Last year, The team over at MuscleSport made an announcement on April Fools Day. They said they were releasing a Maple Bacon Doughnut flavor profile in their hit Lean Whey Protein line. The response was WAY MORE than expected. Jason the Supp Chef himself, has been in the lab creating an absolutely epic limited edition flavor for this year. MuscleSport has always nailed it when it comes to creating those flavor profiles we all have came to expect. This years April Fools Day is no laughing matter, this is an actual real limited edition flavor drop that is sure to satisfy those taste buds. We understand that not everyone loves the unmatched flavor of a real maple bacon doughnut but if so, this is your jam.

As with most of the Lean Whey flavors, we are going to have some inclusions in that are going to add an additional layer of taste and something to look forward to at the end of each shake. Who doesnt love a little extra in each serving?

With the usual MSRP of $54.99 you are going to get a full 26 serving tub. As always, each serving is going to be 130 calories. Featuring 25g of total yielded protein, 2g fat and 5g carbohydrates with 3g coming from fiber. Without further ado, scroll down as we dive into the SFP.

As with all the other flavors of Lean Whey, this contains very similar macros. Each serving is 130 calories, 25g protein, 2g fat and 5g carbohydrates, The protein here is going to come from Whey Isolate and Hydrolyzed Whey Protein. And at $54.99 for a 26 serving tub it might seem a tad expensive, but I can assure you this is well worth the couple extra bucks(especially with the inclusions).

Lean Whey Protein Matrix – 31g

Whey protein isolate is defined as being more than 90% protein by weight. Hydrolyzed whey is protein that has been pretreated with enzymes and acid to reduce its particle size; it’s the fastest absorbed form of whey. Hydrolyzation reduces the allergic potential of whey and milk protein, which is why hydrolyzed whey is often used in infant formula. Hydrolyzed whey also tends to have better solubility and digestibility. Now Is one form better than the others? There haven’t been many comparison studies, although one trial noted that whey hydrolysate may enhance muscle recovery more than whey isolate. When utilized together they form a one two punch to ensure that you have all the bases covered for your protein intake.

Fibersol-2

Fibersol-2 can be used to improve the nutritional profile and increase the fiber content of any food application without compromising taste, quality and enjoyment for the consumer. Fibersol-2 is the fiber to fill the fiber gap. MCT’s

MCT oil is a supplement made from a type of fat called medium-chain triglycerides. MCT molecules are smaller than those in most of the fats you eat (long-chain triglycerides [LCT]). This makes them easier to digest. You can absorb MCT in your bloodstream quickly. This turns it into energy you can use. Usually, people use MCT for help with:

  • Weight loss
  • Appetite control
  • Extra energy for exercise

So adding this into your protein formula can help stimulate that fat loss when utilized with other ingredients such as we have here.

L-Carnitine Tartrate

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate increases fatty acid oxidation and reduces purine catabolism and free radical formation, which may prevent exercise fatigue and muscle weakness. L-carnitine supplements reduced lactate levels and heart rate; increased lipid metabolism, VO2max, oxygen consumption, and L-carnitine plasma concentrations; improved performance; and hastened recovery in some of the studies.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a type of fat. CLA can help reduce body fat deposits and improve immune function. The average diet supplies 15-174 mg of CLA daily. People commonly take CLA by mouth for weight loss. It is also often used for bodybuilding and fitness, and when combined with the above ingredients you have a great setup for a fat burning atmosphere.
