You don’t know what you got until it’s gone. That’s the motto used by many Axe & Sledge fans who loved the Whiskey + Cola flavor the brand had…then they didn’t Axe & Sledge has officially re-launched their popular Whiskey + Cola flavor in three product: The Grind, Hydraulic and Seventh Gear.
In addition to the launch of the popular flavor, Axe & Sledge has updated the formula behind Seventh Gear. For the time being, Seventh Gear will be a 60-serving label, but we are told this will be changing over to a 30-serving label, same formula, just double the dosages.

Whiskey + Cola flavor isn’t the only exciting thing coming to Seventh Gear. Axe & Sledge has updated the formula, slightly, with improved dosages of certain ingredients. While this current label reflects a 60-serving dosage, this will change over to a 30-serving label soon. For the purpose of this article, we are going to focus on the 30-serving dosing requirements.
Unchanged Ingredients
- Beta-Alanine: 3,200mg
- Caffeine Anhydrous: 350mg
- TeaCrine: 100mg
- Di-Caffeine Malate: 50mg
- Bioperine: 5mg
- Huperzine A: 100mcg
Ingredient Reduction:
- Betaine Anhydrous from 2.5g to 2g
Ingredient Increase:
- Choline Bitartrate from 250mg to 500mg
- Alpha-GPC from 200mg to 300mg
Ingredient Removal:
- Creatine MagnaPower: 1.5g
Ingredient Addition:
- elevATP: 150mg
Overall we love the changes made to this formula. There is more of an effort to concentrate of focus in this product, which will make it stack very well with Hydraulic.

Final Takeaway
Love the update to the Seventh Gear formula. I thought at two scoops this was an OK pre-workout in the past, but the increase in choline and Alpha-GPC, along with the addition of elevATP is a solid update. I don't mind that they removed Creatine MagnaPower at all. I take creatine monohydrate, which is my preference. Full flavor review on our IG channel!
