Literally, one of the cooler companies I can remember from back in my days of working in e-retail (ecommerce). They got HUGE on their pre-workout Mr. Hyde, and now they release new stuff quite often.

Aminolinx is a solid amino product. There has been a lot of debate on EAA vs. BCAA but the fact is Aminlinx includes both, and at good amounts. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the amount of aminos used, as well as the kind of aminos, the ratio and other ingredients involved in the making of this BCAA powder.

We then look at effectiveness. A high BCAA product will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Mango Passion Fruit.

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Ingredients Profile

(7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Honestly, I would have given this a higher score if two things were done: calling out vegan aminos on then label, and breaking up the “matrix” that includes their EAAs and Endurance ingredients.

We start with 5g of 2:1:1 BCAA. This is the optimal dosage that you hear so many people talk about. This has been the standard for years. They do not callout fermented vegan aminos, but I have known PS to be a brand that at times doens’t do that. For BCAA, you want to get about 15-20g per day through whole food and/or supplements.

Then we get 3,135mg of EAAs and “endurance” ingredients. The issue here is we do not know what we are getting of what. Are they in order from most to least? I would expect so, but not entirely sure.

We get Beta-Alanine, which is clinically dosed at 3.2g. This does help with endurance. L-Lysine, L-Phenylalanine and L-Threonine are EAAs to help with recovery. After that, we get L-Citrulline Malate. This helps with endurance and pump. The clinical dosage on this would be 6-8g. Another EAA is L-Histidine and L-Methionine which are labeled next. Cissus Quadrangularis is a unique ingredient shown to help heal broken bones and injured ligaments, something that happens a lot during exercise. HICA is also used, which reduces muscle fatigue. AstraGin helps with absorption and ActiGin helps with endurance.

Overall, the matrix is solid, but we don’t know what the dosage of each ingredient is. At 3,135mg, it’s to be expected we are under dosed in areas, which in an intra workout isn’t a bad thing as you would happen to get some of these from your pre-workout.

Effectiveness

(8/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I judge intra workouts/amino products for effectiveness on two things: does it help with hydration and does it alleviate DOMS? If it does both, then it is an effective amino. It is also an extension of the ingredient profile.

This product did an OK job of taking care of my thirst. I always find myself trying to drink as much as I possibly can when I lift. This was something I wanted to keep drinking.

Regarding DOMS, I am an experienced lifter so I don’t get muscle soreness like I used too. I also supplement with aminos on the reg, so that helps. I did not experience DOMS while on this. Even after a big leg day, sure I was sore, but nothing to the extent where I couldn’t walk days later.

Taste

Maybe I should live in the tropics. This was good. It wasn’t the best mango based powdered supplement I have had, but it wasn’t the worst. I could have done without the passion fruit and just had it be mango, honestly. Most people should like this. I couldn’t imagine why you wouldn’t. Mixability

There were a few particles left floating in the water, and some residue that sunk to the bottom, but overall it mixed well in a full shaker cup. EpiCat contains 300mg of Epicatechin, a myostatin inhibiting supplement. Myostatin essentially tells your body to “not get too big.” This ingredient is found in dark chocolate and has been shown to contribute to muscle mass gains when dosed correctly.

Epicatechin is available, at times, in combo with a non-hormonal anabolic like laxogenin to increase gains. This is a great product to supplement with your anabolic stack.

You also get 700mg of Green Tea Extract. This has been shown to increase metabolism from the energy production in your body.

This typically translates to 150-200mg per day. I actually like dosing higher than that, to ensure I am getting a solid dosage. EpiCat from BSL gives you 300mg per serving. This is a healthy, hefty dosage of Epicatechins that you can be thankful for.

EpiCat can ONLY be affective if you are stacking it with an anabolic agent like laxogenin or another muscle builder, in my opinion. I wouldn’t take this alone. I used it in conjunction with laxogenin. Loved it. The studies done shown that at the optimal dosages you do improve your exercise output and gain more muscle mass. I bust my ass in the gym, I put on size. I cannot say it is all to EpiCat, but it definitely contributed to my lean gains.

Laxogenin is a plant-based steroid, meaning it is naturally occurring and it is legal. This comes from a plant very similar to Asparagus. The benefits of Laxogenin are awesome. They include: increased muscle protein synthesis, increased muscle mass, enhanced recovery, increased strength and power, regulates cortisol levels, limits protein breakdown and more. It is a really solid ingredient.

You will find some of the products on the market coupling Laxogenin with other ingredients. That is awesome too, when done correctly.

For a male, you want 100-200mg per day for effectiveness. That means you would take 4-capsules of this 60-cap bottle to get a 100mg serving. We will talk about value later, but it would be a lot better if these were 50mg capsules like the competition out there.

Women, you can get by with probably 50mg, so this is better dosed for you. However, more men will take muscle building supplements than women. This product is under dosed and should be higher to provide more value for the consumer.

Effectiveness

When dosed correctly, Laxogenin is VERY effective. That means getting at least 100mg if you’re a guy. If you only take the recommended 1-2 capsules per day that the bottle tells you, you won’t get much of a positive effect from this product. If you’re a lady, you may get a bit more.

Because the bottle suggests 1-2 caps per day, I have to rate effectiveness on that. It is not going to be very effective at that dosage. To be effective, you must up your dosage to 4-8 caps per day (if you’re a male). If you’re a female, I would still take more than 1 cap per day.

Laxogenin+ from REPP Sports retails for under $50 and gives you 50mg caps – a serving size is two which means you’re getting the recommended 100mg of Laxogenin…and they give you 60-servings. At that type of dosage of Ano-Genin, you are only getting 15-days of supply (at 100mg) versus REPP’s 60-days.

For women, this is more value to you, because sometimes you may not want to dose too high, but I still think a minimum of 50mg for a women is needed, this requiring 2-caps of Ano-Genin reducing your 60-servings to 30-servings.

Really, you should be on “gear” to know if this is effective, but I wanted to take to help with liver health, prostate health and cardiovascular health. To know if it is effective you really should get blood work done on your liver enzymes and prostate health, not to mention your blood pressure (mine was fine). I would say this is a direct extension of the dosage and ingredient deck. Overall, it should come in around a 7.

Just a note, if you do get on “gear” be smart about it and take care of your health.

Saw Palmetto Extract (160mg): 320mg is optimal per WebMD

NAC (125mg): For general health purposes, 600mg is recommended, but I have seen as low as 400mg.

Arimistane (37.5mg): no optimal dosage, but have seen as high as 100mg

Laxogenin (25mg): no optimal dosage, but men typically need 100mg for effectiveness

As you can see, to get optimal dosages, you are best taking two of these capsules. One, alone, if you’re a male, isn’t going to be beneficial for you. I was just talking in the dosage section that one capsule won’t be effective for you, as a male. This is true. One capsule effectiveness may be a 4 or 5 in terms of score. However, if you take two, which is a suggestion on the label, it becomes more effective. You will see your libido increase and you feel normal, which is key. If you don’t feel normal post-cycle, something is most likely wrong. Low test levels can cause you to be tired all the time and depressed. No one wants that.

The more Arimistane and Laxogenin you can get post-cycle, the better for your gains. This product can be effective, but must be dosed at a minimum of two capsules.

Ingredients Profile

This is a solid source of L-Dopa, which makes you feel good, allowing you to relax. Another ingredient that allows you to relax and focus is Choline Bitartrate. We get that in this as well at 550mg. Then, we get 500mg GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid). GABA helps relieve anxiety and improve your overall mood, while promoting lean muscle growth. Phenibut is used in this as well. At 500mg, Phenibut is designed to help you get a deeper, REM like sleep to help improve muscle recovery. Phenibut is a great ingredient but we need to caution you, too much of Phenibut can make you sleep longer than you want, and it can be addictive.

The last thing we get is a ZMA blend at 552mg. ZMA blends are designed to promote sleep and muscle recovery.

Dosage

Mucana Pruriens (750mg): studies show this as high as 5g to work, it could work in the case of minimal test levels and could increase there…but questionable. We are low.

Choline Bitartrate (550mg): 250-500mg is sufficient, nice work here.

GABA (500mg): for production of growth hormone, dosages of 3,000-5,000 seem to be the range. We are low.

Phenibut (500mg): no optimal dosages, but 500mg is sufficient starting point. I have seen this between 250mg and 1.6g.

ZMA Blend (552mg): this depends but typically you like to see Zinc around 30mg, Magnesium Aspartate at 450mg and B6 around 11mg. What’s confusing with my label is that it has these ingredients listed above the actives as well.

Overall, dosage is OK on a couple ingredients, but lack in other areas. I will admit that the Phenibut does help with sleep. I had good night’s sleep using only the 500mg of Phenibut. It is hard to say on the test levels and muscle recovery, however. Looking at the label, I find it hard to believe that the GABA is doing anything at all. ZMA blend may be helping but this isn’t something you can “feel.”

Overall, I look at this more as a sleep aid, and it does OK with that.

Ingredients Profile

We start with 4g of 2:1:1 BCAAs. This is the ideal ratio studies to help with muscle fatigue and to fight Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. I would personally like to see this around 5g per serving, minimum. Blackstone Labs also tosses in other EAAs including 1g of Lysine, 950mg of Threonine, 300mg of Methionine and 150mg of Phenylalanine. They also toss in non-essential amino acid in the form of L-Alanine at 500mg. Collectively these amino acids are the building blocks of muscle. Together they prevent muscle fatigue and improve muscle recovery. The one ask would be to use Fermented Vegas Aminos…since then I know where they come from.

You also get 1g of Taurine. This is an ingredient that promotes strength output.

Not to be outdone, Blackstone Labs tosses in a focus blend of 640mg of Hica, Theobromine and CDP Choline. Hica actually helps with muscle fatigue, Theobromine dilates blood vessels and choline helps with cognitive functions.

Overall, a good profile on this “BCAA” product. Effectiveness

I wouldn’t venture as far to say that it improved my focus, but I can say that the aminos helped with muscular fatigue and soreness. Ideally a guy my size would want 15-20g of BCAAs per day. Most I can get from food, but the 4g I get here help, and they are absorbed quickly into my system.

Unlike a pre-workout, you don’t necessarily feel the effect of BCAAs right away, but you do as the day progresses, and eventually the next day. Again, I did feel like it helped with fatigue and soreness. The 1g of Taurine also helped push a little more than you would typically do, as it is designed.

It was drinkable, for sure, but not the best I have ever had. You could say that it does taste like Passion Fruit (although I think I only have had this in Mexico) but it wasn’t as refreshing as I would have liked.

With Amino products I do like a good tasting product as you drink it during your lift. This left me wanting more, in terms of taste. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the pump supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective pre-workout will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Cherry Limeade.

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Ingredients Profile

(9/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]It is no surprise that Pitbull Labs does some unique things with their products that other companies don’t do. The Pump is no different.

The Pump first starts with 4g of pure L-Citrulline. A clinical dosage of Citrulline is 3-5g when it is pure. We are right in the middle, and this is a pump product. I would bet your pre-workout, if you take one, also has a form of Citrulline. Then we get the first branded, expensive ingredient in Nitrosigine at 1.5g. Nitrosigine is a newer ingredient from Nutrition 21 that really works well. The recommended dosage is 1.5g, so we are on-point here. The main benefit of Nitrosigine is the increased NO production and blood flow in your body. Another branded ingredient used is Capros Indian Gooseberry Extract. Yes, this is one of those unique ingredients you don’t see often. This ingredient significantly increases NO production as well at doses as low as 250mg (that’s what this is dosed at). Lastly, we get 200mg of L-Norvaline. L-Norvaline works by inhibiting arginase, allowing you to achieve longer, stronger pumps that give more power and recovery ability. The recommended dosage is 100mg+. Well done, Pitbull Labs.

Overall, this is a really good profile with some cool ingredients. I am a fan of Nitrosigine and L-Norvaline. Citrulline is always nice too. If this had HydroMax…wow…this would be unreal (it really is amazing without it!) Effectiveness

Listen, it is. It works well. I would, at times, take a scoop in a half just to see if I could break through my cutoff t…kidding, but not really.

You will get a pump off of this. Enough said. I like the combination of ingredients and collectively they increase NO while inhibiting the NO killer which is going to lead to great pumps and ultimately better muscle recovery and building.

Taste

I would be the first to admit I am not the biggest fan in the world of Cherry anything, but when mixed with Lime it isn’t bad. I know PBL is proud of their flavors and this is good. It tastes exactly as you’d think it would taste. You get the cherry kick followed by the lime, citrus flavor. Mixability

Check out the full video to see a mixibility test. I tend to mix mine in with my pre-workout and get a combination of flavors, but when mixed alone, as seen in the video, it does a great job. We used about 6-8oz of water with a blender bottle and spiral mixer. Pitbull Labs The Pump falls right in the middle. We get 25-servings for $40. The big difference between this pump and others out there is that this is dosed PERFECTLY with the ingredients used, they are not cheap ingredients and it works well. I was surprised that we even got 25-servings with this.
