The legacy of John Meadows lives on through his family, his teachings, his YouTube channel, his spirit and his supplement line Granite Supplements. In some very exciting news, the brand is launching a new peanut butter based protein bar in three delicious flavors: Salted Caramel, Cookies 'N' Cream and Peanut Butter Chocolate.
The new protein bars from Granite Supplements are nut butter based, specifically peanut butter. They are also coated in a small layer of chocolate or white chocolate.
Cookies 'N' Cream features a white chocolate coating with a cookies 'n' cream interior with real chocolate sandwich cookies. They also feature whey protein crisps for added crunch. The macros on Cookies 'N' Cream are less than other peanut butter based bars on the market. Each Cookies 'N' Cream Granite protein bar contains 250 calories, 12g fats, 25g carbs (from nuts, honey, coating and cookies) and 17g protein from whey protein isolate. This flavor is pretty stellar in terms of a cookies 'n' cream bar.
Peanut Butter Chocolate features a chocolate coating with more peanut butter interior and just a chocolate coating. You can think "Reese's" but the taste is very different. The macros are 260 calories, 13g fats, 24g carbs and 17g protein.
The last flavor, Salted Caramel features a white chocolate coating. This is one of the more unique flavors we've ever tried at FI. It is actually one of our favorite flavors of proteins bars we've ever had. The white chocolate coating works very well with this flavor, but the caramel flavor that comes through is unlike anything we've tried before. It was our favorite of the three. The macros are 260 calories, 12g fats, 24g carbs and 17g protein.
The new Granite Protein Bars go on-sale Monday, May 9th from the Granite Supplement's website and select retailers.
Final Takeaway
I was very impressed with these bars. At first when I heard they were doing a bar, I was hoping it wasn't going to be their beef blend protein that they sell, but I did like their flavor profiles. Salted Caramel is one of their most popular flavors of powders so it only made sense to put it in a bar, which is spectacular. I do wonder how these will withstand the heat and higher temperatures of summer, but if they can limit the melting of the coating I think they have a very nice thing on their hands. Salted Caramel and Cookies 'N' Cream are the top two with Peanut Butter Chocolate as another safe selection.
