We then look at effectiveness. A high quality protein will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out Cookies and Cream.

Mixability refers to how well the protein powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Ingredients Profile

This is a superior protein powder in terms of the sourcing. We pay a premium for grass fed meat because it is higher quality, the same can be said for protein. With only 1g of fat and 4g of carbs (only 3g of NET carbs since there is 1g of Dietary Fiber) ISO-Hungry has a great profile. You get 25g of grass fed protein per serving (serving size is 32.1g) which means that 78% of your serving is protein. The rest comes from the carbs and the fat. There are minimal sugars as well at only 2g. Effectiveness

If you are taking a isolate protein to avoid carbs there are others out there with less but that difference wouldn’t be that big to change the overall effectiveness of the protein. You must know that whey protein isolates must contain at least 90% protein to be labeled a WPI. I love Cookies & Cream but I cannot find a great tasting Cookies & Cream protein powder that reminds me of ice cream. ISO-Hungry Cookies & Cream is the best tasting Cookies & Cream protein powder I have ever had. It is very good. I was pleasantly surprised. With Cookies & Cream you do get the cookie crumbles but you want that…it makes you feel like you’re drinking a Cookies & Cream shake! Value

A 2lb tub of ISO-Hungry retails for $45-$50. If you can do math you know a 4lb container would run you just shy of $100. That’s a lot of money. One of the best whey protein isolates we’ve reviewed on Fitness Informant retails for $80 for a 4lb container. So if you compare it to that then you are not getting a lot of value with ISO-Hungry. However, I realize there is a premium to grass fed anything. Grass fed meat costs more than normal. Organic costs more than normal. Here’s where the subjective comes into play, how much more is it worth to you that it is a grass fed protein? That’s the question.

For someone like me I don’t think I would seek out a grass fed protein powder and pay this kind of premium. If you are looking for a high quality grass fed protein powder then this is a solid bet. If you look across the internet you can find other grass fed proteins for cheaper but then are they using sucralose? Ingredients Profile

For energy and strength, Wake Up Unlimited Energy uses 350mg of Caffeine Anhydrous, 200mg of Asian Ginseng Root Extract which has shown to reduce fatigue in people, 2g of Beta Alanine (clinical dose is 3.2g), and  500mg of Taurine. The Caffeine Anhydrous in one serving is equal to about 3.5 cups of coffee in terms of caffeine, quite the kick and dosed on the high-end of pre-workouts.

For focus Wake Up Unlimited Energy uses 200mg of L-Theanine. There is evidence that the Asian Ginseng Root Extract also makes people feel more alert.

The pump factor of Wake Up Unlimited Energy uses several different common ingredients but also several most are not familiar with. It does start with 3g of L-Citrulline Malate (clinical dose is 6g), 1.1g of L-Arginine HCl, 1.1g of L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate and 5mg of Yohimbine. These are ingredients we are familiar with. The L-Citrulline Malate I thought could be dosed higher as I have seen this as high as 6g. The ingredients we aren’t are Pine Bark Extract (200mg), Grape Seed Extract (250mg) and Chocolate Bean Extract (50mg). Collectively these provide the pump.

Overall we like the use of natural ingredients versus more of the “chemical” ingredients you find in many pre-workouts, however some of the main ingredients are under dosed.

Effectiveness

(7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I will admit when I first got this product and read the label I did not think it would be that effective given it was DMAA/DMHA free and not a lot of ingredients that I recognized. The ones that I did recognize were at dosages less than I had been used too in extremely effective pre-workout supplements (Beta Alanine and L-Cittruline Malate). However, collectively these ingredients at their dosages did OK for me. I am admittedly a stim-junkie (I like stimulant based PWO) and this worked well.

The energy far exceeded my expectations. It also kicked in quickly. I felt a very nice euphoric energy throughout the lift. I even had a nice kick in the beginning.

The pump, again, far exceeded my expectations. I am someone who doesn’t get vascular from any pump ingredients but my muscles do fill up. The combination of the natural ingredients along with the pump ingredients we are familiar with provided a great pump.

The one area that I feel could be improved is the cognitive function area aka focus. I love this part about pre-workouts. I did feel zoned in at the task at hand but I have had other PWOs that provided better cognitive functionality in my opinion. L-Theanine is a popular choice in PWOs for focus but there are other ingredients such as Alpha GPC that offer a better focus.

Overall I liked this PWO for effectiveness. It does as it says. Just to make sure it wasn’t my taste buds I allowed others to try it and the feedback was the same, they didn’t like it. It wasn’t unbearable by any means but it wasn’t good either. I believe this is due to the fact that it includes natural ingredients like Ginseng and Root Extracts.

It is also sweetened with Stevia versus sucralose. I did not get a chance to try Cherry Limeade but I hope that is better. The use of all-natural ingredients, at times, can make it less soluble in water. This is a minor case for this pre-workout. I used a blender bottle for the most part or the contour bottle with the hard ball (Feed Me More Nutrition’s bottle) and there was some residue at the bottom, even after a few vigorous shakes. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in this carbohydrate supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective carbohydrate supplement will use high quality, proven ingredients, at proper dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Strawberry Ice Pop and Unflavored.

Mixability refers to how well the protein powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Ingredients Profile

Straight Dextrose is a less expensive carbohydrate source than say a Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin, but the price point of this product takes that into account. For quality of a carb source this is not the highest on the planet but I don’t believe MAN Sports is claiming it to be. Dextrose is essentially a straight sugar carb source with a 100 GI rating. This means taking it will increase your bodies insulin levels quickly.

Effectiveness

(7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]A typical complaint to Dextrose is that it can quickly spike your insulin levels and leave you feeling bloated. I did not experience any bloat. I also take this post-workout only. The point of taking it post-workout is to spike my insulin levels to help speed up muscle recovery and growth. This may be another reason why I didn’t experience any bloat as my body absorbed the carbs quickly since I was carb deficient. Not to mention Dextrose is a fast absorbing carb source.

One of the main things people look for are an increase amount of endurance (if taken intra-workout), energy and recovery. ISO-Carb does provide you with more endurance and energy as your body quickly absorbs the carbs and uses them for energy. Another area people take a carb product is to gain mass. I was actually taking this while “cutting” but did so because my body still needed a carb source within my anabolic window. ISO-Carb provided that. I let several others try it and the common word that was used was, “refreshing.” Even the ladies who tried it really enjoyed it. One thing I know MAN Sports does a great job on is nailing their flavor profile. Strawberry Ice Pop is no different. Mixability

There was almost no grittyness or chunks left as you’d get with a pre-workout or even some BCAA products. The Dextrose dissolves rather quickly. MAN Sports ISO-Carb comes in around $20 for 30-servings of 30g. When you compare this to other carb sources like Vitargo S2 ($75+) and Karbolyn ($40+ for 40 servings) you really do get a better cost per serving, but you’re also giving up quality on the carb source.

You could also get a plain Dextrose powder in a 5lb container for around $25 or so but that is not the micro-batch process that MAN Sports provides. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at quality of protein used, amount and other ingredients involved in the making of this protein powder.

We then look at effectiveness. A high quality protein will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out Snickerdoodle and Vanilla Cake Batter.

Mixability refers to how well the protein powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Ingredients Profile

You are getting 25g of 100% whey protein isolate. With that you are getting less than 1g of carbs and only 40mg of sodium. The cholesterol comes in at only 1mg as well. You are also getting 5.3g of BCAA per serving. This is a non-GMO protein, lactose free and gluten free. Our goal with a protein is to be high quality, fast absorbing and fast acting. Protolyte does exactly that. You get 100% whey protein isolate which is the second fastest absorbing protein out there (only second to hydrolysate). There is no upset stomach or bloating feeling with this. We liked it a lot more than Snickerdoodle but Snickerdoodle is still very good. They have it available in a 1.9 pound container only at this time. The retail price on this is around $40 so for 4 pounds it can cost you $80. We then look at effectiveness. An effective carbohydrate supplement will use high quality, proven ingredients, at proper dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Blue Razz Watermelon.

You get 50g of carbohydrates derived from potato, rice and corn. Their patent-pending technology gives this carb a differentiator over some of the others in that it is not a simple or a complex carb but it provides absorption like simple carbs (fast) and sustained energy like complex carbs. This carb source is gluten free as well.

The scoop is 53g which means about 3g per scoop is sucralose and artificial flavors, not too bad. We took this during a bulking program to increase mass through the use of fast absorbing carbs. We would take this post-workout. It was absorbed quickly with zero bloating. This was an interesting flavor for us to try but we really enjoyed it. Our carb drink we would consume quickly post workout but had enough water that you were forced to taste it. This was a flavor we could sip on and be perfectly content with. After a couple shakes it would be almost fully diluted. A lot of it depends on how the carb is derived and what type of carb you’re getting. You can get a simple dextrose powder for $20 but that doesn’t provide any long lasting energy benefit like Karbolyn. You can also spend $75-$150 on Vitargo S2 for their technology but you’re essentially getting the same benefit as Karbolyn.

Karbolyn is priced around $1 per serving which we think is really good for a carb. Carbs can be super expensive. This is not the highest quality carb on the market thus why you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for it. It has three different complexes: LH Activation, DHT Inhibition and Andragen Hormone Support. Collectively these three areas target areas of concern when you come off a cycle of prohormone.

​The LH (luteinizing hormone) Activation Complex contains 200mg of Tribulus Extract and 200mg of Shilajitu Powder. This is to improve our overal sexual health. Tribulus helps support libido and erectile function while Shilajitu Powder has been shown to increase sperm levels. Both of these areas take a hit while on a prohormone.

​The DHT Inhibition complex contains 120mg of Saw Palmeto Powder which promotes a healthy prostate and fights against DHT and hair loss. It also contains 120mg of Stinging Nettle Root Powder which promotes a healthy prostate.

Lastly, the Andragen Hormone support contains 50mg of Arimistane. VMI Sports also produces a straight Arimistane product that rates high on our list. This is an estrogen inhibiting agent. You also get 25mg of DHEA which promotes free test production and sexual drive. You get 5mg of Boron which increases your body’s testosterone levels as well.

The one area missing from A-XR is liver and cardiovascular support. Effectiveness

A-XR was a great PCT. It targeting areas of concern when coming off a cycle of a prohormone. Having 50mg of Arimistane is noticeable with an increased sex drive, especially after a cycle. We did not experience any hair loss on our body from the cycle and the DHT Inhiition complex helped with that. We did not get blood tests so we cannot say with 100% certainty that our test levels went back to normal but overall the mood and feeling was great. We did not feel tired or “aged.”

Depending on how long your run a cycle of prohormone you may need more than one bottle of this PCT to get your free test levels and sexual well-being back to normal. The one area that Arimiplex does a great job is maintaining your muscle mass you just gained on your prohormone cycle. It does a great job of lowering cholesterol levels as well. Lastly, controlling estrogen is huge when you come off any cycle and the Arimistne ingredient in this helps control that. We did not see any development of fatty pecs or any other side effect with an increase in estrogen.

The only area that it could have been better in is the promotion of the sexual well-being. This is due to your body trying to produce more natural test after you come off a cycle. As mentioned earlier, you may need more than one bottle, depending on what prohormone you’ve taken and for how long.

We are big fans of 1-Testosterone, while being stacked with Decabolin. We started the cycle weighing in around 202 pounds. Along with this stack and an increased macro centric diet (many more carbs consumed) for bulking we were able to get to 216 pounds in 30-days. YES. No lie. Our Facebook page has the photos to show it. We also want to say that the 216 pound mark was some water weight so we are confident in saying that we gained over 10 pounds on the use of 1-Testosterone. We did see an increase in body fat percentage but that is a given when bulking. Strength did go up on all three major lifts: squat, deadlift and bench.

You need to realize that this is not a magic pill. You will not see gains like these without the proper diet, nutrition and workout. We’ve seen a lot of reviews from others on this product, and other like-products where the person doing the review relied solely on the pill and not hard work and dedication.

The one area of concern with any prohormone is the side effects. There was no increased agitation/rage or acne. There was a decrease in libido since you are putting a product into your body that essentially will be turned into testosterone. Your body recognizes this and stops producing natural testosterone. This is something you must keep in-mind when taking these supplements.

When stacked with 1-Testosterone we went from 202 pounds to 216 pounds in one month! This was also coupled with an increased macro efficient diet (more carbs for muscle building). Body fat levels increased, but very minimally. We realized that the 216 pound mark may have been some water weight, so we are confident in saying that we were able to gain over 10 pounds of muscle mass on this stack.

It is important to note that this is not a magic pill. You cannot take this alone, sit on the couch and expect gains. You must work hard for this to work. Our gains came with an increased caloric diet, increased training intensity (6-days a week doing heavy lifts), and proper nutrition.

The one area of concern with any prohormone is the side effects. There was no increased agitation/rage or acne. There was a decrease in libido since you are putting a product into your body that essentially will be turned into testosterone. Your body recognizes this and stops producing natural testosterone. This is something you must keep in-mind when taking these supplements.
