LionEdge Nutrition is going to be launching their first pre-workout supplement ever in the next coming weeks called PreEdge. The brand has officially revealed the supplement facts panel and the flavors on PreEdge.
LionEdgeNutrition new pre-workout supplement, PreEdge, will feature a fully transparent label. The label is split into five, essentially six components: pump, performance, energy/focus, anti-crash and hydrations, with absorption added with BioPerine.
The pump matrix is called Lion Vasodilator Pump Matrix. On a 2-scoop serving (typical of pre-workouts now) you get 6g L-Citrulline, 1g Arginine AKG and 1g Taurine. Citrulline is the precursor to Arginine in the body which raises nitric oxide levels. Arginine AKG is an exogenous Arginine that could improve nitric oxide levels in the body, but the absorption of Arginine is poor in the human body. Taurine can aid in regulating electrolytes.
The Lion Strength & Performance Matrix includes three known ingredients. We get 2g Betaine, which can aid in output. We also get 1.6g Beta-Alanine, an ingredient that can prolong muscular endurance, and finally we get 1.5g Kre-Alkalyn Creatine.
The next component is the Lion Energy & Focus Matrix. It contains 1.5g Tyrosine, 300mg Caffeine Anhydrous, 41mg Choline Bitartrate and 50mcg Huperzine-A. These are typical ingredients seen in this type of “matrix.” Tyrosine, Choline Bitartrate and Huperzine A are cognitive ingredients.
The Lion Anti-Crash Matrix contains two ingredients. We get 350mg Theanine and 75mg Theobromine. Theanine can taper down the jitters from Caffeine. Theobromine pairs well with caffeine and can act as a soft stimulant while relaxing the blood vessels. This is typically used in pump products.
Finally we get Lion Hydration Matrix. This contains electrolytes and Coconut Water Powder. Coconut Water Powder is dosed at 500mg.
PreEdge from LionEdge Nutrition should be available for sale by the end of September. It will be available in two flavors: Tiger’s Blood and Tropsicle.

Final Takeaway
I have had the opportunity to use this several times as they sent me a tub. It is a decent pre-workout. Nothing too crazy about it, which isn't a bad thing. I would like to see higher dosages of certain ingredients like Beta-Alanine, Choline and Huperzine. I could do without Arginine AKG and Kre-Alkalyn (I would rather have monohydrate). LionEdge prides itself on being fully disclosed and tends to use ingredients that are more well-known versus some of the newer ingredients on the market. We will provide a full review in time.
