AstroFlav is taking things up a notch with the launch of their new protein powder called IsoMix. IsoMix is not your typical whey protein powder. AstroFlav teamed up with Arla Foods Ingredients to formulate IsoMix with a blend of Arla's trademarked Lacprodan® BLG-100 and whey protein isolate.

Whey More Potent. This is the tag line that Arla Foods is using to describe their Lacprodan® BLG-100 protein. AstroFlav is taking advantage of that by putting it in their new IsoMix protein powder.
IsoMix will come in two flavors featuring 24g of fully disclosed protein. In one of the first products to contain Arla Foods’ Lacprodan® BLG-100, AstroFlav IsoMix will give users a blend of Lacprodan® BLG-100 and whey protein isolate. Users will get 13.35g of Lacprodan® BLG-100 whey protein isolate which will yield 12g protein. In addition, AstroFlav will also use instantiated whey protein isolate at 13.33g yielding 11.9g protein.
Understandably there may be confusion on how Lacprodan® BLG-100 whey protein isolate differs from traditional whey protein isolate. Lacprodan® BLG-100 by Arla Foods actually contains 45% more Leucine than commercially available whey protein. Leucine is the driver of mTor and initiates MPS (Muscle Protein Synthesis). In addition BLG-100 contains 26% more EAA vs. traditional whey.
This is important because you can get more out of a smaller dosage in terms of essential amino acid content while still getting the benefits of a larger serving size.
The one thing users might notice with a BLG-100 infused product is more foaming during the shaking process (due to higher Leucine content) and it may need slightly more time to settle down.
AstroFlav also adds Coconut Creamer and MCT Oil Powder for healthy fats, flavor and mouth feel.
Users will also get 1g of Inulin. Research suggests that inulin, as a prebiotic, can improve gut flora and decreasing inflammation in the gut.
The new AstroFlav IsoMix will come in two flavors, Vanilla and Chocolate. The tubs are just over two pounds and contain 28 servings per container.

Actually innovation in the protein space is nice. I did try this version of protein in a small concentrated form at the Olympia in 2023. It was very different but they packed I believe 30g of protein into a small shot. There's a lot of time, research, energy and money behind Lacprodan® BLG-100. It will be interesting to see how many more brands follow suit, but I like the innovation and use here.
