#1 Core ZONE

core zone
  • Rating: 8.9 out of 10
  • Servings: 20 Servings
  • Best For: Top Overall Product

Use coupon code INFORMANT to save 20%

Pros

  • Fully transparent label
  • Great Taste
  • 500mg Citicholine
  • 300mg Bacopa
  • 100mg Neurofactor®
  • 1g Tryosine

Cons

  • Limited Flavors

Core ZONE tops this list, and for good reason. It is a very versatile nootropic supplement that can be used for al most any situation. We here on Fitness Informant loved it for how productive it made us. We hate to say it, but it really put us... "in the Zone".

The profile is very straight forward, and besides the Pregnenolone, uses nothing we haven't sen in a nootropic before. With that said, everything is dosed well, and it all comes together to deliver an awesome experience. With that said, the profile starts off with two well known nootropic ingredients, ALCAR and Tyrosine. Both are staples in many nootropics and pre-workouts, and at a gram each, they are dosed well. You also get 500mg of Citicholine, which converts to Acetylcholine in the brain, a neurotransmitter.

Bacopa and Mucuna are also in here, both dosed well and have multiple benefits. Mucuna is a source of L-Dopa, which is a precursor to Dopamine. You also get a solid dose of Caffeine at 150mg, which is a great spot for a nootropic, as it isn't overpowering however it should provide a solid boost in energy.

Zone also contains Neurofactor® and Pregneolone. Neurofactor® is great for brain health, and is at 100mg, the clinical dose. Pregnenolone is a neurosteroid and Core is one of the first few brands to actually use this, as you see it in their pre-workout as well.

Overall, Zone is simply a great Nootropic, and works for just about any situation. It really is great for when you want to get work done, however even when stacked with a pump product makes for a great pre-workout. This is certainly a nootropic worth grabbing.

Who Makes It?

Core Nutritionals is a brand from Doug Miller. It has been around for a long time now, and has certainly stood the test of time. They are known for making some of the best formulas on the market and never seem to disappoint when it comes to new product or flavor launches.

What's In It?

One serving (one scoop) contains:

  • 1g ALCAR - form of Carnitine that helps with focus
  • 1g Tyrosine - precursor to Dopamine, helps with focus under stress
  • 1g Taurine - improves muscular strength and endurance
  • 500mg Citicholine - high quality form of Choline , helps with focus
  • 500mg Mucuna Pruriens Extract - source of L-Dopa
  • 300mg Bacopa - helps with focus
  • 150mg Caffeine Anhydrous - helps with energy
  • 100mg Neurofactor®- helps with brain health
  • 20mg Huperzine A (1%) - prevents choline from being broken down in the brain
  • 10mg Pregnenolone - Neurosteroid that hales with cognitive function
core zone

Bottom Line:

Core Nutritionals Zone is a great nootropic supplement, that is useful for many situations, which is why not makes this list. It can be used for work, to help with productivity, gaming, and is a greta way to start your day. There is nothing crazy in here, besides the Pregnenolone which can be found in core Fury as well. Certainly the most interesting aspect to Zone. There is a good reason hy this got the rank it did, and it is certainly worth grabbing, if not stocking up on.

#2 GHOST Gamer

ghost gamer
  • Rating: 8.9 out of 10
  • Servings: 40/20
  • Best For: Gaming/Taste

Use coupon code INFORMANT to save 20%

Pros

  • 1.6g NooLVL™
  • 1g Taurine
  • Great Taste
  • Fully transparent label
  • 1g L-Tyrosine
  • Value

Cons

  • Some may want more energy

GHOST Gamer is the product on this list, and it could very well be number one on this list as well, and is currently #1 on another list. GHOST Gamer is a nootropic targeted towards Gamers, as it is a fast growing category in our space it seems. To start, we have to say that GHOST Gamer is easily the best flavored product on this list. Of course, taste is subjective, and some people say cucumbers taste better pickled, but here on FI, we can safely say that Gamer is a great tasting supplement, and easily #1 for that reason on this list.

Of course flavor isn't the only reason GHOST Gamer is on this list. Gamer is a very well formulated product, that provides subtle energy that puts you in a prime state of mind to play video games at your fullest capability. The profile starts off with an ingredient that is new to the market, and is meant for gaming. NooLVL® is an ingredient from Nutrition21®, and has been studied on Gamers. Be sure to check out our video on NooLVL for more info. Either way, you are getting 1.6 grams of NooLVL in Gamer, which is the clinical dose. Following this you get 1 gram of Taurine, which helps can help with hydration, blood flow, and cognitive function as well.

Tyrosine is in here and for good reason, as it helps with focus under stressful situations, which happens a lot when you're playing some video games. At 1 gram it is dosed well. You also get 500mg of Cognizin®, which is Citicholine. This is a high quality form of Choline, and is perfect for Gamer. Rounding this out you get 150mg of Caffeine, 40mg of Theobromine, and AstraGin®. The amount of Caffeine is great, as it is enough to boost focus and energy without making you jittery. 300mg of Caffeine and sitting around isn't the best way to go. AstraGin is great for absorption, and is dosed well.

Overall, Gamer is the best nootropic for gaming, and it can be used for being productive as well. Most people who buy it tend to use it for working out, productivity, and much more than just gaming, and with such great flavors, this is one you will most likely stock up on... we certainly have.

Who Makes It?

GHOST is a fully transparent brand in the supplement industry. They are more than a supplement brand, they are a lifestyle (that's really what they are going for). They could easily attract consumers with their amazing YouTube Channel and marketing campaigns, which they do, but they keep them with their quality formulas and products.

What's In It?

One serving (two-scoops) contains:

  • 1.6g NooLVL®- form of Arginine shown to help Gamers play better
  • 1g Tyrosine - helps with focus under stress
  • 1g Taurine - improves muscular strength and endurance
  • 500mg Cognizin® - high quality form of Choline , helps with focus
  • 500mg Raw Coconut Powder - aids in hydration
  • 50mg AstraGin- aids in absorption
  • 40mg Theobromine - can help with energy
ghost gamer

Bottom Line:

GHOST Gamer is a high quality nootropic supplement that aids with focus, alertness, gaming, and provides subtle energy. It is easily the best tasting product on this list, and we guarantee if you try it, you will be a repeat buyer, as it is great to have around for times when you need energy, want to focus, or simply want to play video games at your best.

#3 Myoblox Skywalk

myoblox skywalk
  • Rating: 8.9 out of 10
  • Servings: 36/18
  • Best For: Strength

Use coupon code INFORMANT to save 10%

Pros

  • 1.5g Tyrosine
  • Great Taste
  • 400mg Alpha GPC
  • Natural Caffeine
  • Powerful Energy
  • Versitile

Cons

  • Proprietary Blend
  • Could use more Glutamine

Myoblox Skywalk is a powerful nootropic supplement, and we have to say, it is the strongest in terms of energy and tunnel vision on this list. Myoblox is known for making strong products, and this is no different.

The profile starts off with 2 very popular ingredients in Nootropics, known as L-Tyrosine and Alpha GPC. Now these are common, but they are are high doses, and this is what really separates them. At 2 scoops of Skywalk, you get 3 grams of Tyrosine, which is the highest dose on this list. You also get 800mg of Alpha GPC at 2 scoops which is a higher than the recommended 600mg. Even at one scoop, you are getting more than enough of each to get a noticeable difference.

Now we said this was the strongest on this list, and the only thing that we have to complain about is the proprietary blend of the stimulants in here. The Laser Focus Matrix contains 1050mg of various ingredients meant to aid with focus, and the only one they give us is natural Caffeine, which is at 200mg per scoop. The rest is a proprietary blend of Mucuna, Theanine, Hordenine, Tyramine, BioPerine, and Huperzine. All are great ingredients, however we have to say we wish we knew how much of each we were getting.

With that said, this is certainly a strong nootropic, and if you want a strong energy boost with tunnel vision, this one, even at 1 scoops, is worth looking into. We also have to say, the taste is great, and you can't go wrong with any of the Skywalk flavors.

Who Makes It?

Myoblox is simply one word... cool. They are a brand that specializes in making small batches of product, and they know how to keep their customers coming back for whatever they launch. While there are some changes we would like to see in their profiles, which usually have proprietary blends, we still have fun with their products and they seem to deliver.

What's In It?

One serving  contains:

  • 1.5g Tyrosine – helps with focus under stress
  • 400mg Alpha GPC –converts to Acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter
  • 150mg RealCaf™  – natural source of Caffeine, helps with energy

Laser Focus Matrix (Prop. Blend)

  • Velvet Bean Seed Extract– source of L-DOPA
  • L-Theanine - helps with calming
  • Hordeneine HCl - helps with energy and focus
  • N-Methyl-Tyramine - helps with energy and focus
  • BioPerine - increases absorption
  • Huperzine A -  prevents Acetylcholine from being broken down in the brain
Myoblox skywalk

Bottom Line:

Myoblox Skywalk is a powerful nootropic supplement, and if we had 1 hour to write a 10 page paper for class, we would choose this one because it is simply powerful. While it may be too strong for some at 2 scoops, if you can tolerate it, you will certainly enjoy it. Easily the strongest on this list at 2 scoops, and it really introduced us to high doses of Tyrosine.

#4 NutraBio Alpha EAA

NutraBio Alpha EAA
  • Rating: 9.4 out of 10
  • Servings: 30
  • Best For: Non-Stimulant Formula

Use coupon code INFORMANT to save 10%

Pros

  • 10g EAAs
  • 600mg Alpha GPC
  • Taurine
  • 300mg KSM-66
  • Taste
  • Transparent Formula

Cons

  • Limited Flavors

NutraBio Alpha EAA was released at the beginning of 2019 and took the industry by storm. NutraBio already has an extensive line of supplements, and with the release of Alpha EAA, NutraBio showed us that they could be innovative. In fact, Alpha EAA impressed us so much, that is won our 2019 "Product of the Year" award.

Alpha EAA is not just a basic EAA product. It took a much different approach to than the competition by not only combining EAAs with a hydration matrix like many other companies do. Instead, NutraBio decided to make Alpha EAA an EAA/Nootropic product.

Alpha EAA starts us off with the standard 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs at 6 total grams. This is then followed by the 6 other EAAs, which include Lysine, Threonine, Phenylalanine, Histidine, Tryptophan, and Methionine. What's greta about this profile, is that it is fully transparent, so we know exactly how much of each EAA is in here. You get a total of 8.2 grams of EAAs per serving.

This is then followed by a Hydration Matrix, which gives you 1.2 grams of Taurine, and 500mg of CocoPure, which is coconut water powder. This is nice to see, and it has become the standard of the industry to have a hydration ingredients added to BCAA/EAA products. This makes it great to take anytime of the day, or even during your workouts.

Of course, what really sets this product apart is the Nootropic/Adaptogen Matrix. This impressive blend consists of 600mg of Alpha GPC, 500mg of VitaCholine®, 300mg of KSM-66® Ashwagandha, and 50mcg of Huperzine A. This blend may aids in focus, and can even help reduce overall stress and anxiety. This blend is what had us so impressed, as there were no EAA/Nootropic products before Alpha EAA.

Lastly, we have the AstraGin dosed at 50mg. This may aid in absorption, and is nice to see in here.

Who Makes It?

NutraBio has been in business since 1996 producing some of the highest quality supplements you can buy today. They not only promote awesome, high quality products, but education as well.

NutraBio has been trying to educate the consumer on the sports nutrition industry for several years to ensure that you are purchasing supplements of high quality and not just a marketing gimmick. All of their products contain a 100% transparent label to ensure you know what you are putting in your body.

What's In It?

One serving (one-scoop) contains:

  • 6g 2:1:1 BCAA - The three BCAAs, including Leucine which has been shown to trigger MPS.
  • 2.2g EAA - blend of 6 EAAs which are necessary for building muscle.
  • 1.2g Taurine - improves muscular strength and endurance
  • 500mg CocoPure Coconut Water Powder - aids in hydration
  • 600mg Alpha-GPC - source of Choline which aids in focus
  • 500mg VitaCholine - cognitive improvement
  • 300mg KSM-66® Ashwagandha - adaptogen which may reduce cortisol
  • 50mcg Huperzine A- prevents acetylcholine from being broken down in the brain
  • 50mg AstraGin - aids in absorption
Alpha EAA label

Bottom Line:

NutraBio Alpha EAA makes this list, as it is a great stim-free option that although has nootropic properties, can be used for so much more. The Choline and Huperzine certainly aid with focus, while the KSM-66 can help with stress. Not even nootropic product needs to have stimulants or be just for focus, as NutraBio has shown.

Our Testing Process

We examined five different areas of each amino acid supplement when we compiled our rankings:

  1. Ingredients Profile
  2. Effectiveness
  3. Taste
  4. Mixability
  5. Value

Please Note: Many of the “top 10 BCAA” lists you find online are written by content writers with no in-gym or supplement experience who are paid by the word count to write an article for a website trying to generate money.

These lists are influenced by brands who pay for placement. These lists contain amino acid supplements that are, for the lack of a better word, garbage.

The following products on our best of list were used by the author of this article. He used the BCAA & EAA supplements through the duration of a full container. Sample packs were not used in determining the rankings.

Stop relying on faulty information that is influenced by outside writers and money. This list is the real deal. Here at Fitness Informant, we don’t steer you wrong. Be Informed. Live Fit.
