Basic Supplements can still be considered the new kid on the block. But they show absolutely no signs of slowing down when it comes to releasing quality products that stick to their budget friendly motto. Again, holding true to their name, Basic Supplements decided to yet again keep it as simple as possible while still attempting to be effective with their ingredient profile on their new BCAA Electrolyte products. With two initial flavors, Blueberry Lemonade and Candy Burst, they cover the spectrum on sweet and savory both.

At an MSRP of $24.99 for 30 serving size and $39.99 for the 60 serving size, you are getting a pretty good deal here. The serving sizes are average at 10.6g per scoop which means you’re not carrying around a huge tub of pre or have to worry about some huge scooper like some other brands. Lets dive into this SFP and see how they decided to formulate it.

Basic Supplements BCAA Formula Supplements Facts Page

Along with the usual ingredients in a typical BCAA product here we have a grand total of 5 calories per serving coming from the 1g of carb here. We also get 15mg of Niacin, 1mg of Vitamin B6, 300mcg of Folate and 2mcg of B12. The biggest benefit here is the 250mg of Sodium and 208mg of Potassium. But the real reason we are here is to see the breakdown of the 2:1:1 BCAA profile included in this ingredient profile.

L-Leucine – 3500mg

L-Leucine is an essential amino acid that plays a key role in protein synthesis and muscle repair. It is one of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), along with isoleucine and valine. L-Leucine is particularly important for athletes and bodybuilders because it can help stimulate muscle growth and recovery after exercise. It activates the mTOR pathway, which is crucial for muscle protein synthesis. While specific dosages can vary, many supplements suggest around 2-5 grams per serving, often taken before or after workouts.

L-Isoleucine – 1,750mg

Isoleucine is one of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), alongside leucine and valine. Like L-Leucine, it is an essential amino acid, meaning your body cannot produce it, so unfortunately you must obtain it from your diet. Isoleucine is important for muscle metabolism, immune function, and energy production. It helps stabilize blood sugar levels and plays a role in hemoglobin formation. Manu of the benefits Isoleucine can help with include muscle recovery, reduce muscle soreness, and support endurance during physical activity. It may also contribute to overall energy levels. While specific needs can vary, many recommend a total daily intake around 1-3 grams, depending on activity level and goals.

L-Valine – 1,750mg

L-Valine is the last in the line of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) family, alongside leucine and isoleucine. Just like the other BCAAs, L-Valine is vital for muscle metabolism and overall health. L-Valine plays a critical role in muscle repair, energy production, and maintaining nitrogen balance. It can also help support immune function and regulate blood sugar levels. You can obtain L-Valine(and the other BCAA’s)  from high-protein foods, including meat, dairy products, eggs, soy, legumes, nuts, and whole grains. It is also available as a dietary supplement. Supplementing with L-Valine may help improve exercise performance, reduce muscle breakdown, and enhance recovery after workouts. It’s particularly popular among all athletes. For general supplementation, a typical dose of L-Valine alongside the other two included here ranges from a total of 5 to 10 grams per day.

Final Takeaway on Basic Supplements BCAA

We have said this before and we will say it again. Not all products need to be absolutely stacked to the brim with unnecessary ingredients. With Basic Supplements you get exactly what you see. Enough ingredients to cover the basics and nothing else that's not really needed which allows them to keep these products cost effective. I haven't had the chance to try these flavor profiles yet, but I am happy with the ingredients profile and cant wait to try it out. As always stay tuned to all our social media channels for more info.
