Revive MD Inflammation RX: Your Body Will Thank You

By September 6, 2019September 15th, 2020No Comments

With all of the wear and tear we as lifters do to ourselves, it’s no wonder that we here at Fitness Informant constantly get asked what they can do to help their achy joints. Joint support supplements have been pretty popular for a long time now, however they never come off as fun or sexy when compared to other products on the market. Since the majority of the lifting community cares more about aesthetics over health and longevity, it’s no wonder stimulant-laden pre-workouts seem to be a more popular category in our field of the supplement industry.

Joint health is typically something lifters don’t worry about until they’re older, and which perhaps may be too late. After years of heavy lifting, it’s inevitable that one day your joints are going to give you problems. Of course, joint problems will happen regardless if you lift or not as you age, so you may as well use them when you can.

Revive MD gives us a straightforward product with Inflammation RX that is formulated with some simple ingredients, but all at good doses with bioavailability in mind!

What to Expect from Inflammation RX

Inflammation RX is a product that is well-worth adding as a staple to your supplement regimen. As the name states, it is focused on the inflammation that many of us lifters experience. Of course, this doesn’t mean that simply supplementing with Inflammation RX will make your joints and other related issues simply go away. You still need to focus on lifting properly, staying hydrated, etc. However, it can certainly go a long way with reducing inflammation and pain that comes with consistent weight lifting.

Inflammation RX is a source of antioxidants, and claims to be beneficial for not just joint health, but also digestive health, digestive support, and cardiovascular support. Let’s take a look at what the science says, and see if Inflammation RX holds up.

Revive MD Inflammation RX

Revive MD is known for their quality formulas using proven ingredients at optimal dosages. Inflammation RX is another great product from the brand. Understanding the science behind the ingredient selection will help ensure you are making the right decision next time you reach for a joint a ligament supplement.

Inflammation RX LabelBoswellia Extract (std. 65% Boswellic Acids, 406mg)- 625mg

Boswellia Extract is an herb commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine, and is one of the most common ingredients found in joint health supplements.

In a study done on participants ages 45-64, who were suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. When compared to a placebo, Boswellia was reported to be more effective at relieving pain associated with their knee problems.

Boswellia is a source of Boswellic Acids, to which this extract has a 65% standardization of. This is actually a higher dose used than in the aforementioned study, and also has a higher concentration of Boswellic Acids. No complaints here!

Curcumin C3 Complex® (std. 95% Curcuminoids)- 400mg

It’s no surprise to see Curcumin in Inflammation RX. Curcumin is one of the most popular ingredients out there for the purpose of reducing inflammation. There are a wealth of studies on its effectiveness, and it would be more surprising to NOT see it in Inflammation RX. Already one of the more popular ingredients on the market for joint health, it’s a welcome addition.

Known as a powerful antioxidant, this ingredient has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine. Curcumin is a polyphenol which has been demonstrated to improve oxidative stress. Inflammation uses the trademarked Curcumin C3 Complex®, which is nice to see. Curcumin C3 Complex® is from a sustainable source of Curcumin in India. To keep it simple, it is the gold standard of Curcumin.

Curcumin is not only beneficial for joint health/inflammation, it may also be beneficial for brain function, digestive health, bowel function, and cardiovascular health. We typically want to Curcumin dosed anywhere from 250mg-1000mg depending on the standardization of Curcuminoids, which is 95% in Inflammation RX. So needless to say, Inflammation RX has your daily Curcumin needs covered.

Ginger Extract (std. 5% Gingerols, 12.5mg) – 250mg

While it’s common knowledge these days that ginger is good for an upset stomach/nausea. Who hasn’t had a ginger ale offered to them from someone after feeling nauseous? Ginger Root has also been shown to be beneficial for inflammation, which we’ll get into.

To start, we’ll get the digestive health out of the way. Studies show that just one gram of Ginger Root can be a good way to rid yourself of nausea. As for inflammation, there is a specific study done on humans showing Ginger to be beneficial for the purpose of reducing muscle pain caused my exercise.

Gingerols are the active-component of GInger, and we have 12.5mg of Gingerol in Inflammation RX. This is a good daily dose for the purpose of long-term inflammation (among other health benefits).

R-Alpha Lipoic Acid – 100mg

Next comes R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, an ingredient that is actually quite underrated. Known as an antioxidant, we usually see ALA in Glucose Disposal Agents, but it actually has been studied and shown to be beneficial for cardiovascular health as well.

Now in Inflammation RX, we have the R-Alpha Lipoic Acid version. The difference between R-ALA vs ALA is that the “R” form is the active natural form. It is typically more expensive, however it said to be utilized by the body more efficiently.

Here we get 100mg, which is a good daily dose of Alpha-Lipoic Acid.

Bioperine® – 5mg

Bioperine® needs no introduction. It is black pepper extract, and supplies the alkaloid Piperine. To keep it simple, it increases the absorption of certain ingredients (it should be noted that it may block the absorption of other ingredients).

It’s great to see Bioperine in here, as there is a study showing Piperine to be good at enhancing the absorption of Curcumin specifically. While many companies simply throw it in and tack on the “enhanced absorption”, they may be advertising it wrong. Inflammation RX actually has a study on a specific ingredient they are using to back up the increased bioavailability claim.

We have 5mg in here, which is a good dose of Bioperine®.

Final Takeaway

Inflammation RX is a supplement that just about anybody can benefit from. With the wear and tear we go through in the gym, supplementing with Inflammation RX is going to be more beneficial to you than any of these stim-laden pre-workouts, the benefits are long-term and not immediately noticeable.

While health supplements aren’t seen as sexy, they certainly should be. Inflammation RX is a great option for people who are looking for a product that may help them with their joint aches and overall health. With ingredients such as Curcumin and Boswellia, two ingredients you should be supplementing with anyway, coupled with something as underrated as R-ALA, you can’t go wrong with Inflammation RX.

With all of the joint health and antioxidant supplements on the market, this one takes a scientific approach to your health with proven ingredients at solid doses. Also helps that they care about the absorption. Revive MD is a brand you should really take a closer look at. With your actual health in mind, their line is a straight-forward/scientific approach to keeping you on the right track.
