ProSupps Hyde Signature Hits The Sweet Spot On Pump VS Energy

ProSupps is not new to the game in terms of having great products, especially their pre workouts. Their banned substance tested and fully transparent formula sets them apart from other similar companies in terms of how much work goes into formulating and testing their products. Hyde Signature is their new ‘must-have’ pre workout said to enhance energy and focus, increase blood flow, and is suited for anyone looking to up their training performance. Hyde Signature is available in four different flavors: Blue Razz, Fruit Punch, Watermelon, and Pixie Dust, and can be purchased in 30 or 60 serving containers.

The formula for Hyde Signature has been split up into three different categories of ingredient profiles: Strength, Intensity, and Stimulatory. We’ll first look into the ingredients included in the strength matrix.

Beta Alanine – 2g

HydeSigSFPKnown for the ‘itchy’ feeling (paresthesia), beta alanine has a lot of great benefits. Beta alanine is a non-essential amino acid that aids in the production of carnosine (plays a role in high- intensity exercise). It is proven by science to enhance performance through increased muscular endurance, which in turn can increase the length of time that you are able to perform at an optimal level. With a serving of 2g, it is on the lower end of the optimal recommended range (3.2-6.4 g).

Creatine Monohydrate – 1g

Creatine is one of the most researched supplements on the market- and I’m sure you’ve heard about it. The easiest way to explain creatine is that it donates a phosphate to facilitate the recycling of ATP. ATP is the first form of energy that your body uses while lifting. Creatine = increased strength and performance.
This product has 1 g of creatine monohydrate, so I would not consider this product to fulfill your daily need for creatine intake. I would recommend still taking a separate creatine product in addition to Hyde.

Arginine Silicate Inositol (Nitrosigine®) – 500 mg

Nitrosigine® is scientifically engineered to deliver benefits essential to peak sports
performance. Its use has been proven in 30 different studies to be safe and effective at increasing nitric oxide, blood flow, performance, and focus. The recommended dosage of Nitrosigine® is 1,500mg , so I’d say Hyde is on the lower end.

L-Citrulline L-Aspartic Acid 1:1 – 500 mg

L-Citrulline is a common ingredient in pre workouts and pump products. L-Citrulline is effective as a performance enhancing ingredient because of its ability to increase blood flow, endurance and may also provide assistance with muscular growth and recovery. L-Aspartic Acid is used to increase the strength of muscles, improve performance, and reduce fatigue. These two ingredients in combination are a good addition to the strength matrix of Hyde.

Choline Bitartrate – 500 mg

Choline is a widely used ingredient commonly found in pre workouts and fat burners. Its main use is for increased focus- aiding in the intensity of your workout.
With a serving of 500 mg, this is within the recommended range- taking too much can cause headaches, so it’s recommended to start at a lower dose.

L-Theanine – 26 mg

Most people see l-theanine and think of relaxation (not what you think of as an ingredient for a pre workout). This is actually a great ingredient because it will lower stress. This will help clear your head and increase productivity and focus. Just what you want to help increase the intensity during your workout. 26 mg is on the lower end of the recommended dose (50-200mg) but even at a low dose, there are still benefits that you can take advantage of during a workout.

N-Acetyl Tyrosine – 26 mg

N-Acetyl Tyrosine is a cognitive enhancing ingredient that may improve mental capabilities and increase focus.

Gamma-aminobutyric Acid (GABA) – 13mg

GABA is mainly seen in sleep aids. It can help reduce anxiety and help your muscles recover and build while you sleep. To see this in a pre-workout was a little odd. When paired with L- theanine, the combination of the two can be linked to lowering stress, which in turn can clear the mind and help with focus. At 13 mg, this is very low in comparison to what we recommend as an ideal dose; 750mg-2.5 g.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 169 mg

Caffeine Anhydrous is the purest form of caffeine, and also the most common. You will see this in pre workouts, fat burners, and energy boosters. It’s used to increase energy. For dosage, it is a very person to person ingredient. Some people can feel the effects on as little as 80 mg, where others need at least 400 mg to feel anything. Dosed at 169 mg, this is a decent amount for any user, and I’d say that depending on tolerance and desired effect, it makes this serving size customizable.

Di- Caffeine Malate – 37 mg

Di-Caffeine Malate is a buffered form of your typical caffeine. It provides long-lasting energy instead of the initial rush that you get from caffeine. This will work hand in hand with the Caffeine Anhydrous in terms of elongating the energy enhancing effects, and will prevent the ‘crash’ that many people experience from caffeine use. Since this product is only made up of 75% caffeine (other 25% is Malic Acid), this is a low dose.

Theacrine  (40%)(as TeaCrine®) – 16 mg

L-Theacrine as TeaCrine® is a non-stimulant ingredient that works well with caffeine to prolong energy and improve focus. 16 mg is on the lower end of the typical 50 mg dose.

Final Takeaway

Hyde Signature has a good ingredient profile to make for a basic pre workout product. I will say that most of the ingredients used seemed to be dosed on the lower end. (My opinion is based on studies of recommended dosages for each ingredient). If you’re looking for a starter pre workout that won’t break the bank, ProSupps Hyde Signature could be a great addition to your pre workout stack!
