Revive MD GI+: Support Your Gut

revivemd

We may as well be called Broken Record Informant, because we say this every time we do one of these articles for Revive MD. Revive MD is the brand you should be taking. In an industry filled with stim-laden pre-workouts, sketchy prohormones, and glorified caffeine pills disguised as fat burners, Revive MD is here to remind you that you are human, no matter how immortal you feel at the gym

Today, we are looking at GI+, which is a gut health supplement from Revive MD. Now typically when you see gut health supplements, you think fiber, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. Now do not mistake this for a simple digestive aid.. This takes a much different approach than just selling you some bromelain and acidophilus.

GI+ is a gut health supplement that takes a different approach. The main goal of GI+ is to help with the integrity of your gut lining, and it uses some ingredients that are actually quite popular, however get drowned out by people who simply push unproven probiotics in your face. With that said, let’s take a look at the ingredients.

Ingredient Profile

N-Acetyl-Glucosamine – 1g

The first ingredient in GI+ is N-Acetyl-Glucosamine, which has a variety of uses. It is actually found in the outer shells of shellfish. It is included in GI+ as it has actually shown to be beneficial for treating IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). It may help aid with the lining of the gut, an approach you do not see very often in gut health supplements. While more research needs to be done, it certainly has some promise.

You get 1 gram of N-Acetyl-Glucosamine in GI+.

Apple Pectin – 1g

Apple Pectin is the next ingredient in here, and it is actually more popular than one would think. Apple Pectin is a type of fiber found in the cellular walls of plants. Essentially, this is a prebiotic, which helps create an optimal environment for healthy gut bacteria (probiotics).

FIt Butters

You get 1 gram of Apple Pectin in GI+.

Arabinogalactins – 750mg

Now this is a fun one to try to pronounce… Arabinogalactans. This is a complex carbohydrate, found in plants. To keep this simple, it is another prebiotic, and is nice to see in here.

You get 750mg in GI+.

Soy Lecithin – 500mg

Soy Lecithin is up next, and you find this in quite a lot of products for various reasons. While Soy Lecithin has been shown to aid with healthy cholesterol levels, which is what you mainly see it advertised as. With that said Soy Lecithin may be good for people with ulcerative colitis by helping with mucus in the intestine.

You get 500mg of Soy Lecithin in GI+.

Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice – 400mg

Now we come to a very underrated ingredient, and we expect to see this one in many GI products coming to the market in the near future. DGL has long been used as a way to aid with acid reflux, which is due to DGL showing itself to increase mucus (common theme with this product).

Another study done in 2018 showed that DGL was effective at suppressing symptoms of heart burn/GERD.

You get 400mg in GI+, which is a solid dose.

Cinnamon Powder – 350mg

Cinnamon powder is quite popular, and you certainly taste it in GI+, in fact it actually is quite a pleasant addition in terms of taste for GI+. Cinnamon is popular for its blood sugar benefits, and it has some good research supporting it. It is also a source of antioxidants, and it may actually reduce LDL cholesterol.

You get 350mg in Revive MD, which is a solid dose.

Green Tea (Decaffeinated) – 250mg

Now we could go on a long rant as to why Green Tea is awesome. We’ll keep it short and simple here. Green Tea is a source of antioxidants such as ECGC and Epicatechin. With that said, Green tea has actually shown in vitro to aid with healthy gut bacteria. While more studies need to be done for this, the addition is good either way.

You get 250mg in GI+, which is a solid dose.

Astaxanthin – 250mcg

Finally we come to Astaxanthin, which is a known antioxidant, typically found in certain types of fish. It has some backing in mice for reducing inflammation in the gut, and even without that it is a very beneficial supplement to take.

At 250mcg, you are getting a solid dose.
