GHOST simplified their process by updating GHOST Legend to be globally compliant, while maintaining the integrity of the pre-workout.

Citrulline – 6,000mg

Citrulline remains unchanged from previous versions of GHOST Legend. GHOST adds 6,000mg of pure citrulline per serving. Citrulline is the precursor to arginine. What this means is when you consume citrulline your body will convert it to arginine which will trigger nitric oxide. The results are improved blood flow into the muscles that will help improve overall performance, output and your pump.

Citrulline also helps with muscular recovery as it brings nutrient rich blood into the muscles.

Beta-Alanine – 3,200mg

Beta-alanine remains at 3,200mg per serving in GHOST Legend. Beta-alanine is one of the most well studied ingredients for safety and performance benefits. Beta-alanine is the ingredient that most consumers know best (outside of caffeine) as it can cause paresthesia, more commonly known as “the tingles.”

Beta-alanine helps buffer lactic acid. This essentially improves muscle endurance. The results of this can be longer, more intense workouts which can aid in body composition.

For users who are new to working out, beta-alanine may also minimize muscle soreness from your workouts.

Betaine Anhydrous – 2,500mg

Betaine anhydrous is utilized again at 2,500mg. Betaine Anhydrous is used in many pre-workouts for its performance benefits. It helps with hydration and intracellular water retention, which can make muscles feel fuller, but it won’t create the same acute vasodilation effect as pump-focused ingredients. It’s main benefit comes in the form of improved strength and power output.

Betaine has been shown to improve muscular endurance, performance and power. This means getting more out of each rep and each set. This level of output will lead to better opportunities for muscle growth.

L-Tyrosine – 2,000mg

Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that is used in pre-workout formulations for its impact on cognition and focus. Tyrosine aids in the production of dopamine. Tyrosine helps maintain or elevate cognitive performance, improving the mind-muscle connection. We see tyrosine dosed at 1,000-2,000mg per serving in most pre-workouts. Vita Choline – 1,000mg

VitaCholine® is a branded form of choline L-bitartrate. VitaCholine is a precursor to acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter involved in memory, learning, muscle contraction, and nervous system function. VitaCholine has been shown to improve focus, memory and improve muscle contractions at dosages around 500mg. We typically see this dosed between 250-500mg in pre-workout formulas. GHOST doubles the typical dosage we see in this pre-workout, which is the same dosage they used in previous versions of GHOST Legend.

Natural Caffeine – 200mg

Caffeine content is one of the changes to the globally compliant version of GHOST Legend. Previous versions had 300mg of natural caffeine. GHOST elected to lower the dosage of caffeine for two reasons. The first is many countries do not allow over 200mg caffeine in a supplement. The second is that they wanted to create a bigger divide between GHOST Legend and GHOST Legend All Out. GHOST Legend All Out is 400mg caffeine per serving. The 200mg caffeine dosage also can be tolerated by a larger portion of the population making it a solid choice for an everyday pre-workout.

Theobromine – 100mg

Theobromine is a metabolite of caffeine. It can help elevate body temperature and act as a thermogenic. Since it stems from caffeine it has stimulatory effects just not nearly as strong. The true benefit of theobromine in a pre-workout is the long half-life. Theobromine contribute to sustained energy after caffeine’s strongest effects begin fading due to the half-life of 6-10 hours. The 100mg dosage is sufficient.

I completely understand why GHOST went with the change. Creating special formulas for all the countries you sell into isn't sustainable as you scale to the size of GHOST. GHOST had to reduce caffeine and remove NeuroFactor and Senativ to be globally compliant. Even with the changes this is still an effective pre-workout formula that all can benefit from.
