BEAM Pre-Workout: A Pre-Workout That Isn’t A Simple Stim-Bomb

BEAM Pre-Workout is a new pre-workout to hit the market, and it is set to hit the market running. The people behind the brand are very passionate people with over 30 years of experience in the supplement industry.

BEAM Pre-Workout

New brands these days seem to simply go on Google, look at what everyone else is doing and simply add more of an ingredient. Well, BEAM has the experience to be able to formulate a pre-workout that doesn’t have excessive amounts of stimulants or ridiculous amounts of Caffeine in them. As you will see, the BEAM Pre-Workout provides a solid pre-workout with a moderate dose of Caffeine, and efficaciously dosed ingredients.

BEAM Pre-Workout Profile

BEAM uses its experience in the industry in a good way, to benefit the consumer, by formulating a well-rounded pre-workout that will enhance your performance in the gym.

L-Citrulline – 5g

BEAM PreCitrulline is a very common ingredient for pre-workouts, and it is usually the first ingredient on just about every pre-workout label these days, and for good reason. Citrulline converts to Arginine, which increases Nitric Oxide. This will help with pumps. At 5 grams, it is dosed well.

CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine – 3.2g

Beta-Alanine is a precursor to Carnosine, and it is used for endurance. To keep it simple, it buffers lactic acid during exercise, and is pretty much just as common as Citrulline in pre-workouts. At 3.2 grams, it is at the clinical dose.

Betaine Anhydrous – 3g

Betaine Anhydrous is a common ingredient in pre-workout supplements, and has gained popularity in recent years. It has been shown to be beneficial for increasing power output. At 3 grams, it is dosed well.

Taurine – 2g

We have seen Taurine added to many products in recent years, and for good reason. It aids in blood flow and can prevent cramping. At 2 grams, it is dosed well.

L-Tyrosine – 2g

Now we get to our first nootropic ingredient. Tyrosine is a precursor to catecholamines such as dopamine, and has been shown to aid in focus. It is one of the first ingredients recommended for focus. At 2 grams, it is dosed very well.

KSM-66® Ashwagandha – 300mg

KSM-66 is a trademarked form of Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is a popular ingredient used for reducing stress/cortisol. At 300mg, it is dosed well in BEAM Pre.

Caffeine (from Coffeeberry®) – 250mg

Caffeine is by far the most popular ingredient in any pre-workout, and it really needs no introduction. Of course, Caffeine gives you energy, and at 250mg, is actually slightly lower than the average pre-workout these days, which is actually a good thing in our eyes. It should provide a solid boost in energy for the vast majority of people.

One thing to note is that this source of Caffeine is not your typical Caffeine Anhydrous. Caffeine in BEAM Pre-Workout is derived from Coffeeberry, a FutureCeuticals ingredient that not only positively impacts your workout, but the planet as well. This is a natural source of Caffeine that will provide the same impact as Caffeine Anhydrous.

Cocoa Extract – 250mg

Cocoa extract is a source of Theobromine. Theobromine is a xanthine, similar to Caffeine, however not as strong. It has been shown to increase energy without increasing blood pressure.

Grape Seed Extract – 200mg

Grape Seed Extract is nice to see here. It is an ingredient that is used for lowering blood pressure. It is used generally to assist in generating a fuller pump. At 200mg, it is dosed well.

L-Theanine – 100mg

Theanine has been making its way into more and more pre-workouts these days. People tend to call Theanine the “mood enhancing:” ingredient. Alone it can be a sedative, but when combined with stimulants it can prevent jitters/anxiety some people may experience from stimulants such as Caffeine and Yohimbine. The 100mg dosage is solid.

AstraGin® – 50mg

AstraGin® increases the bioavailability of other ingredients. This means you will essentially use the ingredients better than without AstraGin®. At 50mg, it is dosed well.

Resveratrol – 40mg

Resveratrol is an antioxidant found in grapes. It has been shown to aid in heart health. It certainly isn’t common in pre-workouts, and is usually sold as a standalone, so it is interesting to see in here, but we are not opposed to it being included in the pre-workout formula.

Final Takeaway

Ryan: I have had the pleasure of using this pre-workout several times since I received it. Although this is not our full, in-depth review, I can say that I enjoyed it. You have solid energy and focus, with a good pump. The flavor is well-done, like most watermelon flavors. I do like that it does not have a huge amount of stimulants. This helps prevent a crash. Your energy levels should be sustained through your workout.

Gerhard: Overall, I like the pre-workout. It is dosed well where it needs to be, such as the Citrulline, Betaine, and Tyrosine, while also not being a stim bomb. The dose of 250mg of Caffeine is intriguing as the standard has been 300mg+ for so long. While this pre-workout isn’t anything groundbreaking, it looks solid and should be great for those who aren’t looking for a stim bomb every time they workout.
