Many think that the supplement industry is simply there to benefit those who are trying to live a healthy lifestyle, or get more gains in the gym. Well, it may have been so several years ago, but the industry is shifting. With the gaming world becoming bigger than ever, even bigger than some traditional sports, you can bet that the sports nutrition industry is here to make an impact.
With competitive gamers looking for an edge, it is no wonder that gaming supplements are becoming more and more popular. Don’t be fooled, these gaming supplements are usually just nootropics, however the good ones are formulated slightly differently. Sitting down and playing video games (depending on the game) is a bit different than working on a task at work or going to the gym. You need the right kind of energy and alertness.
Good gaming supplements have to play on that fine line of providing energy and focus, without cracking the gamer out or causing jitters. Also, too much energy can increase “nerves”, which can hurt you in a sweaty lobby with the game on the line. Intense “nerves” can ruin any focus you may have and throw you off when it counts.
With all of this said, we have some Gamers here on FI. Good enough to judge products and see how they feel. Not even just while gaming but also in their day-to-day lives. Here is a list of products we have tried and reviewed, which we feel are the best nootropics for gaming that money can buy. There are a lot out there, these are some that we have personally used and tested.

Pros
Cons
Glytch Energy Pro Series is a powerhouse of a formula, and has certainly deserved a spot on this list. Let’s get some basics out of the way first, the flavors are solid and there are plenty of interesting options. Also to save some time, every ingredient in here is dosed well at the 2 scoop dosage.
The profile starts off with NooLVL at 1.6g, an ingredient that has been proven to help gamers play at a higher level longer. Following this you get Tyrosine, which helps with dopamine production. It is a popular nootropic, and at 1g is a solid dose. Another ingredient you find here is Taurine, which is popular in energy drinks and energy supplements. It can help with blood flow and hydration.
Of course you need some focus ingredients in a gaming product, so Glytch has added two high quality forms of choline. The first one is Citicholine as Cognizin at 250mg, as well as 300mg of AlphaSize, which is Alpha GPC. Both are superior to Choline Bitartrate, and it’s great to see both in Glytch Energy. You also get 100mg of Theanine, which can help prevent jitters and keep you calm in high stress situations.
Next up we have Caffeine at 200mg in the form of InnovaGREEN. This is Caffeine sourced from green coffee beans and tea. Caffeine is a very personal ingredient so your tolerance will dictate how you handle the jitters. The theanine that we mentioned before should stave that off. Next up you get the combo of TeaCrine and Dynamine, which help with energy. Both of these ingredients are from Compound Solutions, and can help you with energy while preventing a crash. Following this you get Raw coconut powder, which can help with hydration.
The last blend consists of AstraGin and FloraGLO. AstraGin is an ingredient from NuLiv Science which can help with absorption and it also helps reduce inflammation in the gut. FloraGLO is a source of Lutein, which is an antioxidant that helps with eye health.
Overall, this is a stacked formula that is well worth a try for people who take eSports seriously. As of right now, this is the most loaded formula in the category. There are plenty of flavors to choose from and most people who use Glytch end up staying with them.
Who Makes It?
Glytch is certainly an up and comer in the gaming category. They have been doing things right by sponsoring smaller streamers and really building a community around them. They have based every product around gaming, and certainly aim to make quality product for every type of gamer.

Pros
Cons
Now this was our #2 best nootropic on another list, however for this category, we find it to be the best. Gaming requires a bit of a different type of energy, and GHOST Gamer delivers on that more than any other product on this list. The formula is well-rounded, and delivers that solid boost in energy and focus, without being overbearing. We certainly noticed more “Ultra Instinct” moments while playing, where you react and do well without really thinking about doing anything.
The formula starts off with 1.6 grams of NooLVL®, which is an ingredient from Nutrition21® that has been studied on actual gamers. This ingredient on its own is impressive, however when combined with everything else in Gamer, just works out great. The next ingredient in here is Taurine at 1 gram, which not only helps with blood flow and hydration, but also muscle-nerve function as well.
Cognizin® Citicholine is the next ingredient in here, and it is a great one. Citicholine is a high quality form of choline, and it can help with focus. You also get a solid dose of Caffeine at 150mg in 2 scoops. Round this out with AstraGin for absorption and Theobromine, and you have yourself a solid product that stands above the rest on the current market.
Not only does Gamer have an awesome formula, it also has some of the best flavoring on the market. Currently, they have 4 flavors, with more on the way. These include Peach, SPK Redberry, Warheads Sour Watermelon, and Swedish Fish. For having some of the best flavoring on the market, along with a profile that can be used by many gamers out there, it deserves to be #1 on this list currently.

GHOST is a fully transparent brand in the supplement industry. They are more than a supplement brand, they are a lifestyle (that's really what they are going for). They could easily attract consumers with their amazing YouTube Channel and marketing campaigns, which they do, but they keep them with their quality formulas and products.

Pros
Cons
AdvancedGG has made waves over the past couple of years. With the gaming category growing faster and faster, many brands will jump at the opportunity to launch underdosed flavored caffeine to unassuming gamers. Well AdvancedGG has a popular product that not only tastes great, but has a solid profile to boot.
AdvancedGG Focus easily gets a spot on this list, as it has a solid range of well-dosed proven ingredients that can certainly help gamers with their performance. The formula starts off with a clinical dose of NooLVL, which is an ingredient from Nutrition21 that has been shown to help gamers play better for a longer period of time. Following this you get 300mg of Alpha GPC, which is a high quality form of choline. Following this you get Choline bitartrate, another form. To keep it simple, choline is a neurotransmitter that can help with focus.
Of course everyone is looking for a boost in energy with these kinds of supplements, and Focus gives you 200mg of natural Caffeine, which is a nice dose. To counteract any potential negative side effects from Caffeine you also get a 100mg of Theanine. Theanine can help calm you down, and can help with focus when combined with Caffeine.
The next two ingredients are Ginseng and Astaxanthin are solid additions for overall health. Astaxanthin is known for being a powerful antioxidant, and it’s great to see a brand have health in mind and not just stims and focus.
Finally we have Black Pepper extract and Huperzine. Black Pepper can help with the absorption of some ingredients, whereas Huperzine is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which means it prevents choline from being broken down in your brain. Both are dosed well in Focus.
Now of course, formula alone will not land you a spot on this list. Focus not only delivers with effectiveness and profile, they also have a lot of choices when it comes to flavors. We also have to mention that their flavors are solid, and if one sounds good to you, you will more than likely enjoy it!
Focus is a solid choice when it comes to gaming, and it is certainly worth trying out for yourself. Certainly worthy of this list!

#4 NOOB Energy
- Rating: 8.4 out of 10
- Servings: 1
- Best For: Decision Energy

Pros
Cons
NOOB Energy is a newer brand to the gaming scene, and they certainly took their own approach to their products. Instead of being a simple energy drinker underdosed Nootropic, they created a gaming RTD that truly feels different from the rest. While of course the usual ingredients are there, such as the Caffeine, Alpha GPC, and NALT... one ingredient truly sets it apart.
NOOB surprised us with its use of Theanine. While the ingredient wasn't a surprise, the amount was. You get a whopping 500mg of Theanine in here! You usually get about 50mg-200mg in many products, well, NOOB decided to go balls to the wall with this dose. At first, we thought it would just put us to sleep and not really help, however that is if you use it as a pick-me-up or as a simple energy drink. If you use it to actually play video games, it certainly gives an experience that is more than just energy and focus.
Due to Theanine being great at calming you down, it actually makes sense for some games. In high pressure situations, an ingredient meant to calm you down can help with decision making, and this is exactly what this does. What many gamers call "the Nerves", it can simply help calm you down and prevent you from making mistakes when you are nervous. Nothing is more fright inducing than being down 5v1 in a Search and Destroy type of game, and this one will have you feeling focused, yet not nervous or shaky while you do what you can to clutch the round.
The flavors are solid and the drink is not heavily carbonated either. Well worth trying out for a different gaming supplement experience.
Who Makes It?
NOOB is a new brand to the market that is solely focused on gaming. Unlike many other brands, they went head first in the RTD market, and made a killer formula to start. We expect them to be around for quite some time, as their first product is unique, and they should bring more of that soon.
What's In It?
One serving contains:
- 1g N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine – helps with focus under stressful situations
- 500mg Theanine – helps calm you down
- 500mg Taurine – helps with blood flow and hydration
- 300mg Alpha GPC - high quality source fo choline. Helps with focus
- 175mg Caffeine Anhydrous - helps with energy
- 50mg Ashwagandha - helps with stress
Bottom Line:
NOOB Energy is a solid RTD that really makes a splash on the gaming supplement market by offering something more than just an energy booster or nootropic product. It is a calming agent with a decent boost in energy, that will help you in situations where you need it. We wouldn't take it in the middle of the day due to the Theaine, but we would take it during an intense session of Call of Duty where we have to calm ourselves down from the nerves.

#5 X-Arch Energy
- Rating: 8.6 out of 10
- Servings: 1
- Best For: Reaction Time
Use coupon code INFORMANT to save 20%
Pros
Cons
X-Arch Energy certainly deserves a spot on this list, as it simply holds its own against every other gaming product out there. The formula is quite comprehensive, as not only do you get a basic flavored caffeine powder, but rather a formula with ingredients for just about every aspect.
The energy portion gives you 100mg of Caffeine, and another 75mg of DiCaffeine Malate. So some quick hitting caffeine followed by some time-released caffeine. You also get 75mg of Theacrine, which helps with long lasting energy while helping to prevent a crash.
The focus blend is quite impressive as well. It starts off with one of our favorite gaming ingredients, ALCAR at 1 gram, followed by 300mg of Alpha GPC. Alpha GPC is a great source of choline, and is pretty much a staple in gaming products. You also get 500mg of Choline Bitartrate. While not our favorite source of choline, it is dosed better than many other products on the market. Next up comes Tyrosine, which can help with dopamine production and focus. You get 250mg, which is on the lower side, but may still have some benefit. We’d like to see this at 500 mg minimum. Finally you get 1 gram of Taurine, which helps with bloodflow and hydration.
Gamers are known for staring at screens too long, so of course X-Arch decided to add some Zeaxanthin and Lutein. These are both eye health ingredients, and are nice to see. Your eyes are important.
An interesting blend in here is the Stress Management one. It consists of Lion’s Mane, which is a mushroom that helps with brain health and is usually seen in nootropics. You also get 100mg of Theanine, which can help with relaxation.
Finally there is a hydration blend, which needs no explanation. It is a blend of electrolytes and we all know how important hydration is.
So while some ingredients could be taken out or upped, the formula is still solid. The flavors are nice as well, and while not as crazy as a brand like GHOST or AdvancedGG, still are nice to sip on and aren’t overpowering or overly sweet. Roughly 8.5/10 for each flavor we’d say. Well worth grabbing to try at least once.
Who Makes It?
X-Arch Energy is a new brand to the market that is solely focused on gaming. The brand provides a well-rounded energy formula that isn't just straight energy, but also eye health, hydration, and focus. With only one product so far, it will be interesting to see what else they bring to the gaming scene.
What's In It?
One serving (2 scoops) contains:
- 100mg Caffeine – helps with energy
- 75mg Di-Caffeine Malate– delayed release caffeine
- 75mg Theacrine – helps with energy while preventing a crash
- 1g Acetyl-L-Carnitine - helps with reaction time and cognition
- 300mg Alpha GPC - high quality source fo choline. Helps with focus
- 500mg Choline Bitartrate - source of choline that may help with focus
- 250mg Tyrosine – helps with focus under stress
- 1g Taurine - improves muscular strength and endurance
- 2mg Zeaxanthin - supports eye health
- 20mg Lutein - supports eye health
- 300mg Lion's Mane - helps with brain health
- 100mg Theanine – helps with calming and anxiety
Bottom Line:
X-Arch Energy is a well-rounded nootropic that not only helps with energy, but also has a noticeable increase in reaction time, which we attribute to the ALCAR. While not as widely known as some of the other products on this list, it is well worth grabbing for a run, as not only did we find it enjoyable for gaming, but also as a midday energy boost.
