One of the most iconic sports nutrition brands ever, MusclePharm, is set to be sold at a public auction on December 15, 2022. In documents obtained by Fitness Informant, a "Notification of Disposition of Collateral at a Public Sale" indicates that the MusclePharm brand will be sold at a public sale in an auction format.
Sherwood Partners, Inc will conduct the sale of MusclePharm's assets on December 15, 2022 at the law offices of Garman Turner Gordon LLP. The documents state that the collateral will be sold by the Collateral Agent to the bidder that submits the highest and best bid. The winning bidder will have until December 20, 2022, to close the public sale.
Several descriptions of collateral are defined in the documents obtained by Fitness Informant. They include:
- All accounts
- All deposit accounts
- All intellectual property and all licenses
- All equipment
- All fixtures
- All inventory
- All investment properties
- Plus many more
Notable trademarks owned by MusclePharm include the iconic logo, the word mark "MP", Fitmiss and more. The sale also includes other foreign marks.
The sale will also include all social media outlets, the domain name musclepharm.com, shares in Canda's MusclePharm Enterprises Corp., trade secrets, marketing material and more.
The news of the public sale of MusclePharm comes days after Fitness Informant learned that Eric Hillman was taking over the duties as CEO. Eric Hillman is the co-founder of Europa Sports, the largest distributor of sports nutrition products. Sources tell FI that Eric Hillman has been acting CEO for MusclePharm before the announcement of the sale.

Final Takeaway
MusclePharm is one of the most wonderful disasters to ever happen. I remember when I first discovered the brand, the iconic green colors, the MP...Assault, Combat, etc. They made a pre-workout that rivaled NOXplode. They grew so quick so fast. They had Tiger Woods. They had Shawne Merriman. They had it all. Then they didn't. I am not shocked that this is happening. I am not sure what the highest bidder's plan for this company would be - but I think there are still legs here to stand on and a rebound COULD potentially work. I am interested in learning more and getting other "insiders" POV on this news and the impending sale of MusclePharm.
