Quietly RAW Nutrition has updated their formula for their top-rated intra-workout product. In order to fully understand the update we need to cross reference the old label and do some math.
Version 1 of Intra from RAW Nutrition featured several ingredients not found in version 2. Version 1 had D-Ribose, Betaine Anhydrous, Grape Seed Extract and ALA. Version 2 does not. Version 2 focuses more on HBCD (Highly Branched Cluster Dextrin).
Version 1
Version 2
When we look at the amount of HBCD per container, version 1 had 500g total in a container. Version 2 has 750g per container. Both V1 and V2 are the same price. What does this mean to you? As a consumer, you are forgoing D-Ribose, Betaine Anhydrous, Grape Seed Extract and ALA for an extra 250g of the highest quality carb source currently.
Other slight changes were the addition of more coconut water powder and magnesium (as TRAACS) but a reduction in Himalayan Pink Salt.
Version 2 is currently available online at RawNutrition.com. Use code INFORMANT to save 10%.

Final Takeaway
It was a quiet change, but it is our job to look into it. Yes, you are getting more HBCD overall for the same price, which to me is a good thing. However, there is some good stuff in D-Ribose so it is sad to see that go. I won't necessarily miss Betaine and ALA, so overall I think it is a slight upgrade with Version 2 from Version 1.
