BasicPre

With the recent release of their full whey protein line, Basic supplements releases two flavors in conjunction with their new Pre-Workout line. Holding true to their name, Basic Supplements decided to keep it simple yet extremely effective with their ingredient profile on these. Miami Vice and Ice Pop are generally really hot sellers no matter what company its from and the flavor profile on these have a little something for everyone.

At an MSRP of $29.99 for 30 servings you are getting quite a good deal here. The serving sizes are small at 8g per scoop which means youre not carrying around a huge tub of pre or have to worry about some huge scooper like some other brands. Lets dive into this SFP and see how they decided to formulate it.

Basic Supplements Pre-Workout Supplements Facts Page

While none of the below ingredients are at max suggested doses, that isn’t a bad thing. Not everyone needs or wants over powered caffeine or crazy tingles etc. The included doses here are meant for effective workouts without insane limits.

L-Citrulline – 3000mg

l-Citrulline has quickly become one of the most popular blood flow agents used in the pre-workout powder world.  Citrulline is the precursor to Arginine in the body. When users consume Citrulline the body converts it to Arginine which then increases nitric oxide production. The increase in NO production will increase blood flow into the muscles creating a larger, fuller pump. Studies show that the 3000mg here is an average dose.

Creatine Monohydrate – 1,500mg

There are a lot of different brands and versions of creatine. Creatine monohydrate is the most well-studied dietary supplement ingredient that has proven to be safe and effective for everyone. Creatine Monohydrate has various versions from branded to non-branded. Basic Supps uses 1.5g of Creatine Monohydrate here and while most promote creatine as a muscle-building ingredient, its primary function is to aid in the regeneration of ATP (stores to be used as energy during exercise). Creatine supplementation increases the available stores of creatine phosphate in the muscles, allowing for better performance in short, explosive activities by enhancing the ATP regeneration capacity.

L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate – 400mg

AAKG is a compound formed from the amino acid L-arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate. L-arginine is a precursor to nitric oxide, which helps improve blood flow and may enhance exercise performance. AAKG is often used to support muscle growth, reduce fatigue, and aid in recovery post-exercise. Some studies suggest that up to 6g per day may help increase levels of growth hormone and improve nutrient delivery to muscles.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 200mg

Basic gives us a mild 200mg here(honestly possibly the perfect amount for the average gym rat) Caffeine Anhydrous is everyone’s favorite energy-providing, focus enhancing ingredient and this central nervous stimulant is well known throughout the industry; it is the purest caffeine source on the planet and enhances energy levels, focus, thermogenesis, and performance in the gym. It is backed by many studies and potentially the most consumed supplement in the world. While there are many types of caffeine, caffeine anhydrous is easily the most popular. Studies show a wide range of doses up to 400mg are effective and safe.

Huperzia Serrata (Huperzine A) – 2mg

The last ingredient in this formula is a mental focused ingredient. Huperzine A has been found to help with memory and learning function in the brain help with overall concentration when using it as well. Studies have shown that average effective dosing is 50-200mcg per day and Basic gives us about 2mg here which is sufficient for its purposes.

Final Takeaway on Basic Supplements Pre

As you can see from the SFP here, none of the ingredients listed are at their maximum suggested doses like some other products on the market and that is 100% by design. Once again, Basic Supplements are formulated for the average gym rat that doesn't want to feel the Beta Alanine tingles, or 400mg of caffeine. I am actually pretty excited about this formulation because sometimes you just want a good workout without any wild crash later in the day. Try it out for yourself, I dont think youll be dissapointed. And as always check us out on all our social media channels for more information.
