Ingredients Profile
[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]IntraMax contains many great ingredients with proven studies shown to shorten recovery periods and improve muscle recovery through the activation of protein synthesis.
IntraMax starts with 6g of Whey Protein Hydrolysate. This is the fastest absorbing form of whey protein on the market. You also get an additional 3g of L-Leucine added to the intra-workout. Recent studies have shown that low protein dosages (6.25g) with higher L-Leucine dosages (5g) actually out perform 25g of protein in terms of protein synthesis. We are VERY close here to matching this study with the added 3g of L-Leucine. The additional L-Leucine supplementation, mixed with the EAAs of the Whey Protein Hydrolysate increases post-workout protein synthesis.
Next, we get three forms of Creatine making up 3g. Creatine helps improve muscular strength and gains. The forms are Creatine Monohydrate, Magnesium Creatine and Creatine Anhydrous. Creatine Monohydrate is the most popular form and effective form of Creatine. This is traditionally dosed at 5g for effectiveness. Some studies indicate that after supplementing with creatine through the “load” phase, you only need 3g of creatine per day to be effective. I am personally still a fan of supplementing with 5g of monohydrate per day. Creatine has been long studied and numerous studies exist.
Next, we get 2,500mg of L-Glutamine, L-Alanine and L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine. This combination helps with muscle recovery and repair. Many studies now show that just L-Glutamine alone doesn’t have a place in sports nutrition. It does help with gut health, but overall does not help with muscle gains or recovery. Studies show that the combination of L-Glutamine and L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine have positive effects on duration exercises at lower dosages.
Betaine is dosed at 2,500mg. This is the clinical dosage of Betaine. Betaine helps with strength output. You typically find this in pre-workouts.
Taurine is used at 1,500mg. Taurine is typically used in pre-workouts to help with strength and endurance. This is typically dosed at 500mg-2,000mg.
GlycerPump, used to increase pumps and used in VasoMax is dosed at 1g. This helps improve blood flow to the muscles which will improve endurance and help with repair and recovery.
Sodium Phosphate is dosed at 200mg and Potassium Phosphate is dosed at 150mg. These ingredients help improve athletic performance.
Overall, this is an all-in-one recovery formula. Effectiveness

This is a direct extension of the ingredient profile.If you read the ingredient profile section, you are well aware that this product has solid ingredients used at dosages backed by clinical studies. When you do supplement with IntraMax you can definitely tell you have increased muscle endurance, and increase point to exhaustion.
It also does a very nice job of keeping you hydrated. It quenches your thirst, but at the same time wants you to drink more of it. This is a good thing so you can get these ingredients into your body and then into your muscle tissue.

Taste
Orange Dream: [/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I was disappointed in the flavor of IntraMax. I am a huge fan of orange. I have had a lot of orange BCAA products. Many, if not most, taste better than this. This also doesn’t taste a lot like orange, in my opinion.

Mixability

You want that anyway because you drink this while you workout. With that said, mixability is decent on this product. The issue for a lot of people is the price tag on supplements compared to what you “budget” for them. Intra-workout supplements typically take a backseat to pre-workout and protein powder supplements. This doesn’t bold well for a higher priced premium intra-workout product.IntraMax is a higher priced PREMIUM intra-workout product. It retails for around $40 and provides 25-servings. Although the studies show that protein synthesis is increased by the ration used in IntraMax, the consumer would rather spend $40 on whey protein and get “more” in their eyes.
With that said, it is hard to justify $40 for 25-servings on an intra-workout when you see BCAA products on the market designed to improve muscle recovery retail for a lot less. HOWEVER, IntraMax is a quality product that does justify a higher price tag.
If IntraMax had a better flavor profile and 5 more servings this would be an easy sell, but I understand it is hard for some to justify it when they don’t “feel” something from an intra-workout as they do with a pre-workout. Is IntraMax worth $40? Yes. Should you buy it? That’s up to you. If you have the money, then I say yes, buy it.
