Overview of NutraKey Antler Test
NutraKey is a huge player in the sports nutrition industry known for their promise to quality. NutraKey is well respected by their peers and fitness enthusiasts around the world. NutraKey does not market supplements to the hardcore lifting community but to those who are active in changing their lives for the better through health and wellness.
Antler Test from NutraKey utilizes New Zealand Deer Antler Velvet, plus a test boosting complex to enhance overall performance, energy levels and testosterone. If this is your first experience with Deer Antler Velvet then this might be a good selection for you. The recovery benefits from Deer Antler Velvet alone are worth the investment, however overall this is under dosed in both the Deer Antler Velvet and the test boosting complex.
Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed NutraKey Antler Test on four categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this muscle building supplement. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.
We then look at the dosage of the muscle building supplement. Are they using the ingredients at effective doses? It’s one thing to select awesome ingredients, it’s another to make sure they are being dosed where they are meant to be effective.
We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, dosage, and effectiveness in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of muscle building supplements on the market.
I want to first start by saying the Deer Antler Velvet helped me greatly in my recovery from an ACL tear. After surgery I read more and more about Chinese medicine and the benefits of Deer Antler Velvet. It was also prevalent in the MLB to help with their recovery time.
In Antler Test you are getting New Zealand Deer Antler Velvet, Tribulus Terrestris, Maca Root, Yohimbine, Epimedium Sagittatum and D-AA. These are all great attributes for energy and test boosting capabilities. The important part isn’t necessarily what ingredients are used but what dosage of those ingredients you are getting (more on that later). Overall the ingredients are solid in this bottle.
Chinese medicine has used Deer Antler Velvet for years. Studies have shown in burn patients it helps them recover faster (this is why I used it for my ACL). I can vouch that it works. Tribulus Terrestris is used to enhance your libido. Maca Root increases your sexual desire and sperm count. Yohimbine can aid with fat loss and libido enhancement. Epimedium (Horny Goat Weed) also increases your sexual functions. Lastly, D-AA (D-Aspartic Acid) is shown to increase your body’s natural test levels.
A recommended dosage of Deer Antler Velvet, per Chinese medicine, is 1,000-2,000mg per day. This bottle contains only 375mg of Deer Antler Velvet. Other supplements in this category use around 500mg per serving.
The test boosting complex is also under dosed. You are getting 875mg per serving but it is a proprietary blend, so you don’t know what you are getting of each ingredient. Studies have shown that you should get at least 450mg of Tribulus Terrestris to be effective. This would account for more than half of this proprietary blend if it is properly dosed. You should take 2,000-3,000mg of D-AA per day for it to be effective. I think you can see where I am going here.
I wanted to love this product. I was really hoping it would have given me the same effect as the Deer Antler Velvet I took while recovering from ACL surgery. However, due to the dosage, I did not get that same effect.
I found out that the primary purpose of this supplement is to increase your libido and sexual performance. I can’t say that I saw any increase or improvement in these areas. I know I did not experience any strength gains from this or size. I am also over 200lbs so I know I need a higher dosage of these ingredients to be effective for me.
Antler Test retails for around $30. It does not have enough Deer Antler Velvet to be effective and the test boosting complex is under dosed compared to some well represented test boosters on the market. Unfortunately, at that price tag, I do not feel it is of huge value to the consumer. I would look into a liquid Deer Antler Velvet and a higher quality test booster if that’s what you’re looking for.
