Remember the ones that used to taste chalky? Yeah, now they are like eating a candy bar (and most of them actually are candy bars!) However, some companies decided to get creative and start making protein cookies. We’ve love that opportunity.

My Protein Bites Cookie Bites are taking advantage of that opportunity too. These aren’t another frosting covered cookie, no. These actually look like real cookies baked in the over – taste like it too! With 24g of protein per 3 cookies and limited fats, these are a nice healthy treat for you. Their protein sources are not as high quality as others we’ve seen, but we believe that’s a contributing factor to the great taste. The takeaway here is that these taste good, texture-wise are great, but you may take a small hit on ingredients used…and that is OK.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/Q2X6TH5605I” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” bg_color=”#2e2e2e” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”padding-5-percent” column_padding_position=”all” background_color=”#efefef” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_color_hover=”#ffffff” background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”medium_depth” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”2px” column_border_color=”#000000″ column_border_style=”solid”][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-arrow-right” color=”Accent-Color”]

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at quality of protein used in the protein bars and amount, macros and other ingredients involved in the making of this protein bar.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to try the following flavors: Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip, Double Dutch Chocolate, Snickerdoodle, Red Velvet Cake, Lemon Drop, White Chocolate Macadamia and Oatmeal Raisin.

Texture is important in a protein bar selection. We review the texture as well. We discuss chalkiness, chewiness, softness and crunch.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, taste and texture in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of protein bars available on the market.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]

Ingredients Profile

(7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]My Protein Bites Cookie Bites are unique in that they utilize protein from other sources before they get it from whey/dairy protein – or even plant protein. The protein blend consists of oat flour, non-fat milk powder, whey protein concentrate and brown rice flour. This is atypical in this industry. Typically your protein blend will be milk protein or whey concentrate/isolate. MPB decides to start with oat flour, which is not bad at all, just not as “high” quality as whey. You’re also going to find ingredients that you find in real cookies…like brown sugar (only 4g total and 2g of it being added per cookie). The cookies also use whole eggs, like mommy used too. Almond milk is also used.

The macros are the following per (3) cookies:

Calories: 270
Fats: 7.5g
Carbs: 30g (12g of sugar)
Protein: 24g

Carbs are a tad high, but they typically are in cookies. Especially cookies using oat flour as the first protein source.

Essentially what MPB did was take your traditional cookie recipe and replace the flour with their protein source, making these healthier versions of your traditional oven baked cookies.

Takeaways here are that these taste great because of the ingredients used, but sugars are a bit high for me and I would prefer higher quality protein sources, but these would NOT deter me from eating or buying these.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”5258″ alignment=”center” animation=”None” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]

Taste

Birthday Cake: (8/10) Chocolate Chip: (8/10) Snickerdoodle: (8/10) Double Dutch Chocolate: (8/10) Red Velvet: (8/10) White Chocolate Macadamia: (8/10) Lemon Drop: (8/10) Oatmeal Raisin: (8/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I will be completely honest, I liked all 8 of the flavors I tried. As I mentioned in the profile section, the ingredients used make these cookies taste better than many on the market. Are these the best tasting cookies I have ever had in terms of protein cookies? Very close. I have other other “special” flavored cookies, but these gave me the most rounded home baked cookie experience.

The one thing that is apparent, at least to me, was that the flavors are too different from each other in terms of taste. They are all pretty similar. Thankfully they taste good, but I would like to see more distinguishing tastes between the flavors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]

Texture

(9/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]If you think about fresh baked cookies you typically think of chewy and gooey. After the cookies cool down, they get a little “crispier.” That’s what these reminded me of. They were soft to eat, looked home baked, but not as soft as fresh baked. The first bite reminding me of day old cookies. This is a good thing. They are a tad dry making them feel a bit more “crispy” than fresh baked cookies. I would much rather have this than some chalky texture.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]

Value

(7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]When thinking of value, you look at what else is out there in terms of protein snacks. Most of them are bars. MPB includes 8 packs of cookies (3 cookies per pack) for $25. If you look at protein bars, you typically get 12 for $20-$25 depending on the brand. Most of those protein bars are around 20g protein mark. With these, you get 24g, which is a bonus, but the protein isn’t from the same high quality sources that those 20g bars are.

Overall, the value comes from this being different and great tasting compared to a protein bar. Sure, you can get protein snacks cheaper and more of them if you wish, and there are other alternative cookies out there, but these really were some of my favorite in terms of taste and texture. If you can get these on-sale or with a coupon code, it’s money![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][heading]Available at these Fitness Informant approved retailers:[/heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color=”#efefef” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”2px” column_border_style=”solid”][tabbed_section style=”default” alignment=”left”][tab title=”1-BOX” id=”1509114502646-0d5a3-7611″ tab_id=”1509806930603-9″][vc_row_inner column_margin=”default” top_padding=”10″ bottom_padding=”10″ text_align=”left” css=”.vc_custom_1509116724210{background-color: #2e2e2e !important;}”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/1″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]  PRICE COMPARISON:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” column_margin=”default” text_align=”left”][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” centered_text=”true” background_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/4″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]A1Supplements Logo[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” centered_text=”true” background_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/4″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]
