Expo West Postponed

expo west

It’s official, after a slew of companies pulling out of the Expo West trade show in Anaheim, the event has officially been postponed.

Expo West officials made this statement on their site today:

“Following that clear guidance, we have listened to our community and are making four important announcements:

  1. Natural Products Expo West in March 2020 is officially postponed, with the intention to announce, by mid-April, a new date.
  2. It is our intention to work with all our Exhibitors and Attendees on future credits and support, with particular focus on the many entrepreneurs and small businesses who are the heartbeat of this community, for whom we are going to stand up a rebate fund of $5m targeted at their specific needs.
  3. It is our intention to deliver a Natural Products Expo West event before the summer to serve the community, either in Anaheim or a suitable alternative location.
  4. We are already working on how we deliver a much-enhanced Expo East in September in Philadelphia, serving and supporting the community with the best show we have ever had on the East Coast. “

This cancellation comes just 48 hours before the event was supposed to take place. This comes just days after the FIBO in Germany was cancelled. As of right now, the Arnold Sports Festival will still be taking place, however don’t be surprised if anything changes in the coming days.

Fitness Informant's POV

We cancelled our trip to Germany, and G was supposed to attend part of the event on Wednesday, however that was cancelled. While it did not hurt us on FI any, we have heard that many brands were already there setting up and just got the news. Certainly a little bit late, however due to the panic it is causing, not surprising.

We won't be surprised if the Arnold gets cancelled, however we hope it does not.
