeine.

Altogether you’re getting about 306mg of Caffeine in here, which is a solid amount.

N-Phenyldimethylamine (Eria Jarensis) – 300mg

Eria Jarensis is an exotic stimulant that increases dopamine and noradrenaline in the body. While we don’t expect to see this ingredient on the market for a long time, it is certainly enjoyable.

300mg of this is on the high side, so this pre-workout will certainly hit hard.

TeaCrine® (40%) – 150mg

TeaCrine® is structurally similar to Caffeine, and is commonly found in energy supplements. Oddly enough, TeaCrine® can actually have a sedative effect when taken at higher doses. It is great for long-lasting energy and helps prevent crashes from Caffeine.

The 150mg is 40% actual TeaCrine®, so you’re getting 60mg of TeaCrine®, which is a solid amount.

Dynamine™ (40%) – 150mg

Dynamine™ is similar ot TeaCrine®, as it aids in energy and focus. However unlike TeaCrine®, it hits you quicker. Both ingredients are from Compound Solutions.

The 150mg is 40% actual Dynamine™, so you’re getting 60mg of Dynamine™, which is a solid amount.

Isopropylnorsynephrine – 25mg

Isopropylnorsynephrine is a stimulant that you’ll find in pre-workouts these days. Not much is known about it yet, but it certainly provides a powerful punch. It has potential to be a powerful fat burner, however more research needs to be done.

At 25mg, it is dosed well in Enjoy The Ride.

Final Takeaway

Both Ryan and Gerhard received a unit from The Nutrition Store to test out. These are the quick hit notes from them.

Ryan:

Honestly, I really enjoyed this pre-workout. Let’s start with flavor, Margarita. I thought I would get an alcohol taste to it, but we didn’t. This is a good thing. It is a lemon-lime flavor, and it is delicious.

In terms of effectiveness, I used it several times and had great workouts each time. I made sure to use it on the hardest of days, leg day, along with push and pull. You have solid focus, great energy without the crash and a decent pump.

This goes above and beyond for a house brand. The team needs to expand flavors on this and try to get it out to more retailers. It is a solid formula that delivers well on focus, energy and pump.

Gerhard:

This pre-workout performs quite well, and it’s nice to see a small brand make something cool. The look of the product is quite fun, and it can certainly create a good connection between the creators and their consumers.

It only comes in one flavor that we know of, and that is “Margarita Flavor”. It is essentially a lemon-lime flavor, and is refreshing. While there are some things I’d like to see changed, I still enjoyed my run with it, and it actually has me interested in the owners.

enjoy the ride
