The first two new products for Cellucor's Project Clear Evolution have been revealed by the brand! Cellucor is going to be launching two new versions of their C4 Extreme! One version is going to be C4 Extreme and the other will be C4 Extreme Natural Zero.
The two new versions of C4 Extreme bode some major attractive features. They are:
- No artificial colors
- No artificial flavors
- Fully transparent label
- NO proprietary blends
- Innovative ingredients
- Enhanced formulas
Many consumers are becoming cognizant of artificial flavors and colors, so this is a big step in the direction of being more consumer driven in terms of their innovation. The best selling pre-workout, C4 Original, features a proprietary blend, but the brand is moving towards consumer trends of being fully transparent, something we applaud here at FI.
C4 Extreme
C4 Extreme Naturally Zero
The active ingredients in both C4 Extreme and C4 Extreme Naturally Zero are exactly the same. Both labels feature 2g of CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine for muscular endurance. The main callout ingredient is 1g Citrulline Nitrate (NitraMax as NO3-C) which is something we have not seen here at Fitness Informant before. As a nitrate based ingredient with Citrulline, it is targeting two pathways for the pump. Creatine Nitrate (as NO3-T) is used at 1g, an ingredient used by Cellucor before which will also aid in pump. Each version will feature 200mg Caffeine Anhydrous. NALT or N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine is dosed at 200mg, which aids in focus. The last active ingredient used is 50mcg Huperzine A, which contributes to focus.
The main difference between the two new products is how they are sweetened. The both have naturally colors and flavors, but the C4 Extreme Naturally Zero is sweetened with Stevia instead of the traditional Sucralose commonly used (and used in C4 Extreme). This is something Cellucor has introduced over the past several months, even releasing a naturally sweetened RTD beverage called Cellucor C4 Energy Natural Zero Carbonated.
Each version will have their own flavor set.
C4 Extreme:
- Icy Blue Razz
- Fruit Punch
- Midnight Cherry
- Twisted Limeade
- Watermelon
- Ultra Frost
C4 Extreme Naturally Zero:
- BlueBerry Lemonade
- Cherry Limeade
The two new versions of C4 Extreme, as part of Project Clear Evolution, will not replace any current Cellucor pre-workout product.
The new versions of C4 Extreme will be available at retailers on July 15th.

Fitness Informant's POV
Truthfully we had not used many of Cellucor's products until lately. They have done some pretty neat innovation and have improved the quality of their supplements overall. This is just another consumer-first innovation by the brand. Removing artificial colors and flavors is a big step in the right direction as more and more consumers want that.
I love the addition of the two nitrate-based ingredients. We've seen Creatine Nitrate before, but have never seen Citrulline Nitrate. We will be diving deeper into this ingredient as part of a broader education piece. With 2g of nitrate-included ingredients, it should provide a pump.
We have received samples here at FI that we will run to give instant feedback on the pre-workout from our real-life experience. Sign-up below to be alerted when that becomes available.
