Overview of Glaxon Sedative

Glaxon Sedative is a powerful Sleep Aid supplement meant to aid with getting you to sleep and making sure you stay asleep. With that said, they do that VERY well here. Sedative takes a different approach, and works with a variety of ingredients which work together to create an interesting sleep supplement.

While the taste of Sedative could use some work, it still delivers where it counts. It can be found for a very reasonable price, and is something worth stocking up on, as it simply works so well that you haver to force yourself to use it responsibly.

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed Glaxon Sedative on five categories. We first start by looking at its ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the pre-workout/fat burning supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective Sleep Aid product will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that sleep aid will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Grape Drank

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 6-8oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. We use the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, the Ice Shaker.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of sleep aid products on the market.

Ingredients Profile

(9.1/10)

glaxon sedative

Sedative starts us off with Magnesium Gluconate. Magnesium is actually quite common in sleep aids for several reasons, one being that it plays a part in muscle relaxation. They use Magnesium Gluconate, which has good bioavailability. The next ingredient is Glycine at 1 gram. Glycine is an amino acid that is known as an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Typically, a lot of the studies done on Glycine for sleep quality have been done with 3g-5g. While Glaxon uses 1 gram, they go for a more “synergistic” approach, which we will get into later.

The next ingredient is another inhibitory neurotransmitter, which is a very popular one, known as GABA, at 750mg. While there is some debate as to how well it crosses the blood-brain barrier, many seem to benefit from GABA, and it is widely used. Next up we have Magnolia Extract at 250mg. This ingredient has been shown to help induce sleep, and it is dosed well at 250mg. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.

Next we have an ingredient that is very popular in sleep aids, this being Velvet Bean. Velvet Bean is a natural source of L-Dopa, which is a precursor to dopamine. It has been shown to be potentially beneficial for growth hormone as well as reducing cortisol. You get 250mg in Sedative. The next ingredient Theanine. Theanine is a very common ingredient in everything from pre-workouts to sleep aids. It’s great for reducing anxiety, and has been shown to work synergistically with GABA.

Next we have an ingredient that isn’t really common in many sleep aids, however it may be in the near future This ingredient is Choline. Glaxon uses Cholinace™, which is a trademarked blend of three different sources of Choline. You get 100mg in here, which seems like a small dose, however this is paired with Huperzine A, which is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Choline levels are higher during REM cycles of sleep, and CDP Choline has been shown to be potentially beneficial for memory impairment stemming from REM sleep deprivation.

Another ingredient in here is 5-HTP, which is a precursor to Serotonin, the “happy” hormone. It can help with healthy sleep cycles, and is very common in sleep aids. At 50mg, it is dosed well in Sedative. The next ingredient is an interesting one, called Corydalis yanhusuo, which has been standardized for L-Tetrohydropalmitine. To keep it simple, it is an anxiolytic.

The next two ingredients are AstraGin™ and Melatonin. AstraGin may aid with the absorption of some ingredients, and at 25mg is dosed well. As for the Melatonin, it is the most commonly used ingredient in sleep aids. Usually Melatonin is the first ingredient that is recommended for sleep. At 4mg, it is dosed well in Sedative.

The profile has some ingredients that many of us supplement nerds would immediately point at and yell “underdosed”. However the idea behind this product is that the ingredients work synergistically. While this word is somewhat debated by some, let’s get into the effectiveness to see if this approach works.

Effectiveness

(9.1/10)

We like to rate sleep aids based on three separate categories. Time to get to sleep, sleep quality, and the morning after.

The time it takes to get to sleep after even a half of a scoop of Sedative is probably the most impressive part of the formula. Really, the tub says take this 1.5 hours before you go to bed. They really need to  put 30 minutes on the label. After 30 minutes, it’s almost as if you have been knocked out. Seriously as we laid in bed on our phones, we could have been watching the most exciting YouTube video ever, we would simply pass out without realizing it. Seriously this is something you have to try out for yourself.

As for sleep quality. This was solid as well. While some nights we would wake up after a couple of hours for no apparent reason, most nights were simply filled with vivid dreams that would make you question your sanity. Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience.

As for the morning after, this depends on who you ask really. Our user had issues with getting out of bed in the mornings, which we admit can depend on a lot of factors. Even at a ½ scoops it was enough to make him lay a little bit longer in bed than he should have.

Really, in a perfect setting, it is a sleep aid that you should use a few times a week, and if you have something to do during the week stick with a ½ scoops, and if you really want to sleep in a lay in bed on weekends, sip on Sedative instead of cocktails and you will certainly make up for any wasted sleep during the week. It is certainly impressive without the use of Phenibut.

Taste

Grape Drank: (6.5/10)

Honestly this is the only bad part with Sedative. We had the Grape Drank flavor and it is simply a bit rough. While it is drinkable, it is certainly not something enjoyable to sip on. Almost has a chemical taste, and isn’t really “grape” to us. With that said, we have been informed that the flavor has been updated and is a lot better. If we end up trying them we will update this portion of the review.

Mixability

(8.7/10)

If you mix Sedative in a shaker cup, it mixes quite well and there are little issues. Once in a while you experience very small clumps however. With that said, for the most part if you shake it well enough you more than likely won’t notice anything.

We used the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, The Ice Shaker.

Check out the video above for a full mixability test.

Value

(8.5/10)

You can get Sedative for $45 directly from the website. Depending on how you use this, it can be a good product you use on a consistent basis, or something you save for special occasions. If you use the ½ scoop dose, something like 3-4 times a week is a good way to go and won’t break your bank. If you use a full scoop, dose, a serving will be around $2, which is something you should use for nights you really want to sleep hard. Perhaps 1-2 times a week.
