You’ll mostly find Boswellia in joint health supplements. One study which used an extract of Boswellia, was done on people in the age range of 45-64. These people were suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. After 90 days, the patients using Boswellia reported more pain relief than those who took a placebo. This study was done with an extract which contained 30% boswellic acid (the active component of Boswellia), and the subjects used 250mg daily.

While Turmeric is usually a good place to start for natural joint health/anti-inflammatory, Boswellia may be another solid option worth looking into if you’re in the market.

Interactions with Boswellia Serrate

You’ll typically find Boswellia paired with other joint health ingredients such as Turmeric, Glucosamine, and Hyaluronic Acid.

Boswellia with a 30% extract, like the one mentioned in the study above, only needs to be dosed around 250mg per day, whereas the straight Boswellia powder will need to be dosed around 2.5 grams daily.
