EPH Bomb starts with caffeine anhydrous. Caffeine will stimulate the central nervous system to provide energy, which in-turn, will increase your metabolism in your body. You’ll have have an increased sense of energy.
EPH Bomb then moves into a proprietary blend. Not a fan of these, especially when stimulants are being used. The first ingredient listed is β-phenylethylamine. β-phenylethylamine has been known to increase mood and aid in weight loss. The supplement company that produced β-phenylethylamine stated it was a mood enhancer and aids in concentration and focus. Not a lot of correlation with weight loss, but yet it is still found in many diet pills. Not a lot of studies exists to support weight loss, but some state that it does help suppress appetite.
The next ingredient of the proprietary blend is 2-amino-5-methylhexane, also known as DMHA. This is the natural occurring form of DMHA. DMHA is a stimulant much like caffeine, but stronger. It will help speed up metabolism and improve energy.
Nettle Root Extract is used next. This ingredient, also known as Stinging Nettle Root, is used primarily to treat joint pain. However, there are some studies that state it does help with obesity. The common thought is that by removing metabolic waste, in which Nettle Root Extract helps with, you will reduce body fat.
Synephrine HCL is very similar to ephedrine, but not as potent per Examine.com. This is also known as Bitter Orange. This is used towards the end of the prop blend. We do see this ingredient commonly used in fat burners.
Last, we get Yohimbine HCL. Yohimbine is a fat burner compound, again, commonly used in fat burners. This is the last ingredient used in the prop blend. Yohimbine works by increasing adrenaline in your body that helps regulate your fat cells to aid in fat burning.
Overall, EPH Bomb doesn’t use any unique ingredients. It is pretty standard. Caffeine Anhydrous is the first ingredient at 250mg. This is the only transparent ingredient on the label. This is sufficient in terms of boosting energy.
Next, we get the proprietary blend. The blend is 245mg of five ingredients. β-phenylethylamine is commonly dosed starting at 100mg, which is a very mild dose. For more intense effects, you want 250-500mg. As you can see, this prop blend doesn’t allow for that to be accomplished. β-phenylethylamine is also one of the ingredients without a lot of studies backing the effectiveness on weight loss. We can assume that this is on the lower side of the dosage requirements.
DMHA tends to be dosed between 150-200mg (at least in pre-workouts). It is safe to say, since it is the second ingredient, that it would not be dosed that high. We can assume this is on the lower side of dosage requirements.
Nettle Root Extract has studies typically having dosage around 300mg per day. I will let you figure it out on this one. Hint, not dosed high enough.
Synephrine HCL is said to be dosed properly between 50mg and 60mg per day. This is towards the end of the ingredient list. We cannot say with 100% certainty, but it is highly likely that this is under dosed as well.
Lastly, we get Yohimbine. Yohimbine is dosaged between 14-22mg depending on your weight. We can assume that this may be properly dosed, but we typically see supplement companies use 5-10mg in their products.
On paper, EPH Bomb uses generic weight loss ingredients, but it appears that they are highly under dosed. With the inclusion of caffeine and DMHA, you will feel the boost in energy. With that, you may experience a crash. With an increase in energy, you will get an increase in metabolism. Even with DMHA being potentially under dosed, Caffeine Anhydrous is dosed around where we’d expect it.
Regarding appetite suppressant, I cannot get on-board with that. I ate normal while using this product. Increasing metabolism is going to make you hungry. You better have a strong appetite suppressing ingredient to help you limit those hunger cravings.
In terms of thermogenic, any inclusion of caffeine may increase your body temp. However, I like to see cayenne pepper being used here or something similar to help with increased body temp.
I didn’t find that this product was super effective with fat loss. Generic ingredients being under dosed does not help their cause.
Someone who wants to try a product in this category for the first time may want to test this, but I would point you in a different direction. Jabra makes headsets for all sorts of areas. Most notably, they make the phones and headsets for a lot of the businesses in the world. In fact, my office uses Jabra headsets for our phone systems. I knew that Jabra was solid in terms of tech when it came to headsets, so I was not shocked to find out that they made these ear buds that were supposedly great.
We were able to nail down a pair of Jabra Sport Pulse wireless headphones. With that said, there is still an ear-to-ear wire, but a Bluetooth connection to your phone doesn’t require a wire there. The Jabra Sport Pulse headphones come with a built-in heart rate monitor which connects to the downloadable Jabra app (which provides a lot of cool functions). First, these are not true wireless ear buds. There is a wire connected from the right earbud to the left earbud. They are, however, a Bluetooth connection away from your smart phone. This means that there are no wires connecting the headphones to your streaming device, but you will still have one ear-to-ear. For some, this is OK. For others, it is an annoyance. For us, we have tested them all, and we understand that the headphones with an ear-to-ear wired connection are going to be more economically feasible for the consumer.
Second, these are not over-the-ear headphones. What does that mean? It means that these are not Beats Studio. They are designed to go inside your ear canal. This is where Jabra does a very nice job.
Included with your Jabra Sport Pulse headphones are various connectors to ensure a secure fit (which will improve sound quality). The package includes (4) different sizes of EarWings. These are what hold the headphone in your ear. You get to choose between small, medium, medium plus and large. You want to select the size that best fits your ear. The size we selected fit comfortably in our ears. We could shake our head vigorously and they wouldn’t fall out. They are also made of rubber, so sweat isn’t an issue.
You also get (6) options of EarGels. These are the “tips” that go inside your ear. You can choose small, medium or large in either silicon gel or foam tips. You want to select the one that fits best in your ear to ensure you have optimal sound quality.
The headphones are also designed with a built-in heart rate monitor. This is great to connect to your downloaded Jabra app to determine how many calories you’ve burned, VO2 max test, etc. The nice part about this built-in heart rate monitor is it can connect to third-party apps like Runtastic and MapMyFitness.
The built-in USB port is under the right earbud covered by a plastic protector. This is nice and easy to find, plug in and recharge.
Lastly, you do get the control functionality on the wire itself. Here you can increase or decrease volume. It is also where the microphone is housed for phone calls. You also answer and drop calls with a touch of this area too.
Overall, the design on the Jabra Pulse Sport headphones are nice, for a “wired” set of headphones. We would prefer true wireless but the pricing is double, if not triple. The Jabra app connects to your headphones. Here, it gathers info like heart rate to help you through various methods within the app. Within the app you can plan workouts, test fitness levels, analyze your fitness and have an in-ear personal trainer! This is value-add by Jabra and the Jabra app.
Ease of use is big with headphones. These paired very quickly to our smartphone via Bluetooth connection. Using the headphones (turning them on) is as easy as holding one button. I would say these are “idiot” proof.
Sound quality is huge in the headphone market. We’ve used over-the-ear headphones in the past. These are always going to be optimal to any in-ear headphone (unless they are custom) in terms of sound quality. The bass was good. Again, with the over-the-ear headphones, the bass is superior. Treble was good too. Overall loudness was OK. If we compare to over-the-ear again we would come in inferior. Compared to other in-ear headphones these were on-par. They were loud enough to “dim” the outside surrounding environment. You would have to turn them down or off to hear someone talk to you. One thing to note is that different ear buds provide a better sound quality. The foam tips provide much better sound than the gels.
Range is another big thing on wireless headphones. We set our smartphone down and walked away from it. The connection remained clear for a good 90 feet and then started to cut out. If you leave your phone in one room and walk to another where there is a wall, the range is quite a bit less. There was never an issue with the Bluetooth connection cutting in and out when our phone was with us.
Battery life is OK. You get 5-hours of playtime on the Jabra Sport Pulse. This lasts us about a week in the gym. We have had competitors come in longer, sometimes as much as 10-hours, but we also realize these are less expensive than those counterparts.
Overall, the functionality fits the price level. They work. The sound quality isn’t the greatest on the planet, but it is’t the worse. The reason we started reviewing headphones was because of the lack of durability in the headphone market. Beats made some OK headphones, but they broke rapidly.
Jabra Sport Pulse headphones are lightweight. If you drop them, no big deal. If you step on them…then you might have an issue. Some of the big players in this space use plastic to secure the headphones in your ears. Here we are using rubber.
The rubber coating on the actual ear buds also provide protection against sweat. On top of that, Jabra provides a 3-year warranty against sweat damage.
The carrying case isn’t anything special. It is a mesh bag with a drawstring to put your headphones in. I would prefer a harder case, something that would protect them better. This is one of the negatives of durability, although it doesn’t directly pertain to the headphones themselves.
Overall, the lightweight of the headphones make these feel as if they lack durability, but they don’t. There’s not much on it that could break compared to some of the competitors on the market. The only negative is the carry case.
Fashionability of the headphones means, “how cool do these look on me?” The fact there is a wire from ear-to-ear makes them less fashionable compared to true wireless headphones like the Jabra Elite Sports. However, they are still discreet in your ear, and not clunky.
These retail for up to $100 a pair. That is on-par with what to expect today. Because Jabra is such a great customer service focused company, and the headphones truly are great, this is a fantastic value. Protein comes from whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. These are two solid, stable forms of protein that contributes to healthy gains. We are not sure what quality whey protein concentrate is used, and it is used first, but the fact we have concentrate and isolate is a good thing.
Because this is a chocolate coated protein bar, you’d think there would be a lot of sugar, however that is not the case. There is only 4g of sugar in this bar (3g were added). This is overall good when you look at the size of the bar (83g).
Since we mentioned sugar, let’s take a look at the rest of the macros:

Fats: 13g
Carbohydrates: 33g
I am happy with the fats not being double than the original. In fact, this bar only had 3g more of fat while it being 33g larger. Protein is 10g more in this version than the original. Lastly, carbs are doubled in this bar at 33g compared to 17g in the original.
Overall, I don’t mind the larger bar, but if you do only eat half of this, you would get 15g of protein but still the same amount of carbs as the 55g original bar. For bulking, this bar is great. When asked to describe it, the first thing that came to mind was, “very chocolatey.” The label says chocolate and the bar tastes just like that. It’s a good tasting chocolate as well.

IntraMax starts with 6g of Whey Protein Hydrolysate. This is the fastest absorbing form of whey protein on the market. You also get an additional 3g of L-Leucine added to the intra-workout. Recent studies have shown that low protein dosages (6.25g) with higher L-Leucine dosages (5g) actually out perform 25g of protein in terms of protein synthesis. Next, we get three forms of Creatine making up 3g. Creatine helps improve muscular strength and gains. The forms are Creatine Monohydrate, Magnesium Creatine and Creatine Anhydrous. Creatine Monohydrate is the most popular form and effective form of Creatine. This is traditionally dosed at 5g for effectiveness. Some studies indicate that after supplementing with creatine through the “load” phase, you only need 3g of creatine per day to be effective. I am personally still a fan of supplementing with 5g of monohydrate per day. Creatine has been long studied and numerous studies exist.
Next, we get 2,500mg of L-Glutamine, L-Alanine and L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine. This combination helps with muscle recovery and repair. Many studies now show that just L-Glutamine alone doesn’t have a place in sports nutrition. It does help with gut health, but overall does not help with muscle gains or recovery. Studies show that the combination of L-Glutamine and L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine have positive effects on duration exercises at lower dosages.
Betaine is dosed at 2,500mg. This is the clinical dosage of Betaine. Betaine helps with strength output. You typically find this in pre-workouts.

IntraMax is a higher priced PREMIUM intra-workout product. It retails for around $40 and provides 25-servings. Although the studies show that protein synthesis is increased by the ration used in IntraMax, the consumer would rather spend $40 on whey protein and get “more” in their eyes.
With that said, it is hard to justify $40 for 25-servings on an intra-workout when you see BCAA products on the market designed to improve muscle recovery retail for a lot less. HOWEVER, IntraMax is a quality product that does justify a higher price tag.
If IntraMax had a better flavor profile and 5 more servings this would be an easy sell, but I understand it is hard for some to justify it when they don’t “feel” something from an intra-workout as they do with a pre-workout. Is IntraMax worth $40? Yes. Should you buy it? That’s up to you. If you have the money, then I say yes, buy it. We start with 1,670mg of Beet Root Powder. This does increase blood flow carrying oxygen rich blood to your muscles allowing you to push a little longer. Don’t believe me? Eat a whole bag of beets and you will see. This is a great dosage of Beet Root Powder.
Next, you get 1,500mg of Taurine. Taurine has been shown to increase endurance and strength output. We find this dosed between 500mg-2,000mg. You can do the math, optimal dosage.
PeakO2 is a cool ingredient that we find more and more in endurance enhancing supplements. This is dosed at 1,000mg. Studies have shown that PeakO2 users improved their time to exhaustion by 70-seconds. It also helps with oxygen utilization, oxygen uptake and more. Studies show that optimal dosage is 1g per day. That’s what you’re getting here.
Beta-Alanine is dosed at 3.2g. This is the clinical dosage of Beta-Alanine. Beta-Alanine is used for endurance. Some studies link it to reducing lactic acid (the stuff that can cause muscle soreness or DOMS).
Choline Bitartrate is dosed at 1g. This is a cognitive enhancing ingredient. This is actually pretty high compared to some pre-workouts designed for strength athletes. I am a fan of the higher dosage. You need mental strength while completing endurance activities.
ActiGin, used to prolong endurance and help with recovery, is dosed at 50mg. The recommended daily use of ActiGin is 50mg.
Huperzine-A is a cognitive enhancing ingredient. This is dosed at .05mg or 50mcg. Recommended dosage is 50-200mcg per day. This is at the low end, but still within range.
PerformElite also uses elevATP at 200mg. This is a solid dosage of elevATP which has been shown to improve endurance and output. Typical dosage is 150mg, so you’re getting more than that here.
Lastly, you get 300mg of energy in PURENERGY (150mg) and Caffeine Anhydrous (150mg). PURENERGY extends the half-life of caffeine by 25% meaning you will have prolonged sustained energy. This means you will get the energy right away from the Caffeine A, but not the crash since it uses PURENERGY as well. Think about it, you want a nice sustained energy throughout your endurance activity.
Overall, this is an endurance enhancing pre-workout, nothing more. However, for endurance only, this is very effective. I would use this product for my cardio-only days. I am in no-way an endurance athlete, but it did make the 20-30 minutes on the stairmaster go a lot better. You can tell you breath easier and you don’t get tired as quickly.
This is a great pre-workout if you’re training for a 5k, half marathon or a full. For the purpose of value here, I compare it to other endurance only pre-workouts, I feel that is fair. At $1.60 a serving it is a good value since it does in fact work. Royal Pre-Workout is a solid non-stimulant pre-workout. That’s right. No caffeine. What?! Listen, not every pre-workout needs stimulants. In fact, if you’re looking to ease off stimulants than Royal Pre-Workout would be a solid choice given the dosage amounts of several key ingredients. We then look at effectiveness. An effective pre-workout will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Peach Mango.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Royal Pre-Workout starts with 6g of Citrulline Malate. The clinical dosage of L-Citrulline is 6g. No one can complain about clinical dosages of the pump ingredient Citrulline.
Next, Royal gives us the clinical dosage of Beta Alanine at 3.2g. Beta Alanine has been shown to increase endurance and strength outputs.
Hydromax is up next at 2g. Hydromax, also known as Glycerol, is a popular pump activating ingredient found in many pump activating supplements. At 2g, this is pretty high and favorable to coincide with the 6g of Citrulline Malate. A side note on Hydromax, if exposed to air, it will start to clump.
Taurine is dosed at 1g. Typical dosage of Taurine is 1g – 3g per day (prior to exercise we typically see 500mg – 2,000mg). Taking 1g prior to training has been shown to increase endurance and strength output.
Agmatine Sulfate is dosed at 1g. This is a pain reducer (helps with one more rep) and a pump inducing ingredient by increasing NO levels. This is dosed well at 1g.
L-Tyrosine is dosed at 1g. This is a cognitive enhancing ingredient that we typically see dosed 500mg-2,000mg prior to exercise.
Alpha GPC is one of my favorite nootropics being used today. This comes in at a massive dosage of 600mg. Many companies make a nootropic that doesn’t even include this high of a dosage of Alpha-GPC. This is such a great addition to this non-stim pre-workout that will really enhance your focus.
Royal Pre-Workout also uses elevATP at 150mg. This has been shown to increase strength and power output. The common agreement is 150mg is sufficient dosage amount.
Norvaline is used to increase your pump. Typical dosage is between 100mg-200mg. Royal doses this at 100mg.
Royal does include 5mg of Bioperine to help with absorption.
Lastly, Royal includes 100mcg of Huperzine A. This is a cognitive enhancing ingredient that we typically see dosed between 50mcg-200mcg per day.
Overall, great ingredients used, the only thing this lacks is energy…which would come from caffeine. In terms of a non-stim pre-workout, this is one of the best ingredient profiles on the market. The most noticeable part of this pre-workout is its cognitive enhancing function. I love Alpha GPC, so at 600mg you are sure to experience a focus in which you typically don’t find in a pre-workout. This is where Royal Pre-Workout tries to get around the lack of energy in the product. The addition of L-Tyrosine and Huperzine A helps contribute to a really great focus. For a non-stim, the focus is amazing.
The other part of this pre-workout is the pump. I am a fan of the 2g of Glycerol aka Hydromax. I also like the use of 6g of Citrulline Malate. Combined with Agmatine Sulfate and Norvaline, you are sure to experience a nice pump. Supplementing with a pump agent may not be necessary based on how you respond to these ingredients. Overall, the pump was decent, but it does take quite a bit for me to get swole.
My takeaway is that this is an effective pre-workout powder. There’s a nice addition of elevATP and a clinical dosage of Beta Alanine to help you power through your pre-workout without the caffeine. I know a lot of you will pay extra for caffeine. We ran a poll on this and that’s what it showed. So for most, this will be too high of a price tag for a non-stimulant based pre-workout. I would agree. Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to try the following flavors: Carrot Cake.

The MyCookie starts with brown rice flour. We would rather see this than wheat flour or typical flour we use in baking.
Then, the big part, the protein. Protein is derived from whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. These are two solid protein sources to make the MyCookie. I like the use of WPC and WPI instead of milk protein.
MyCookie, the Carrot Cake flavor, uses white chocolate chunks (which are great but we will discuss this later), but it does include sugar in these, and in the bar. The overall sugar content per cookie is 7g. This is rather high for a cookie at 80g when some protein bars are larger (88g) and have less than 4g of sugar. With that said, it is to be expected due to the carrot cake flavor and the white chocolate chunks.
Overall, in terms of ingredients used, there is nothing I would deem as questionable in the MyCookie. I like the carb source and like the protein source.

Fats and carbs are higher than your typical protein bar, while protein content is lower, not to mention the cookie is smaller in terms of size compared to some large size protein bars.
Overall, I don’t mind the macros, but would prefer the fats to come down and protein to go up. But this MyCookie…WOW! What I like best about it is that it is so different than your typical chocolate, birthday cake, cookies and cream, etc bars on the market. Carrot cake literally tastes just like a piece of cake my Grandmother would make (yes, I tried it at least once and it was really good…thanks Grandma!) Not only does the flavor taste like carrot cake it also tastes really good.
The MyCookie is also better tasting than the Lenny and Larry’s cookies on the market as well. The flavor is true to taste. With that said, there is a value to be placed on taste and texture which is better on the MyCookie than most, if not all, protein bars. Plus, sometimes you just want a change of pace and move away from the protein bar.

Anesthetized relies heavy on a single ingredient, Phenibut, to provide you with sweet dreams. A lot of companies are now using this ingredient. However, this ingredient, as effective as it may be, can propose some risk. When used in small amounts it can act as a stress reliever. Some companies dose this at 250mg per pill, or 500mg per scoop. Prior to this review, the most I ever saw per serving was 1g. Blackstone takes it above and beyond at 1,800mg (1.8g). Honestly, I love Phenibut, but this is dosed too high. Yes, you can take 1/2 a serving, but then you are cutting down on the other ingredients. Phenibut is a calming agent and it does work.

N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine is known as the mood enhancing and cognitive improvement drug. Anesthetized doses Tyrosine at 500mg. You typically find this is a pre-workout, and it is best dosed at 500-2,000mg. In this case, it’s used to help relieve any stressors you may have to help fall asleep.
Valerian Root Extract is dosed at 250mg. The purpose of this is to treat sleep disorders. It’s only natural to find it in a sleep aid. WebMD recommends 400-900mg 30-minutes before bed to help with an inability to sleep.
Lastly, we get 100mg of Mucana Pruriens. This produces L-DOPA in the body, which allows you to focus and ease into a good night’s rest. A recommended dosage is 500mg per day.
Overall, the ingredients used are solid. I worry that we have too much Phenibut here. As I mentioned earlier, if you take 1/2 dose, that gets you 900mg (which is still high) but then cuts down on your GABA to 1,500mg which is below the recommended dosage. This product will put you to sleep in 30-minutes or less. If you don’t set an alarm, you will sleep “long time.” I have heard a lot of stories about Phenibut with people that are not good. Plus, it has addictive tendencies, so be careful.
One thing you will notice while using this is that you will sweat a lot more during your sleep. There’s nothing wrong with you, it’s just the Phenibut.
If you’re looking for a sleep aid that works, then this is it. But again, be careful.

If you’ve ever had the Pineapple Dust Extreme then you already know what this tastes like. It doesn’t necessarily taste just like Pineapple, but it isn’t bad. The nice part about sleep aids is that you do not need a lot of water. You mix it in little water and chug down (you don’t want a gallon of water in you before you go to sleep…you could piss yourself – no joke).
This mixes fairly well. I have had other powdered sleep aids that mix better, but again, you drink this so quickly it really doesn’t matter. I suppose if you used 8-12oz of water you might get a better mix, but as I mentioned earlier, I don’t want a ton of water or liquids in my system when I use this.
For powders this is a good price. When you do this, however, you are cutting down on the dosage of the other important ingredient GABA. It’s a give and take game.
