More details have surfaced regarding The Rock and Dany Garcia’s inaugural Athleticon event coming in October 2020. The event is said to combine athletics, wellness/fitness and entertainment into one weekend stemming from the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday the 10th to Sunday the 11th of October.
The inaugural event will feature bodybuilding events from the NPC Worldwide International Championship, and an official IFBB Pro League competition. The main event of the weekend will be the first ever ICON World Classic. To participate in the ICON World Classic you must have won an IFBB Pro Show and receive an invite from the committee. Other details regarding classes have not been released.
Other events over the weekend include Yoga with Rachel Brathen, Kinrgy with Julianne Hough, UFC Fan Experience, Slam N’ Jam 3v3 Basketball Tournament, Athleticon Festival and the Athleticonference.

FI will be in live in living color covering the inaugural Athleticon event. I think this is going to be a unique event that will be successful. The Rock, and his business partner Dany Garcia, do things on a big level. They are co-produced many entertainment ventures in the past with much success. The Rock was involved in the Mr. Olympia competition for several years. Dany and The Rock both have a passion in bodybuilding. I am excited to cover this event, which is only one month after the 2020 Mr. Olympia.
