Ingredients Profile

You get 25g (out of 30g) of protein. That is 83.3% protein per servings. Many of the competitors are in the 70%s. For an isolate you would expect this to be higher.
The 25g of protein starts with cross-flow cold infused micro-filtered whey protein isolate. This basically means, per BodyBuilding.com, is a processing method uses a low temperature micro filtration techniques that allows for the production of very high protein contents (>90%), the retention of important subfractions, extremely low fat and lactose contents, with virtually no undenatured proteins. Then we get Whey Protein Hydrolysate. Whey Protein Hydrolysate is actually an isolate that has been hydrolyzed which means that the protein now will absorb quicker into your blood stream. The cost to do a Hydrolysate sometimes might not be worth it, however. Lastly, the product includes Soy Lecithin. This helps break down the proteins for use in the body.
Isovide contains minima fat at .5g. It also contains less than 1g of carbohydrates. Sodium content is pretty high at 600mg, however.
Overall, we love the quality protein used. If you have issues with lactose or are prepping for a show, or just like faster absorbing protein then this ingredient profile is solid for you. Isovide has a solid profile with high quality protein which will be absorbed quickly by your body and broken down by the addition of Soy Lecithin for proper use in the body. Salted Caramel: [/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]When we got this unit sent to us we were told that salted caramel was the favorite flavor of the owner, Connor Cummings. For us, we did not like it as much as he did. It didn’t taste a lot like caramel to me, or salted for that matter. It wasn’t a terrible taste, but we’ve had much better tasting whey protein isolates from competitors. A whey protein isolate always mixes better than a whey protein concentrate. The use of cross-flow cold infused micro-filtered whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate should essentially guarantee a great mixability. In this case it did. That cost then must be passed onto the consumer. With Divided Labs Isovide, the cost might be too high to consider. A 2lb container of Isovide will retail for $45. That means for 4lbs it would be $90.One thing to keep in mind that hydrolysates are minimally better than just plain isolates, and the price premium may not be worth the up cost. Also, if you don’t have issues with lactose then a whey protein concentrate would be just fine.
Based on some of competitors in this space, and their reviews as it related to price, Isovide is priced too high for us. You can get 100% whey protein isolate in 5lb containers for $80 on the market.
