Jeremy Buendia Signs with RYSE

Jeremy Buendia, a 4x Mr. Olympia Men’s Physique Champion with a controversial past, has agreed to sign with RYSE Supplements. Jeremy is one of the most decorated bodybuilders of this generation, but a troubled past, including recent negative headlines, have seemingly hurt Buendia’s image.

After a tumultuous summer for the former Mr. Olympia, which included allegations of domestic abuse and a fight with a fellow bodybuilder which left the star with a punch heard around the bodybuilding world, Buendia was seeking a much needed fresh start. Still, his troubled past is sure to follow him. A champion with seemingly more enemies than friends is seeking a rebirth, a RYSE to redemption.

Jeremy was most recently with Steel Supplements, but was dropped after the allegations of domestic abuse. Prior to that the 4x Mr. Olympia Champion was with Evogen. RYSE Supplements will serve as new ground for the star to repair his image while helping a young, upstart company.

For RYSE Supplements, this isn’t the first big star the company has had. The brand, only several years old, has had stars like Torrie Wilson, Connor McGregor and Joey Swoll represent the brand. Jeremy Buendia will be the first professional bodybuilder signed by the brand.

It’s still unknown what type of role Jeremy will serve on the brand and what the brand has planned for Buendia, but only time will tell.

Fitness Informant's POV

Interesting. That's all I can say. I have had several other companies reach out to me and ask my opinion on signing Jeremy. I had said to stay away because of the baggage that came with the character, and what his fellow bodybuilders have said about him. The thing about Jeremy that is positive is that he has a "lifestyle" look to him. He can help the brand grow more outside of supplements like apparel. BUT, and that is a big BUT, he needs to get his shit together and keep his nose clean.

I like RYSE a lot. I think they have a lot going for them, but they desperately need an identity. From Torrie Wilson to Connor McGregor to Joey Swoll there hasn't been a consistent message from the brand. They need to pick a lane and stick with it. With that said, my hope for them is this lane isn't congested.
