ISO-Hungry from Feed Me More Nutrition is a 100% whey protein isolate derived from grass fed cows. Not many companies claim that. If they claim something close it’s typically pasture fed cows. ISO-Hungry also does not use any sucralose and instead uses Stevia, an all-natural sweetener. On top of being a high quality whey protein isolate, ISO-Hungry tastes great and mixes well. This is a superior protein powder in terms of the sourcing. We pay a premium for grass fed meat because it is higher quality, the same can be said for protein. With only 1g of fat and 4g of carbs (only 3g of NET carbs since there is 1g of Dietary Fiber) ISO-Hungry has a great profile. You get 25g of grass fed protein per serving (serving size is 32.1g) which means that 78% of your serving is protein. The rest comes from the carbs and the fat. There are minimal sugars as well at only 2g. If you are taking a isolate protein to avoid carbs there are others out there with less but that difference wouldn’t be that big to change the overall effectiveness of the protein. You must know that whey protein isolates must contain at least 90% protein to be labeled a WPI. I love Cookies & Cream but I cannot find a great tasting Cookies & Cream protein powder that reminds me of ice cream. ISO-Hungry Cookies & Cream is the best tasting Cookies & Cream protein powder I have ever had. It is very good. I was pleasantly surprised. With Cookies & Cream you do get the cookie crumbles but you want that…it makes you feel like you’re drinking a Cookies & Cream shake! A 2lb tub of ISO-Hungry retails for $45-$50. If you can do math you know a 4lb container would run you just shy of $100. That’s a lot of money. One of the best whey protein isolates we’ve reviewed on Fitness Informant retails for $80 for a 4lb container. So if you compare it to that then you are not getting a lot of value with ISO-Hungry. However, I realize there is a premium to grass fed anything. Grass fed meat costs more than normal. Organic costs more than normal. Here’s where the subjective comes into play, how much more is it worth to you that it is a grass fed protein? That’s the question.
For someone like me I don’t think I would seek out a grass fed protein powder and pay this kind of premium. If you are looking for a high quality grass fed protein powder then this is a solid bet. If you look across the internet you can find other grass fed proteins for cheaper but then are they using sucralose?
