Overview of KA-POW K.O.

Hero Supplements is a fairly new brand with only three products, as of this review, under their supplement line. They have a pre-workout, a testosterone booster and this pump product.

KA-POW K.O. is an overnight testosterone boosting agent. Unlike test boosters you take with your morning meal or pre-workout, this is taken before bed to help boost your T levels while you sleep. KA-POW K.O. uses many popular ingredients you find in a test booster however it may be under dosed for you. KA-POW K.O. is more reasonably priced than most test boosters so this might be an option for you to ease into the category.

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed KA-POW K.O. on four categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this muscle building supplement. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.

We then look at the dosage of the muscle building supplement. Are they using the ingredients at effective doses? It’s one thing to select awesome ingredients, it’s another to make sure they are being dosed where they are meant to be effective.

We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, dosage, and effectiveness in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of muscle building supplements on the market.

Ingredients Profile

KA-POW K.O. uses many popular ingredients that you find in a lot of the test boosters on the market. They include: Tribulus Terrestris, Fenugreek Seed Extract, Stinging Nettle Extract, DIM and Ashwagandha. The issue we have with this profile is we don’t know what dosage of these individual ingredients we are actually getting. The label claims you are getting 915mg per serving of this proprietary blend. We understand companies like to use proprietary blends to protect their formulas, but others use them as a marketing tool to trick the consumer. I am not saying this is done here but I want to break down several of the ingredients.

Tribulus Terrestris is a herb that promotes increased libido in men. Recommended dosage is 200-450mg per day to be effective. I put this out there because you need to remember that one serving has 915mg total of the proprietary blend.

Fenugreek Seed Extract also comes from a herb thats main purpose is to increase libido as well. To be effective, research shows you should supplement around 500mg of Fenugreek per day to get the mass effect.  If this product is properly dosed then these two ingredients alone would make-up more than what you get per serving.

Ashwagandha is another herb used to treat anxiety and stress. This is a good ingredient to have in an overnight test booster as it will help with sleep. Recommended doses of this is 300-500mg but you can get by with around 100mg since you are taking it prior to sleep.

DIM has been used to metabolize estrogen. This is a good thing if you’re on a test booster. The recommended dosage is around 100mg per day to be effective.

I bring this all up because I feel this proprietary blend is under dosed on certain ingredients, but since it is not disclosed we won’t know which ones. I cannot in good conscious give this a high grade here. I also will not give it a 1 because some of these ingredients are more important than others and could be properly dosed.

KA-POW K.O. also contains 2mg of Melatonin which is great for falling asleep. Dosages of .5mg-5mg are recommended so this is an area that does not concern me.

Outside of the 2mg of Melatonin, I feel that KA-POW K.O. is under dosed. As you’ve already read in our Profile section above, this product contains 925mg of a proprietary blend when proper doses of Tribulus Terrestris is 450mg and Fenugreek Seed Extract is 500mg…these are two very important ingredients that are used in test boosters. If you add up the proper doses of these two ingredients you get 950mg which is more than what you get per serving in KA-POW K.O…and there are more ingredients to account for yet.

KA-POW K.O. claims to increase size, strength, recovery, vitality and libido on the label. Unfortunately with the dosing in this supplement most of this is not going to be possible. If anything, because of the quality of sleep I got with the 2mg of Melatonin, I had improved recovery. I did not experience any increased strength or size that I can attribute to this product. I also did not see any increased libido with this product as I have with other estrogen inhibiting agents.

A good thing about KA-POW K.O. is that it is priced lower than other test boosters on the market. This product retails for under $30. Other test boosters retail in the mid-$30 to $40 or even more. However, because of the dosing in this product I don’t feel they could charge anything more than what they currently do.
