Overview of Iron Brothers Supplements BCAA/EAA Formula
From our experience and what we know about Iron Brothers Supplements, they make quality stuff and offer it at an affordable price. We are fans of that for us and for you.
Iron Brothers Supplements BCAA/EAA formula takes the argument out of the equation by offering 5g of 2:1:1 BCAA mixed with other EAAs to give you the full spectrum. Oh, and they toss in 5g if Carb10. Overall, a solid formula and worth the price tag associated with it. Check it out!
Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed Iron Brothers Supplements BCAA/EAA Formula on five categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the amount of aminos used, as well as the kind of aminos, the ratio and other ingredients involved in the making of this BCAA powder.
We then look at effectiveness. A high BCAA product will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Fruit Burst.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of BCAA products on the market; both with and without caffeine.
A BCAA and EAA formula (BCAAs are EAAs people) with Carb10! That’s what we got here.
We get 5g of 2:1:1 BCAA (InstAminos from Compound Solutions). These are quality aminos (may not be fermented/vegan FYI). This is the ratio we want and the dosage that is acceptable. I have no qualms with this at all.
We also get other EAAs which people are losing their minds over. Collectively this should provide a full spectrum of aminos to provide adequate muscle recovery, repair and growth.
Outside the aminos, we get 5g of Carb10 carbohydrates. These are fast absorbing carbs that can help restore glycogen levels to help provide energy.
Overall, a nice formula that is more than just aminos (BCAA specifically) using expensive ingredients like InstAminos and Carb10.
Effectiveness of an amino/intra workout comes down to the profile. The profile here is fricken solid. This is going to be an effective intra workout product due to the dosage of BCAA and the addition of EAAs. Also, the Carb10 helps restore glycogen levels which is needed.
You want to look for a couple things. Does this hydrate you? As it should. It does. Also, does it relieve DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)? It does. Overall, solid.
This is a strong tasting product – similar to a gum I had when I was a kid. I cannot remember the name, but it is good. It’s a bit too strong for intra workout….I guess I like the taste of water, but still not bad. It is very fruit forward. If you like those things then you will like this.
A single serving is 14.2g which is quite high for an intra workout. This mixes well for that size. InstAminos do mix better than your traditional aminos, so that is a benefit of this product. Check out our full video above for the mixability test!
Overall, pleased with mixability.
I am not shocked to find that this formula, an expensive one, retails for less than $1 per serving. While other companies use cheap aminos and do not add any value-add like EAAs or Carb10, Iron Brothers Supplements is and at an affordable price. This is one of the best values you can find on an intra workout out there! For more amino acid supplement options, check out our guide.
