The gaming industry is an area many supplement companies are looking as an area of opportunity and growth. The Genius Brand also believes in it.
The Genius Brand announced it will be releasing their first ever gaming supplement called Genius Gamer later this month (May). An exact launch date has not been set yet.
Per the label, Genius Gamer will be an "Elite Gaming Performance & Blue Light Protection" supplement, combining two areas of concern for gamers. Gamers need energy and focus to thrive during game play, but harmful blue lights can cause eye fatigue and headaches. The Genius Brand plans to address both.
Little details are known about the new Genius Gamer supplement but we are told that the formula will feature branded ingredients Teacrine, Dynamine and Cognizine. We are also being told that the formula will include Lutemax 2020, an ingredient that protects the eyes against harmful blue light.
A full label release is scheduled for the week of May 13th here at Fitness Informant.
Fitness Informant's POV
I am not surprised to see more brands get into the gaming space. I will be honest, I was surprised to see The Genius Brand get into the space before many other companies. The Genius Brand prides itself on all-natural supplements, so it will be interesting to see the whole product label and how it aligns with their portfolio.
Gamers spend a lot of time playing, and a lot of money on supplements that can improve their overall performance. So much so that ingredient manufacturers are spending money commissioning studies on gamers specifically when developing new ingredients.
I would expect to see more brands head this direction as the popularity of G Fuel and Mtn. Dew in this space is at an all-time high. Streaming platforms like Twitch are also becoming an area of opportunity for brands to advertise and reach that audience.
