Chromax®

Chromax chromium picolinate is a highly bioavailable form of chromium supported by over 35 human clinical studies affirming its benefits for weight management, body composition, appetite control, cognitive health, glucose metabolism, insulin function, energy support and more. The superiority of Nutrition21’s Chromax over other forms of chromium can be seen in its stable chemical structure and superior absorption profile. These differences account for safety and effectiveness in formulations targeting health-and-wellness issues that matter most today.

Uses of Chromax®

Out of all of the vitamin and mineral supplements out there, some get more attention than others. Magnesium and Zinc seem to get a lot of attention in the sports nutrition space, which is fine, as they play vital roles in our health. However today we are presenting a mineral which doesn’t get quite the attention it deserves, although it really plays a huge role in overall health. We’re talking of course, about Chromium.

chromaxChromium is a mineral that many people know about, however have no idea what it may be good for. Not only that, if they do, they may be taking a subpar form of it. Chromium is a mineral which can be found in various foods including potatoes, poultry, meat, and broccoli. It plays a vital role in your metabolism, and people who are deficient in Chromium have higher rates of insulin resistance, and for some may be worth supplementing with. To keep it simple, Chromium stimulates insulin receptors.

This is where Nutrition21® comes in. There are several Chromium forms on the market, however some of them have poor bioavailability. It’s not always about what you simply put in your body, but what you are absorbing. Chromax® is a trademarked form of Chromium from Nutrition21 and is known as Chromium Picolinate. To start, Chromium Picolinate has been shown to have superior bioavailability according to a study

So with that said, is there any evidence that Chromax® can be beneficial? Well, according to 30+ studies, yes. In a study done on obese non-diabetic subjects, Chromium was shown to be beneficial at 200mcg per day when compared to a placebo improving body composition and even when compared to another form of Chromium Chromium Picolonate was shown to increased lean mass.

Another study has shown Chromium to be beneficial for fat loss, without loss in lean mass. There are a wealth of studies to go by, however this one compared Chromax® to other weight loss solutions. One last interesting study we thought we’d point out, is that Chromax® has even been shown to be beneficial for cognitive function in older adults at 1000mcg. While we would like to see more research for this purpose, this study was certainly interesting.
