In fact, they use a new form of amino acid AminoZorb as well in this. However, their attempt to capture the taste and carbonation of the real-world Mountain Dew falls short. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the amount of aminos used, as well as the kind of aminos, the ratio and other ingredients involved in the making of this BCAA powder.

We then look at effectiveness. A high BCAA product will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Muscle Dew (Lemon Lime Soda).

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Ingredients Profile

With each serving you get 5g of 2:1:1 AminoZorb BCAAs. We should all be familiar with Branched Chain Amino Acids. They’ve been studied and proven to help with muscle recovery.

The 2:1:1 ratio is the optimal ratio you want to promote muscle recovery and regrowth. We’d like to see the word “Fermented” next to BCAAs, especially if AminoZorb is to be the second-coming of BCAAs, but unfortunately we do not see that. Fermented just means that the BCAA is being sourced from vegetables and not other options like bird feathers and human hair (yes, that’s a thing).

AminoZorb is a new variation of a BCAA that per All American Pharmaceuticals is “completely stable in solution and soluble in water.” This would be a big benefit as most aminos do not fully dissolve in water.

One thing to point out on this profile is although you only see 5g of 2:1:1 BCAA, the serving size is actually 11g. Why? They use Citric Acid and Sodium Bicarbonate for flavoring and ultimately the carbonation. Sodium Bicarbonate is used in a lot of carbonated drinks, but it is also the active ingredient found in baking soda. There are health benefits to it in moderation, but you don’t want too much of it daily. NO Xplode did this as well with their pre-workout. Effectiveness

(6/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]The 2:1:1 BCAA ratio has been proven to be effective in repairing and regrowing muscle. That’s not a fact we cannot dispute, nor will we try. If it was just that, this would rate much higher on effectiveness.

However, I have to look at the 6g of “other” ingredients used to essentially provide flavor and carbonation. For me, this did not carbonate well. Per the marketing I saw for this product and the hype, it fell flat for me. I tried one scoop in 8-12oz of water. I even tried two scoops in 8-12oz of water. I was disappointed by it.

Now, when the solution sat for a bit, it gained carbonation over time. But when you drink a BCAA product you don’t typically mix, set and then drink later, you want to drink it right away. Taste

In our opinion, this doesn’t taste like Mountain Dew, but maybe the off-brand lemon lime soda? It doesn’t taste bad, it just doesn’t taste like Mountain Dew. Now the label does say lemon lime on it…so they are not lying there in terms of taste. However, when the perception is that it tastes like Dew, you expect that. A lot of the “soda” flavors out there fall short of expectations. Mixability

That means it should fully dissolve and have great mixability. For me, I mixed this in a shaker cup. It did not mix great. There was always particles floating at the top. With two scoops, this was even worse.

Now, this might not have been the 5g of BCAAs, so maybe AminoZorb is fully soluble in water. Maybe this was the 6g of “other” stuff. We understand that there is a price premium on Muscle Dew because it’s supposed to be like Mountain Dew, and had it been like it then we would justify the cost. See our review on BCAA Stim Cherry Cola…that is higher cost, same amount of servings but the taste is on-point. Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the Chocolate and Vanilla flavors.

Ingredients Profile

Each scoop contains 20g of whey protein isolate. A refresher course here, whey protein isolate has to be 90% protein quality. It’s also a great choice for those who are lactose intolerant or on prep.

Each scoop is 23g-24.6g. Remember, 20g of that is protein. That is over 80% protein per serving which is excellent. What does that even mean? It means that there isn’t a bunch of other crap put into these.

The macros are awesome. Each pod contains 1g of fat and 2g of carbs. Yes, there are WPI powders out there that have 0g of fat and <1g of carbs, but this is still top-notch.

Other ingredients in these pods are minimal with the use of sucralose…typical.

The one area I want to shed some light on is the use of Polyvinyl Alcohol. What is that? This is the substance that holds the contents in the pod. Polyvinyl Alcohol is a water-soluble solution. It is used in a variety of things including children’s play putty and slime, eye drops, 3D printing and, of course, in food grade film.

At the end of the day, no matter what, you are putting “plastic” into your body with this. Yes, it makes the product very convenient, but too much of this stuff cannot be good for you. Thankfully you only take one or two pods at a time. Effectiveness

That is, essentially, the highest quality protein powder being used on the market today. Because of that, it is an effective protein powder/product.

The one thing that “limits” this WPI is the size. When you buy a powder, you are typically getting 24-25g per serving. With the pods, you get 20g per serving. That is 20% less protein than the powder would give you. Does that mean it is less effective than the powder? No, not necessarily as it depends on your body weight. But it could limit your protein intake if you’re counting calories and macros.

Lastly, the Polyvinyl alcohol. VADE Nutrition Dissolvable Protein Scoops tasted fine. They were not out-of-this-world good, but honestly, they tasted better than I thought they would.

Given that these pods contain over 80% protein per serving, it made me think that there was no way they could mask the flavor to be enjoyable, but they did a fine job. I typically prefer chocolate over vanilla, but in this case, I enjoyed VADE’s vanilla flavor over their chocolate flavor.

I would use one or two pods and the food grade film aka Polyvinyl Alcohol, would dissolve and the protein would mix in the water.

Compared to plain WPI powders, this doesn’t mix as well. Why? I think it has to do with the Polyvinyl Alcohol film. There were small little micro-chunks left in the water after vigorously shaking. After inspecting it, it looked it it was pieces of the film that “shrunk” down and compressed together instead of fully dissolving. I believe that it may have “stuck” to some protein powder as well.

No, the mixability doesn’t suck. For less than $30, you can get 30-servings of whey protein isolate. That’s $1 per serving for a whey protein isolate. Yes, it’s 20g per serving versus 24-25g, but you also have the convenience factors.

The convenience factor is where I think they could justify a premium price. I packed these with me on a trip to California, where in the past I would put my protein powders in ziplock bags, and this was much better. I love the convenience of this product and how easy it is to travel with.

However, VADE Nutrition is not charging a premium price, which means this is a great valuable product for you. Get a high quality whey protein isolate, in an affordable, convenient package. The only drawback is that food grade film. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at quality of protein used, amount and other ingredients involved in the making of this protein powder.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the Mint Cookies and Cream and Chocolate.

Mixability refers to how well the protein powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Ingredients Profile

(8.5/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]MTS Nutrition Machine Whey is comprised of a whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate blend. Just a refresher, whey protein concentrate can be anywhere between 34% and 80% protein. Knowing Marc, he is using the higher end protein. I am sure he would be willing to confirm. The reasoning behind a mix between WPC and WPI is you get the quick absorbing WPI to help immediate post workout, and the WPC take a little more time to be absorbed, but your body can only absorb a certain amount of protein at a time.

Machine Whey gives you 25g of protein per serving. Depending on your flavor, the serving size is anywhere from 36g to 40g+. Doing the math, each serving contains less than 70% protein. I would like to see this higher, but I understand with flavors sometimes you have “other” ingredients to get the flavor profile just right.

Carbs and fats also vary on flavor. The Mint Cookies and Cream had 6g of carbs, while the Chocolate had 4g. Each had 1g of Dietary Fiber which lowers the net carbs. In my opinion this isn’t too terrible. Fats where 3.5g and 3g respectfully. Again, not bad at all. Overall, the macros are friendly for essentially any “diet” you are on.

The one area that caused concern for me was on the Mint Cookies and Cream. There is one ingredient listed on the label that makes me cringe: High Fructose Corn Syrup [note: Marc Lobliner confirmed that this is from the cookie pieces in this. Per FDA rules, this no loner has to be put on labels]. I have never seen a protein powder with HFCS before. I am also sad about this because this happened to be the best flavor of protein powder I have ever tried. I hate that HFCS is being used.

With that said, not every flavor of Machine Whey uses HFCS. In fact, the Chocolate flavor we had did not have HFCS and had limited “other” ingredients. Overall, this is a solid protein powder with a good macro profile and protein source. Effectiveness

(8.5/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Without knowing the exact quality of whey protein concentrate being used, it is hard to determine the effectiveness 100%. With protein powders, effectiveness is directly tied to the ingredient profile. If you read our profile on Machine Whey, you know we are a fan. Therefore, overall, the effectiveness of this protein should be very good.

One thing I wanted to note is that you do not get that “bloating” feeling with Machine Whey like you might get with some protein powders. I would use two scoops of this (50g) of protein and a 80g serving size. That is a total of 306 calories, no bloating feeling at all. There is not a lot of sugars so you don’t get that sugar crash either.

Taste

Mint Cookies & Cream: (10/10) Chocolate: (7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I mentioned in my ingredient profile review of Machine Whey that Mint Cookies and Cream is by far, not even close, the best tasting whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate blended protein I have ever tried. Yes, there is HFCS in this, and I would love to see that removed, but it doesn’t change the fact that this stuff is delicious. I know MTS prides themselves on their flavors.

MTS Nutrition Machine Whey Chocolate flavor was also good. I will say it’s not the best tasting chocolate protein powder I have had, but it damn sure was not the worst. Essentially, most chocolate protein powders taste similar. MTS did nothing to separate themselves from the others, but didn’t do anything to fall below.

The one takeaway I have here is I want to try out some of their other flavors. I see them tout about Ice Cream Sandwich and other flavors that are supposed to be out of this world. Mixibility

With Machine Whey being a blend of the two, you’d expect this to mix well. It does. This is one of the better mixing whey protein powders I have ever tested. The cookie crumbles in Mint Cookies and Cream do not dissolve, but that doesn’t affect mixability because that’s how it is supposed to be.

I have reviewed other high quality WPC powders and their mixability wasn’t nearly as good as MTS Nutrition’s Machine Whey. All it took was a couple shakes of a shaker cup and it mixed right in. For a 5lb container of a protein blend, like Machine Whey, you will find this around $50-$60. Machine Whey retails for under $55 and you get 60-servings. That is less than $1 per serving. Compared to the “big” brand in this category, this is a little higher. However, I can assure you that this protein powder is superior to that big brand.

Who am I talking about? Gold Standard Whey from Optimum typically retails for around $58 for 73-servings. When you compare Machine Whey directly to that, and all you’re focused on is price, then sure, it seems like the better value is ON. However, as I mentioned, Machine Whey is superior in terms of protein quality and taste…by far.

You get what you pay for. Wisely you would spend your hard-earned money on MTS Machine Whey protein before ON or many other brands on the market. Ingredients Profile

Recomp RX first starts with 500mg of Rosmarinus Officinalis Extract and Loquat Extract. Both of these come from real-life plants. Studies show Rosmarinus Officinalis has anti-inflammatory affects, but also aid in weight and fat loss. Loquat Extract contains corosolic acid which helps to promote the use of glucose as fuel, and promotes weight loss. The combination of these two ingredients would promote fat/weight loss.

The final ingredient on the label is 60mg of Banaba Leaf Extract. Per Examine.com, Banaba Leaf Extract has an anti-diabetic effect on the human body as it helps control the bodies glucose. Glucose is needed by the muscles to burn as an energy source and build muscle.

By properly using ingredients that control glucose levels, you can prevent fat gains from insulin surges while proving the muscle adequate glucose levels they need to maintain their composition.

First it is tough because Rosmarinus Officinalis and Loquat Extract are burried in a blend of 500mg. There are not optimal studies on these ingredients as it pertains to weight loss and fat loss.

The next ingredient, Banaba Leaf Extract, is recommend to be supplemented at 1,500-3,000mg daily from Examine.com.

But that does not say it is the optimal level, nor is there enough studies to show it is the optimal level for corosolic acid production. Effectiveness

This is interesting for me. I did a 7-week cut to get ready for a photo shoot. I started at 207 lbs. I incorporated cardio for the first time in forever, cut out carbs (maybe 50g a day) and started taking Recomp RX. By the time my shoot came around I got to 187 lbs. I definitely lost weight. My body fat decreased to 9% which was a reduction of 9%. I didn’t feel like I lost muscle mass. In fact, I attempted to pull my PR on deadlift of 505 lbs (I pulled this when I was 210 lbs) and I damn near got it. I got is over 1/2 way but couldn’t lock out. Moral of the story is I did not lose a lot of strength.

Can I say this all came from Recomp RX? No, not at all. But I can say that I think it had some help in the anti-catabolic effects of my body recomp, especially since I basically cut out carbs. It helped me ensure I was using them effectively.

Due to the results I obtained while on this, with the use of effective lifting, cardio and diet, I would recommend this product and say for $30 it is of value. Ingredients Profile

The next ingredient is Gymnema Extract at 1g, which per WebMD, has been shown to reduce the absorption of sugar from the intestines as well as increase the amount of insulin when needed.

Bitter Melon is used in GlycoLog at 500mg. Bitter Melon has been called the fruit of diabetics and cancer patients as it has been shown to reduce blood sugar levels.

Super Berbine is used at 300mg. This ingredient, like the previous ones, has anti-diabetic effects on the human body.

Cinnamon Bark Extract is used at 250mg. This has been shown to work like insulin to lower blood sugar levels.

Lastly, GlycoLog includes Sodium-R-Lipoate, which, again, mimics the effects of insulin on glucose absorption in insulin-resistant cells and may help restore glucose availability in tissues.

Overall, all of the ingredients work together to do the same thing: control your insulin levels and ensure your tissues are receiving the adequate nutrients they need. Dosage

Chromium: 300mcg
Adequate amounts in women are 23-29mcg and in men 39-54mcg per the National Institutes of Health. This is dosed higher than adequate…making it that much more hardcore.

Gymnema Extract: 1g
Studies have shown this to be effective at 200-400mg. At 1g, we have more than enough.

Bitter Melon: 500mg
Recommended dosage for anti-diabetic effects is 900mg. We are a bit less than that here, but remember, we have more than enough in the previous two.

Super Berberine: 300mg
Recommended dosage for this is 900mg. Again, we come in less than optimal on this ingredient.

Cinnamon Bark Extract: 250mg
This is not the same as ground cinnamon in your cupboard, to which the recommended dosage for that is 1-6g per day.

Sodium R-Lipoate: 150mg
Not a lot of studies are done on Sodium R-Lipoate, but OTC supplements have it dosed around 300mg, which means this is probably less than optimal.

Overall, this is dosed decently. Effectiveness

This is very hard to determine if this is effective without testing your own blood sugar level. Unfortunately I do not have a blood testing kit. However, there are other ways you can tell.

After a high-carb meal, you typically find yourself “crashing” after the carbs are converted to glucose in your blood stream. You get that sugar high form the blood sugar spike and then wish to take a nap. You might also feel very “bloated” from a lot of carbs.

I can say this, I downed a pizza and Chipotle bowls while using GlycoLog. I did not have the crash that I typically would have, but more importantly, I never felt bloated. GlycoLog was created for the epic of all cheat meals (donuts, cakes, etc) but I never went that far as I still stick to strict dietary guidelines.

Overall, I would say this is an effective insulin controller and nutrient driver. I would love to be able to test my blood sugar 30-minutes post meal, but my gut tells me that this would work just fine controlling the spike.

Value

The insulin controlling supplement category, and nutrient driver category, will continue to grow. Glyc0Log got in early and they did a great job with their product. You get 60-servings of this product for $50. The issue some people might have is they don’t understand blood glucose levels and insulin production. Therefore they would never buy a supplement like this. Insulin regulation is extremely important to your overall muscle mass and goals.

If you plan to eat dirty at times during your diet, a supplement like GlycoLog should be a must! At $50 for 60-servings it isn’t too bad. There might be others coming on the market, but GlycoLog, per my experience, works and works well. Maybe we find a pair of over the ear headphones we like, but the quality sucks. Or maybe they can’t handle impact or sweat like you’d wish.

Others might fit well, but sound awful. Some have wires (what are those!?) that get in the way. Then you have the ones that are perfect…for four months and then they break. We’ve all experienced this before.

This put us on the road to find the perfect set of headphone or earbuds for the gym. That brought us to the company Jabra.

Jabra makes headsets for all sorts of areas. Most notably, they make the phones and headsets for a lot of the businesses in the world. In fact, my office uses Jabra headsets for our phone systems. I knew that Jabra was solid in terms of tech when it came to headsets, so I was not shocked to find out that they made these ear buds that were supposedly great.

We got our hands on a pair of Jabra Elite Sport true wireless earbuds. I wanted to see how these held up for us in the weight lifting community (their ads show a lot of runners, but never the weight trainers). These were the first of its kind that I have ever tried, and I am glad I got to try them. These quickly became the best headphones/earbuds I have ever owned in my life. Design

(9/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Jabra Elite Sport earbuds are designed to be small and discrete while still providing ample sound quality. Along with the design of the earbuds, we have the design of the recharging station/carrying case.

First, let’s take a look at the earbuds…

Yes, they are small. This is awesome. I have heard some concern that because they are small that two things may occur:

We will lose them
They will have awful sound quality

I can assure you that both are myths and should not be a concern prior to purchase.

Both ear buds have controls on them. The left earbud has your volume controls. The right earbud has the power option as well as the hear-through option (on click on this turns the sound off so you can hear people talk to you, but does not power down the earbuds). You can also control the volume from the Jabra app you download to go with your earbuds.

The earbuds also have sensors on the inside of them to monitor your heart rate. This speaks directly with the Jabra app that you download to use with your earbuds. Pretty cool stuff!

The earbuds come with several things that pertain to design. First, they come with three variations of rubberized rings that go around the earbuds. There are three of them to help with the fit of your unique ear. Everyone’s ear is different, so there is no one size fits all. This is optimal to ensure a nice tight fit is there to help with sound quality. I elected to go with the medium winged ones to ensure the earbuds stayed in my ears.

The earbuds also come with six different earbud tips. Three of them are silicone, and the other three are foam. These different buds help you select the right one for you based on ear canal size and feel. I elected to go with the medium foam ones to offer a comfortable fit. I could shake my head vigorously and the earbuds would not fall out once I selected the correct fit and ear bud tips.

There are absolutely ZERO wires which is amazing. You don’t know what you got until it’s gone they say…well they can stay gone because I never want wires again.

The carrying case/charging station is designed nicely as well. It is not cheap. It is a small box with cutouts inside so you know exactly what earbud goes where. Once you shut the case, the case begins to charge the earbuds. Easy as 1-2-3.

Lastly, the mobile app. It is user friendly and easy to use. The design is simple allowing even the most amateur of app users to be successful with the app.

Overall, I love how these are designed. Functionality

(8/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]The functionality of the earbuds are fantastic. I want to talk about battery life, sound quality, bluetooth connectivity, range and then the functionality of the app.

First, the batter life is awesome. These are the best I have ever had. The earbuds will last up to 4.5 hours of continuous play. WHAT?! Yes, that’s right. What’s even more cool is that the carrying case/rechargeable station, will charge your earbuds a full 2x over. Meaning, you can use your earbuds for 13-15 hours before you have to plug in your rechargeable case for a full recharge. I go all week and then some before I have to hook this baby back up.

Sound quality is good with Jabra Elite Sport. I have had over-the-ear headphones before and they does sound better than the Jabra Elite Sport. It is important that you find a fit that is tight and comfortable for you. This will help with sound quality. Anytime you allow outside noise in (with over-the-ear these cancel that out) you will experience a lower sound quality. With that said, the quality is not bad at all. The bass is good and treble is sufficient. They do produce a loud volume, but at times you can hear the outside world…you still have to mute them to have a conversation however. Overall, sound quality is good, could be better with a custom fit, and if you press the buds tighter into your ears you can hear the difference.

Bluetooth connectivity is great. At first, when you set it up, it can be confusing and difficult. This is something you may need help with. Jabra offers great how-to videos on their site. Even a millennial like me had to use them so don’t feel bad. The only issue I had with connectivity was with one stationary bike machine. The hear rate monitor interfered with the connection. I reached out to Jabra and they said that they are aware of the issue.

The range on these are impressive. I can set my phone down on one side of the gym and walk all the way to the other without any issues. Regarding distance, I would say you are good to go up to 100 feet. This is when the earbuds start cutting out. How do I know this? I set my phone down and walked off the distance. It was about 33 yards until they started cutting out.

The mobile app is very cool. The earbuds have sensors on the inside that monitor your heart rate. The app will show you what your heart rate is. It also allows you to take various fitness tests like the VO2 Max. You can also get a personal trainer to talk to you right through your earbuds with the Jabra training programs that are installed in the app software. Durability

The earbuds themselves are very durable. Now I don’t go around jumping or stepping on them, but I have dropped them several times when I take them out of my ears. Not one time did I worry about them breaking. They are lightweight and would bounce, but I don’t think they would break.

The charging case is VERY durable. There is a nice tight fit when you close the case, it is heavy duty and is built to withstand some force. The plugin port where you charge it is built nicely too to prevent the outlet from getting “stripped” out.

Fashionability

Some people by Beats because they think they are fashionable. Sure, they look cool. But you know what’s even more cool? When you can barely see that someone is wearing earbuds!

Yes, the Jabra Elite Sport earbuds do stick out of your ears a little bit, but overall they are small and discrete. This makes them fashionable. You can wear these in the gym and not many people know you’re wearing them. Some people might have a small issue with how they stick out…but think about this…headphones are clear as day, so what’s the issue here?

Value

The everyday price of these earbuds are $250 for the set. However, if you compare it to other brands, of which I have owned, that cost $100 each, and you replace them every couple years, you already have your investment paid for. Plus, those “other” brands I bought had wires. They were not true wireless.

For $250 you are getting a pair of quality, functional and durable ear buds that fit nicely in your ears, provide solid sound quality and gym motivation we all need. They do not fall out. They do not hurt. You don’t lose them. They would take a lot to break them. The small issues with these pointed out above are not enough to deter anyone from buying these.

I have recommended these to a lot of people already. If you can swing $250 then get these earbuds, you won’t regret it. They also run periodic sales so check for those as well.

The first ingredient used is whole grain oat flower. This is far superior to any white flour or wheat flour you’d find in your store-bought pancake mix. Then you get Buttermilk Powder (to give the pancakes that fluffyness you want). Next, you get your Whey Protein Isolate powder. The last main ingredient is MCT Powder (healthy fats) which you Keto fans are going to love.

Overall, the macros are friendly and the ingredients are high-quality. I would do a double serving to get four round pancakes. Unfortunately, there are only 6 servings per bag. That means for me, I had three meals only in one bag.

However, these retail for just over $10 a bag. If you do the math based on what I just said, that’s less than $4/meal (breakfast). Yes, compared to the store-bought mix, this is going to be more…but we have better quality ingredients that are much more healthy for you.

Overall, there are competitors which offer more servings and a better price point ut the ingredients are not as solid as this. The nice thing about Charged Amino versus Amino Energy is the first ingredient listed in their amino blend is a 2:1:1 BCAA. The BCAAs are halfway down the label on ON Amino Energy. You are getting a 5g amino blend with this product, which is the same as ON Amino Energy, but again, you’re getting more beneficial 2:1:1 BCAAs.

Another area that Charged Amino does a nice job on is the hydration complex. Again, in a blend, you get 550mg of Trisodium Citrate and Potassium Chloride. Not a lot of evidence is out there that supports their use for hydration, but there’s a lot of info on how it is used in foods.

The energy blend, also a prop blend, is similar to ON Amino Energy in that it contains 160mg from Coffee Bean, Green Tea Leaf Extract and Green Coffee Bean Extract. These are all natural sources of caffeine.

I am not a huge coffee drinker but like caffeine to help me get through my day and focus on tasks. This is a good product for that. In addition, it is a good product to help promote muscle recovery. Essential Amino Acids and Branched Chain Amino Acids both help with muscle soreness and recovery.

I would drink approximately 4-scoops a day to achieve the energy I would need. It is hard to tell if you’re getting enough BCAA (I need about 20g per day) since this is a prop blend.

Overall, I am judging this product based on the energy it gave me. Unfortunately there are only three flavors of Charged Amino versus 20+ of Amino Energy.

Blue Raspberry Lemonade, to me, was the worst of the three. There was a weird after taste I did not enjoy. I do enjoy BCAA Energy from EVL blue raspberry much better. I am not a big fan of grape, but Candy Grape was surprisingly decent. Peach Mango, although a bit tame on flavor, was refreshing and good too.

Overall, I think they should add some more flavors but taste is relative to the user. It’s not the best tasting amino energy type supplement I have had. Trestolone (MENT): What Is It?

History of Trestolone

Trestolone, developed in the 1960s, was not developed initially to treat muscle wasting. The research-based pharmaceutical company known as Schering had interest into Trestolone for the purpose of male birth control and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). During their investigation of METN, it was discovered that it was ideally suited for the muscle building process.

Trestolone (MENT) Makeup

Trestolone belongs to the 19-nor family of anabolic steroids. The formal name for MENT is 7-alpha-methly-nortestosterone. Typically the 19-nor family of steroids causes sexual dysfunction in males. This is where MENT differs. MENT does not contain the same negative side effects you get from Nandrolone or Trenbolone in terms of erectile disfunction.

MENT is the only steroid today that is capable of maintaining normal male sexual behavior. This is the main reason MENT was looked at for male birth control. It limits the production of sperm by suppressing spermatogenesis, but does not limit the sexual functionality of a man.

MENT has a very strong binding affinity to the AR receptor. Research shows that it is far greater than that of Testosterone. With that, it does have a strong ability to aromatize which can be detrimental to your muscle gains (estrogen can be nasty when trying to gain size).

A unique factor about MENT, according to TigerFitness.com, is that it does not bind to the sex hormone binding globulin (which means if it did bind to SHBG it could not bind to the AR receptor). MENT is free to bind to the androgen receptor and elicit the benefits you’d want from an anabolic steroid.

Another unique factor about MENT is it is incapable of binding to 5-alpha-reductase and cannot convert into DHT. The reason for this is the makeup of Trestolone on the carbon 7 of the molecule.

A concern for many steroid users is the effect on the male prostate. MENT is favorable in this area as research has shown that it has a lesser effect on the prostate as compared to Testosterone. This reduces the potential risk of prostate issues later in life.

Trestolone (MENT) and Muscle Gains

According to a research study conducted in 1992, “the ability of 7 alpha-methyl-19-nortestosterone acetate (MENT) to increase the weights of the ventral prostate and seminal vesicles of castrated rats was 4x higher than that of testosterone, while its effect on the weights of bulbocavernosus plus levator ani muscles, was 10x that of testosterone.” (Endocrinology. 1992 Jun; 130(6):3677-83.) In other words, it is more effective than Testosterone.

We wouldn’t agree that MENT is 10x stronger than Testosterone. We would not expect those results in humans. We actually know two subjects who tested MENT, and here are their results:

Subject A
Cycle: Trestolone Acetate MENT 10mL 50mg/mL
Dosage: 50mg EOD (every other day)
Weight Gain: 6lbs
Strength Gains: Noticeable

Subject B
Cycle: Trestolone Acetate MENT 10mL 50mg/mL x2
Dosage: 50mg EOD (every other day)
Weight Gain: 9lbs
Strength Gains: Noticeable

Both Subject A and Subject B noticed lean weight gains. Their appetite increased. Their libido increased. Their ability to perform the sexual functionality of a man did not diminish. Due to the ability of Trestolone to aromatize, both subjects used an aromatase inhibitor every other day.

Trestolone (MENT) Dosage

There has not been a lot of studies done on Trestolone. Trestolone Acetate is an injectable anabolic steroid. Below you will find the dosage of Subject A and Subject B:

It is no longer a secret that Trestolone works, and it works well. More and more people within the bodybuilding community are electing to use Trestolone over the likes of Testosterone due to it doesn’t not bind to the SHBG, it is free to bind to the AR receptor and provide great gains (more-so than Testosterone). They also use it because it does not limit sexual functionality and is safer for the prostate.

Another reason more and more people within the bodybuilding community are using Trestolone (MENT) is because of the availability of the substance through research companies. The vast majority of these research companies do not require you to prove that you are a researcher. Thus, almost anyone can get it.

Finally, we do not recommend the use of illegal anabolic steroids. Steroids do have a place in this world to help prevent muscle wasting, fight disease, HRT, etc, but we cannot stand here and tell you everyone should race out to buy steroids and get as huge as possible.
