MuscleTech Euphoriq Pre-Workout

MuscleTech has launched a new FDM (Food, Drug, Mass) version of their Euphoriq pre-workout. While companies traditionally water down those formulas to make a price point that makes sense for the retailer, MuscleTech made slight tweaks to ensure a better price, but a formula that will still work well.

Users will notice that the FDM version of Euphoriq doesn't include nooLVL, but they still get full dosages of NeuroFactor, added Alpha-GPC, Huperzine A and Tyrosine alone with the staple of 300mg enfinity Paraxanthine.

MuscleTech Euphoriq Pre-Workout FDM Version Supplement Facts

MuscleTech tweaked the formula on Euphoriq for major retailers like Walmart, but don’t be alarmed, they didn’t water it down. The formula features the removal of NooLVL and the reduction of Alpha-GPC but it does add Yohimbine. The formula is still anchored by Paraxanthine and is still available in a 20-serving unit.

MuscleTech Euphoriq SFP FDM VersionCitrulline – 4g

Citrulline is the precursor to Arginine in the body. This means after it is ingested it converts to Arginine inside the body which then increases Nitric Oxide production. This, in turn, will widen and relax blood vessels and improve blood flow to the muscles. This helps with the look of the pump, but also bringing nutrient rich blood to the muscles to help with repair and recovery.

The 4g dosage is right between the 3-5g recommended serving size.

Beta-Alanine – 3.2g

Beta-Alanine is one of the most popular ingredients used in pre-workouts. It is popular because it is well studies, well backed and it gives consumers a “feeling” that they know they just took a pre-workout. That feeling is called paresthesia, the tingling of the skin. This is not the primary benefit of Beta-Alanine.

Beta-Alanine actually can buffer lactic acid which may reduce muscle soreness. In turn, Beta-Alanine can improve muscular endurance allowing you to go longer in the gym.

The 3.2g serving size is acceptable.

Betaine Anhydrous – 2.5g

Betaine, another common ingredient found in pre-workout formulas, is used at 2.5g; a great dosage. Betaine has several benefits being used in a pre-workout formula. The biggest benefit of Betaine is its ability to enhance muscle endurance, strength, and power output. Betaine can also aid in hydration which is beneficial to any type of exercise.

Taurine – 1g

Taurine has been used in pre-workouts for various reasons. In recent years we are finding Taurine used more and more to aid in exercise output. Taurine can aid in regulating electrolytes which can improve performance. Taurine can also help alleviate side effects of stimulants like caffeine, although this formula is technically caffeine free.

Tyrosine – 500mg

Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that has been used in pre-workouts for its ability to improve cognition. Tyrosine is dosed north of 1g per serving on most pre-workout powders now, especially if they do not contain other nootropic ingredients, but this version of Euphoriq does contain Alpha-GPC (more later). The 500mg dosage of Tyrosine could be higher but it will compliment the Alpha-GPC used.

efinity (Paraxanthine) – 300mg

MuscleTech is the brand that championed Paraxanthine into the market. Paraxanthine is a metabolite of caffeine. Caffeine is comprised of Paraxanthine (about 84%), Theobromine (12%) and Theophylline (4%). Paraxanthine is said to be the metabolite to provide the benefits of caffeine, but without the potential of negative side effects. This formula contains 300mg of Paraxanthine. To get that amount in caffeine you’d need approximately 357mg caffeine to yield 300mg Paraxanthine.

Paraxanthine can enhance physical performance by increasing muscle contraction efficiency, improving endurance, and reducing perceived effort during exercise. In addition to providing “energy”, Paraxanthine can improve cognition and focus. Paraxanthine can also positively impact mood.

Alpha-GPC – 150mg

Alpha-GPC is a choline molecule that has aided in improved cognition for many years. We see the dosage of Alpha-GPC anywhere from 150mg to 600mg (depending on the yield.) This is 1/2 the dosage of the original Euphoriq, which is still available. Alpha-GPC at 150mg and Tyrosine at 500mg, combined with Paraxanthine should aid in improving focus and alertness. Alpha-GPC works by increasing acetylcholine levels, a neurotransmitter essential for memory and learning.

NeuroFactor – 100mg

NeuroFactor is still added at 100mg per serving. NeuroFactor is a coffee berry fruity extract that has been shown to improve cognition, memory and focus. This, along with Alpha-GPC and Tyrosine should help elevate overall mood and memory. NeuroFactor is clinically shown to significantly increase BDNF levels, which supports the growth, maintenance, and survival of neurons, enhancing cognitive functions like learning and memory.

The 100mg dosage is nice.

Yohimbe Extract – 10mg

This is standardized to 6% Yohimbine. This means users are getting .6mg per serving of Yohimbine. This is enough for most people where it will elevate body temperature, potentially increase heart rate and increase that stimulatory effect making you more aware and alert. Yohimbine is typically used in fat burners but at lower dosages does provide a nice stimulant bump giving your more energy during your workout.

Huperzine A – 10mcg

Huperzine A stays at the same dosage as the everyday version of Euphoriq at 10mcg. This isn’t a lot as we typically see this at a minimum of 50mcg, but Huperzine A does compliment Alpha-GPC well as it inhibits the breakdown of acetylcholine. Alpha-GPC increases the levels of acetylcholine while Huperzine A inhibits the breakdown of it. By doing this, Huperzine A enhances focus and concentration, which can be beneficial in mentally demanding tasks and daily activities requiring sustained attention.

Overall the new version of Euphoriq for FDM (Food, Drug, Mass) is still done really well to meet an expected price point. This does retail at retailers for $34.98. The everyday offering on MuscleTech's website retails for $44.99 before code so users can get over $10 in savings on a formula that still will work great for everyone.

Final Takeaway on MuscleTech Euphoriq (FDM Version)

Honestly the removal of nooLVL and reduction of Alpha-GPC at the new price point is OK. You still get the full dosage of NeuroFactor, complimented by Tyrosine, Alpha-GPC and Huperzine A. It is still made with 300mg Paraxanthine. You get sufficient Citrulline, Beta-Alanine, Betaine and Taurine. Overall at this price point it is one of the better pre-workouts you can get at a retailer like Walmart.
