e1gn utilizes several patent ingredients including AGmass, Vaso6, AstraGIN and KannaEase in this pre-workout to provide a solid PWO that promotes endurance, focus, energy and pumps. The product does exactly that. You won’t get a jolt of energy like you will with many PWOs on the market, and this is not a bad thing. Re1gn is a great pre-workout for those who are high on energy and endurance.

The nice thing about Charged Amino versus Amino Energy is the first ingredient listed in their amino blend is a 2:1:1 BCAA. The BCAAs are halfway down the label on ON Amino Energy. You are getting a 5g amino blend with this product, which is the same as ON Amino Energy, but again, you’re getting more beneficial 2:1:1 BCAAs.
Another area that Charged Amino does a nice job on is the hydration complex. Again, in a blend, you get 550mg of Trisodium Citrate and Potassium Chloride. Not a lot of evidence is out there that supports their use for hydration, but there’s a lot of info on how it is used in foods.
The energy blend, also a prop blend, is similar to ON Amino Energy in that it contains 160mg from Coffee Bean, Green Tea Leaf Extract and Green Coffee Bean Extract. These are all natural sources of caffeine.
Overall, not a big fan of the proprietary blend used on this product. If you want to compete with the big guys, you need to disclose a bit more, in my opinion. I would drink approximately 4-scoops a day to achieve the energy I would need. It is hard to tell if you’re getting enough BCAA (I need about 20g per day) since this is a prop blend.
Overall, I am judging this product based on the energy it gave me. I am not a big fan of grape, but Candy Grape was surprisingly decent. Peach Mango, although a bit tame on flavor, was refreshing and good too.
Overall, I think they should add some more flavors but taste is relative to the user. It’s not the best tasting amino energy type supplement I have had. Overall, this is not a bad value for a product (30-servings for $20 is cheaper than a coffee from Starbucks each day) but in comparison to the competition I think they need to do more to separate themselves. One of those things, as you can imagine, is use anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids have been shown to increase muscle mass with users. A oldie, but goodie, anabolic steroid seems to be making it’s way back onto the bodybuilding scene. That anabolic steroid would be Trestolone aka MENT (7alpha-methyl-10-nortestostrone). With studies indicating that Trestolone is 10x more effective than Testosterone [source: Iron Magazine], it isn’t surprising to see this making a comeback on the bodybuilding scene.
Trestolone, developed in the 1960s, was not developed initially to treat muscle wasting. The research-based pharmaceutical company known as Schering had interest into Trestolone for the purpose of male birth control and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). During their investigation of METN, it was discovered that it was ideally suited for the muscle building process.
Trestolone (MENT) MakeupTrestolone belongs to the 19-nor family of anabolic steroids. The formal name for MENT is 7-alpha-methly-nortestosterone. Typically the 19-nor family of steroids causes sexual dysfunction in males. This is where MENT differs. MENT does not contain the same negative side effects you get from Nandrolone or Trenbolone in terms of erectile disfunction.
MENT is the only steroid today that is capable of maintaining normal male sexual behavior. This is the main reason MENT was looked at for male birth control. It limits the production of sperm by suppressing spermatogenesis, but does not limit the sexual functionality of a man.
MENT has a very strong binding affinity to the AR receptor. Research shows that it is far greater than that of Testosterone. With that, it does have a strong ability to aromatize which can be detrimental to your muscle gains (estrogen can be nasty when trying to gain size).
A unique factor about MENT, according to TigerFitness.com, is that it does not bind to the sex hormone binding globulin (which means if it did bind to SHBG it could not bind to the AR receptor). MENT is free to bind to the androgen receptor and elicit the benefits you’d want from an anabolic steroid.
Another unique factor about MENT is it is incapable of binding to 5-alpha-reductase and cannot convert into DHT. The reason for this is the makeup of Trestolone on the carbon 7 of the molecule.
A concern for many steroid users is the effect on the male prostate. MENT is favorable in this area as research has shown that it has a lesser effect on the prostate as compared to Testosterone. This reduces the potential risk of prostate issues later in life.
According to a research study conducted in 1992, “the ability of 7 alpha-methyl-19-nortestosterone acetate (MENT) to increase the weights of the ventral prostate and seminal vesicles of castrated rats was 4x higher than that of testosterone, while its effect on the weights of bulbocavernosus plus levator ani muscles, was 10x that of testosterone.” (Endocrinology. 1992 Jun; 130(6):3677-83.) In other words, it is more effective than Testosterone.
We wouldn’t agree that MENT is 10x stronger than Testosterone. We would not expect those results in humans. We actually know two subjects who tested MENT, and here are their results:

You also get 810mg of Potassium Nitrate (MaxNOx). Potassium Nitrate is another pump inducing ingredient we saw in HemaVO2 Max…but it wasn’t fully disclosed there…it is here. You can buy Potassium Nitrate supplements, but even their dosage is not near 810mg. Again, another great dosage.
Rutaecarpine has been used in Chinese medicine to increase body temps. We have it dosed here at 40mg, which might not show a lot of effect.
Finally, the pump complex is rounded out with 10mg of GSNO. GSNO also known as S-Nitrosoglutathione, is a NO builder in the body. There is not a lot of research on the correct dosage for NO production that we could find.
You also get a Focus complex as part of this pump product, which is just fantastic. You start with 300mg of Alpha-GPC (this is within the optimal dosage range). A lot of pre-workouts contain this ingredient now, but not at this dosage. This is a great dosage of A-GPC to help improve your drive and focus.
You also get 25mg of Sceletium Tortuosum which is stress reducer (allows you to focus). Optimal dosage is 8-25mg. Look at that…you are getting the high-end of the optima dosage.
Finally, get get 10mg of Huperzine-A. Huperzine-A is a defender against cognitive decline. This helps improve memory and learning. Dosages are optimal at 5-20mg. We get a nice dosage of 10mg here.
Overall, this is one of the best pump profiles we will see. With Vasomax, I experienced increased muscle size and endurance. The more fluids that are transported into your tissue (muscle is tissue) the bigger they will look, but also the more that can be used to prolong exhaustion. Vasomax does a great job with both of these components, one of the best.

You get 10g of fats derived basically from MCT powder (palm kernel oil and coconut oil). There are a lot of research studies on MCT powder, and whether or not coconut oil is a good source of it. You can fall on either side of the coin. All I know is you’re getting 10g of healthy fats to go along with your keto diet.
There’s not a lot of “other” ingredients in this. Yes, it does use sucralose to sweeten the product, but then again, so does 99% of the industry.

In terms of keto, you want more fats in your diet. So if you’re following the keto diet, the 10g of fats from MCT oils is awesome for your goals (fat loss). We still really like the 2018 version after the formula changes. Pitbull Labs Pre-Workout tackles strength, energy and focus. The strength ingredients used are Betaine Anhydrous at 2.5g. This is a clinically backed dosing of an ingredient shown to increase performance per Examine.com. Beta Alanine is dosed at 2.4g, which is just shy of the clinically supported 3.2g. Beta Alanine helps improve muscle endurance. Lastly, you get 2g of Taurine which is dosed than many pre-workouts (typically we see this at 1-1.5g). Taurine has been shown to increase strength output and endurance.
Regarding energy, Pitbull Labs contains Theacrine, Dicaffeine Malate and Caffeine Anhydrous. Theacrine is a modified version of caffeine in which studies have shown that we do not build a tolerance against. This pre-workout is contains 315mg of Theacrine. We then get 155mg of Dicaffeine Malate. Unlike Caffeine Anyhydrous (the most popular caffeine source and the one that gives you that immediate rush), Dicaffeine Malate is more of a slow and steady caffeine that continues to provide a euphoric energy throughout your lift and reduces the change of caffeine crash. Finally, you get 135mg of Caffeine Anhydrous. If you do the math, you get 720mg of Caffeine sources, but don’t worry, it’s not like 720mg of Caffeine Anhydrous. You’ll be fine, but you’ll be ready to kill the weights.
For focus, you do get the dual threat of N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine and DMAE Bitarate. N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine is dosed at 1.5g. We typically see this at 1g. This has been shown to increase cognitive function. Optimal doses are 500-2000mg. DMAE Bitarate has been shown to help reduce the age pigments that impair your cognitive functionality. At 850mg of DMAE, you are getting a very solid dose.

The best part of this pre-workout is the energy complex consisting of three variations of caffeine. This also helps contribute to the focus aspect of the product. Caffeine does a great job of working with our central nervous system to make you think more clear and focus. The combination of the energy and focus components of this pre-workout is very solid.
Regarding strength and endurance, I could complete a 60-minute workout easily and wanted to keep going. Effectively dosing a product really helps with that.
The part that lacked was the pump. Without any pump ingredients in this product, you’d expect that. I do supplement with a pump product when the PWO is lacking ingredients. Overall, I think there is good value is a $40 pre-workout that is effective. The pump complex is 4g of HydroMax (Glycerol), which is one of my favorite ingredients, and Potassium Nitrate. We are not sure how much of each we are getting, although we know both have been shown to improve pumps.
The Mind and Muscle Amplification is only 1g consisting of Choline Bitartrate, Selaginella Tamariscia Extract and Sceletium Tortuosum Extract. Choline is the most popular ingredient used here, but in a prop blend at 1g I would not expect it to be very beneficial.
Overall, the use of HydroMax and Potassium Nitrate is sold for enhancing pumps, but we’re unsure what the dosage is. Regarding the Mind/Muscle Amplification, I didn’t notice any improvement in either categories.

We then look at effectiveness. A high quality protein will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out Salted Caramel.
Mixability refers to how well the protein powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. The 25g of protein starts with cross-flow cold infused micro-filtered whey protein isolate. This basically means, per BodyBuilding.com, is a processing method uses a low temperature micro filtration techniques that allows for the production of very high protein contents (>90%), the retention of important subfractions, extremely low fat and lactose contents, with virtually no undenatured proteins. Then we get Whey Protein Hydrolysate. Whey Protein Hydrolysate is actually an isolate that has been hydrolyzed which means that the protein now will absorb quicker into your blood stream. The cost to do a Hydrolysate sometimes might not be worth it, however. Lastly, the product includes Soy Lecithin. This helps break down the proteins for use in the body.
Isovide contains minima fat at .5g. It also contains less than 1g of carbohydrates. Sodium content is pretty high at 600mg, however.
Overall, we love the quality protein used. If you have issues with lactose or are prepping for a show, or just like faster absorbing protein then this ingredient profile is solid for you. For us, we did not like it as much as he did. It didn’t taste a lot like caramel to me, or salted for that matter. It wasn’t a terrible taste, but we’ve had much better tasting whey protein isolates from competitors. One thing to keep in mind that hydrolysates are minimally better than just plain isolates, and the price premium may not be worth the up cost. Also, if you don’t have issues with lactose then a whey protein concentrate would be just fine.

We then look at effectiveness. A high BCAA product will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Rocket Pop.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. With Swolemate you get 7g of 2:1:1 BCAA ratios. This is a great amount of BCAAs to consume intra-workout. The label actually recommends 2-servings (this would bring your 30-serving container down to 15-servings) so you get 14g of BCAA. A 200lb person generally needs 15-20g of BCAA a day for intense exercise. The one area of concern for us is that it doesn’t state fermented BCAAs on the label. That means these BCAAs could come from bird feathers, beaks, human hair, etc.
On-top-of-the proven 2:1:1 BCAA you get, iForce tosses in several other ingredients you’d typically get in your pre-workout. For one serving you get 1.5g of Beta Alanine. This has been shown to improve muscle endurance. The clinical dosage is 3.2g. With their recommended two-scoop serving you would get a clinical dosed value of Beta Alanine.
Another strength/endurance ingredient you get is Betaine at 1.25g. This is half of the clinical value as well. Again, two scoops you would get 2.5g. This has been shown to increase power output per WebMD.com.
Lastly, you get a pump producing ingredient in L-Cittruline. This has been shown to increase blood flow (the pump is beneficial for muscle-recovery and repair). You get 1g of L-Cittruline. Most pre-workouts are dosed either at the clinical dose of 6g or they come in significantly under that. This would help supplement that.
