GHOST Launches Legend V4 Pre-Workout

GHOST Legend V4 Pre-Workout Supplement Facts Panel

The biggest question we will get is, “how does Legend V4 differ from Legend V3?” We will get to that here in our SFP (supplement facts panel) breakdown. It is important to note that GHOST kept the 30-serving container size BUT they increased the serving size from 14g to 22g, an increase of 57%.

L-Citrulline – 6,000mg

GHOST continues to use fermented pure Citrulline in their Legend pre-workout formula. The big difference here is GHOST went from 4g of Citrulline in Legend V3 to 6g of Citrulline in this new Legend V4 formula.

Citrulline the precursor to Arginine. The body converts Citrulline into Arginine which then increases nitric oxide and blood flow. The 6,000mg serving size has become the norm. Acute benefits start at as little as 3g of Citrulline.

Beta-Alanine – 3,200mg

Beta-Alanine remains the same in Legend V4 as it did from Legend V3. Beta-Alanine is one of the most popular dietary supplement ingredients used in pre-workout powders. It can cause the “itchy” feeling but the primary function of Beta-Alanine is to buffer lactic acid and improve muscular endurance.

The 3.2g serving size is acceptable.

Betaine Anhydrous – 2,500mg

Betaine Anhydrous comes over to Legend V4 from Legend All Out. Betaine, an ingredient that has been shown to improve performance and output, is dosed at 2,500mg in Legend All Out (it was also in the CG Pre collaboration). Users will get the full 2,500mg dosage in Legend V4 pre-w0rkout.

Betaine Anhydrous has a lot of promise in improving overall exercise performance, strength output and recovery.

Senactiv – 100mg

Senactiv is an ingredient from Nuliv Science. Senactiv is not a new ingredient for GHOST. GHOST uses 50mg Senactiv in their hydration RTD. They also used 50mg of Senactiv in their limited edition Legend V3 Summertime Punch flavor. GHOST decided to make Senactiv a mainstay ingredient at double the dosage at 100mg.

Senactiv dosage is typically 50mg so this is 200% more per serving. 

Senactiv has been show to improve performance and exercise output. It also has been shown to reduce fatigue and improve recovery. 

L-Tyrosine – 2,000mg

Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that has gained a lot of popularity in the pre-workout category. Tyrosine can help improve overall cognition and memory. The 2,000mg dosage is the same dosage found in the GHOST Legend All Out high stim pre-workout.

The 2,000mg dosage is more than enough.

Taurine – 1,000mg

Taurine was absent in GHOST Legend V3 but it is in Legend V4. Taurine can aid in electrolyte regulation and overall exercise performance output. Taurine can aid in muscular endurance. It may also taper some of the side effects of stimulants like caffeine.

The 1,000mg dosage of Taurine is sufficient.

VitaCholine Choline Bitartrate – 1,000mg

Returning to the Legend V4 formula from Legend V3 is VitaCholine Choline Bitartrate at 2x the dosage. While V3 had VitaCholine in it, it was dosed at 500mg (still great). GHOST Legend V4 will use VitaCholine at a full gram (1,000mg) dosage. 

VitaCholine is a patent form of Choline Bitartrate from Balchem. The primary function and benefit of VitaCholine is cognition improvement, mental alertness and better focus.

The 1,000mg dosage is double what we typically see.

Natural Caffeine – 300mg

GHOST does increase caffeine content from Legend V3 to Legend V4. While Legend V3 had 250mg of natural caffeine, Legend V4 will bump it up to the 300mg dosage. The 300mg caffeine dosage has become the norm in the space. To reference, Legend All Out contains 400mg caffeine.

PureWay C – 195mg

PureWay Vitamin C is a high bioavailable form of Vitamin C. The 195mg dosage is new to the pre-workout but this is the same dosage GHOST uses in their Hydration formula. PureWay Vitamin C may help improve immunity and could lead to better, fuller pumps.

Theobromine – 100mg

Theobromine is back at 100mg in Legend V4. This was the same dosage as Legend V3. Theobromine is a metabolite of caffeine and may have some energy implications very similar to caffeine. Theobromine can help increase energy, alertness and body temperature (thermogenesis).

The 100mg dosage is acceptable.

NeuroFactor – 100mg

GHOST may use more NeuroFactor than any other brand in the sports nutrition space. NeuroFactor is a coffee fruit extract from FutureCeauticals. It has been shown to improve cognition, focus and learning. 

NeuroFactor works by increasing levels of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). BDNF plays a critcal role in learning, memory, higher thinking, neuronal development, maintenance, repair, and protection against neurodegeneration.

The 100mg dosage is great.

AstraGin – 50mg

AstraGin is from Nuliv Science. It can help increase the aborption of the ingredients in this product. Some research suggest that it may help with gut health as well.

The 50mg dosage is correct.
