Overview of MAN Sports Iso Amino
MAN Sports was the first company to come out with candy flavored products, and it’s nice to see that those initial products and flavors are still around.
Iso-Amino won’t wow you with results, but it doesn’t over-promise on anything. It is a simple BCAA supplement with plenty of great flavors to choose from, and all at a very affordable price. This seems like more of a staple product than one you buy to try once and forget.
Why You Should Trust Our Reviews
- EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more. - FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product. - INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do. - 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed MAN Sports Iso Amino on five categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in this amino acid supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.
We then look at effectiveness. An effective amino acid product will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that amino product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Sour Batch and Grape Bubblegum.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12-16 oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of BCAA/EAA products on the market.
Ingredients Profile
It’s a very simple profile, very little to go over. Iso-Amino is a 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, an Valine). Each scoop gives you 5 grams, which is standard. Now this is pretty much all there is to it besides the flavoring.
So it’s not underdosed, not gimmicky, and not bad. Another thing this product doesn’t have, are dyes, which is a good thing (in my opinion). Now with that said, there are no additional benefits here, not even something simple like electrolytes.
Effectiveness
I typically used this between meals, as I usually go 5+ hours between them. On occasion I’d drink it throughout my workout as well. It’s really nice to sip on, and the effectiveness was on par with other BCAA products out there. I noticed an decrease in DOMS and a nice boost in the morning when I didn’t want to train fasted but had no desire to eat either.
There isn’t too much in here, but there isn’t much to complain about either. Yes it could use some electrolytes, but it’s still effective where it counts.
Taste
Sour Batch:
Grape Bubblegum:
So Iso-Amino has been out for several years now, and MAN Sports started this trend of basing their flavors off of popular candy companies. You can kind of make out what candy they are emulating by the name.
Sour Batch seems to be the most popular flavor, and for good reason. It doesn’t taste a lot like the candy it’s name would suggest in my opinion, but they certainly got somewhere in the ballpark. It’s sweet, but not overly sweet. The same can be said for the sour as well. It’s a nice balanced flavor that tastes good in 8 oz of water and tastes just as good when watered down. This is my favorite flavor and it has become one of those supplements I seem to always keep around. While this has been my favorite flavor so far, it seems to be a flavor that you either love or hate.
Grape Bubblegum flavor it quite predictable, a mix between that artificial grape and bubblegum flavor. It is pretty much 50/50 on both flavors, and tastes exactly like many grape bubblegums on the market. It’s a flavor that you have to be in the mood for. It’s nice to sip on, but not the most refreshing.
Mixability
Not much to complain about here. It mixes well, however with it being a BCAA product, you have to expect foaming. Of course, simply wait a few minutes and the foam will settle if it bothers you that much. The lack of dyes is nice, and of course there are no clumps to speak of.
Value
Iso-Amino is one of the best priced BCAAs you can find. You can usually find this for around $20. There are always special sales on it as well, so you shouldn’t have too hard of a time finding this for well-under that. Even at $20, it’s affordable and worth stocking up on.
