Many of those keen to the industry knows that these giants can focus more on bottom line profit than innovative product. However, MuscleTech is showing that they want to get back to being an innovative company. CellTech Next Gen is one of their first new products featuring some unique ingredients.

CellTech Next Gen is still a creatine based post-workout powder featuring a new ingredient called CinDura and a carb blend. They tout a 4:1:1 BCAA inclusions but it’s nothing to get excited about since the amounts are too low. Overall, this is a step in the right direction, but still just a more expensive creatine version. If CinDura studies continue to be done by 3rd parties and proven effective than this could be a really solid staple product.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/nE2fB-mq-_E” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” bg_color=”#2e2e2e” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”padding-5-percent” column_padding_position=”all” background_color=”#efefef” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_color_hover=”#ffffff” background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”medium_depth” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”2px” column_border_color=”#000000″ column_border_style=”solid”]

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this muscle building supplement. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.

We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

After that, we tackle taste. Taste is judged on two parts. One, does it taste like the label name and two, how does it taste? The flavor we were able to test was Extreme Gummy Worm.

Then we judge the sleep aid on mixability. The mixability test is how well does the powder dissolve in 8-12oz of water in a Blender Bottle.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of muscle supplements on the market.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”]

Ingredients Profile

(7.5/10)[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]CellTech was a huge name from MuscleTech in sports nutrition for year. They revived it with CellTech Next Gen. We look at the 1-scoop formula.

The formula starts with the clinical dosage of Creatine Monohydrate at 5g. This is probably one of the most well-studied, effective ingredients used.

Next, we get 1.5g of Betaine. Betaine helps with muscle recovery post-workout, and it also helps contribute to strength output. In a pre-workout you will see this at 2.5g, but post-workout 1.5g is sufficient.

CinDura is the newest ingredient MuscleTech is featuring. We get 400mg here. MuscleTech has the exclusive use of this ingredient. Featured studies show that the 1RM went up significantly with the usage group vs. placebo group. These studies were done by the creators of the ingredient. We need 3rd party studies to validate these claims. CinDura is definitely promising, but any realistic individual needs more studies.

Phosphatidic Acid (PA) is used next at 150mg. PA has been shown to increase muscle mass and strength in the user groups.  This study was conducted using 750mg. There was another study conducted using 750mg as well.  PA is a solid ingredient, you just need more than 150mg (a minimum of 200mg – so at 2-scoops you’d be set) to be really effective.

Next is the 4:1:1 BCAA complex. There is 2g Leucine and 500mg of Isoleucine and Valine. This isn’t a huge dosage of BCAA, but at two scoops you are now getting 6g total which is more respectable. BCAAs can aid in muscle recovery when the presence of other EAAs exist.

MuscleTech tosses in 1g of Taurine. This is a good dosage of Taurine that is typically used in a pre-workout to help with strength. We also get L-Alanine which provides energy for muscle tissue at 500mg. Alpha-Lipoic Acid is used at 100mg. This helps metabolize energy and fat loss – but you need significantly more dosage than 100mg (at least 300mg).

Lastly they toss in an electrolyte blend that we are not going to spend a lot of time on.

Overall, this is better at 2-scoops but then you get too much creatine. If they were designing this product to be a 2-scoop product, they should have reduced creatine. At 2-scoops this would turn into a 15-serving as well.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”]

Effectiveness

(7/10)[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]You don’t feel any “effect” from this product like yo would with a pre-workout. You also are not going to see these huge gains that the CinDura study refers too since it is a one scoop formula. At 2-scoops this is going to be much more effective with the ingredients and the dosages but then that isn’t necessarily truthful to the # of servings listed on the container.

Overall, this is a fancy creatine product that will work at replenishing those levels, which is much needed, but at one scoop doesn’t supply a lot of anything else at sufficient doses.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”]

Taste

Extreme Gummy Worm: (3/10)[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text]

Maybe it is because of all the ingredients used, but this does not taste good at all. There is a weird chemical taste too it that makes it hard to drink. Being a bigger company like MuscleTech, I would think they would be able to get their flavor house in-line and get this right. They maybe went to market too soon because it needs work.

Mixability

(7/10)[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]

When you look at the raw powder, it looks like there are dark specs in it for some odd reason. When you mix it up, you don’t get visuals of these specs, per se, but yo do get particles that float within the water. I used a full shaker cup as well as I would consume this intra-workout. It doesn’t fully dissolve in liquid and you;ll get residue at the bottom of your cup.

Check out our video for the full mixability test.

Value

(6/10)[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]I think MT designed this product for a 2-scoop serving size which would make it 15-servings for $40 which is out-of-line for a muscle recovery powder. At 1-scoop it is 30-servings and sufficient on some ingredients but not all like PA, for example. Using as-is, at 30-servings, this is still quite spendy for an “enhanced” creatine formula. There is promise here as the ingredients used are great, we just need optimal dosing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”]
