Overview of Myoblox Loco
Loco is a solid pre-workout with a cool looking design. The profile is good, and looks powerful. While we have to call out the proprietary blend, we cannot deny that it works well. The energy and focus are in the “strong” area, without going overboard.
Loco is either a good product to have if you don’t care about pumps and simply want a good boost in energy and strength. The taste is good, the mixability is good, and the value is fair. Loco is worth buying at least once in your life.
Why You Should Trust Our Reviews
- EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more. - FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product. - INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do. - 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed Myoblox Loco on five categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at quality of protein used, amount and other ingredients involved in the making of this preworkout.
We then look at effectiveness. A high quality preworkout will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out Melon Drop.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 6-8oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. We use the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, the Ice Shaker.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of pre-workouts available on the market.
Ingredients Profile
Loco consists of two separate blends. The first one being the “Super Matrix”, with the other being the “Magic Matrix”. The Super Matrix is the ergogenic/performance portion of Loco, while the Magic Matrix is more so a stim blend. Let’s break each one down separately. We will be going to the 2 scoop dosage.
Super Matrix
The first ingredient is Betaine Anhydrous at a whopping 6 grams. Betaine Anhydrous has been shown to increase power output with doses as little as 2.5 grams. So you’re getting a solid dose at one scoop, and a loaded dose at 2 scoops. The next ingredient is Beta-Alanine at 4 grams. Beta-Alanine is a precursor to Carnosine, which buffers lactic acid during endurance exercises. Since it is a saturation based ingredient, so while it’s nice to have in a pre-workout (if you don’t mind the paraesthesia), you should still be supplementing with Beta-Alanine on your off days. At 4 grams in Loco, it is dosed well.
Last ingredient is Taurine at 4 grams. Taurine is known to increase blood flow, aid in hydration, and increase performance. At one scoop, we get 2 grams of Taurine, which is a solid dose, and 2 scoops gives you 4 grams, which is higher than any pre-workout we have seen on the market. Either way, as we’ll get into, it’s effective.
One thing we have to note, is that there are no pump ingredients in here. Not even Citrulline. This isn’t a bad thing, as it makes Loco quite stackable, and perhaps prevents it from being expensive.
Magic Matrix
This is the sitm blend of Loco, and is most likely what you are going to “feel” from this product. The one issue we have to call out from the start, is that it is in a proprietary blend. While we don’t hate proprietary blends when it comes to stim blends (provided caffeine is given), we still have to mention it.
The blend consists of 2610mg when you take two scoops. The first ingredient is Tyrosine, which is good as you need anywhere from 750mg-1500mg to get an effective dose. The first ingredient of a proprietary blend means it is the highest dosed ingredient in it. Also, the The next ingredient is RealCaf™, a natural source of Caffeine from Non-GMO Green Coffee Beans. This one we do know how much we have in here, and each scoop gives you 200mg of Caffeine per serving, so 400mg at the max dose, which is at the higher end. Either way, no complaints here.
The next ingredient is Mucuna Pruriens, which is a natural source of L-Dopa, a precursor to Dopamine. We do not know how much is in here however it has a 98% standardization for L-Dopa, so we can assume we are getting a good amount of it in here. Following this, comes an ingredient we really wish would not be in this blend. ElevATP® is an ingredient that is known to help your body produce more ATP (the energy currency of your cells). The recommended dose of elevATP® is 150mg. While it could very well be dosed correctly in this blend, we have no idea. Either way, it’s a solid ingredient, just wish this was out of the Magic Blend.
The next 3 ingredients are Synephrine, Halostachine, and Hordenine HCl. Synephrine is a solid ingredient that acts as a beta-agonist in your body. It can aid in energy and may even help with fat loss. While we don’t know how much is in here, you need roughly 50mg-100mg to get an effect, so it could very well be dosed well. Halostachine is a source of beta-hydroxy-phenethylamine, a PEA. Hordenine HCl is a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. Both of these exotic stimulants are nice to see, however we don’t know the amounts of either, although they could both very well be dosed well.
Finally, we come to the last 3 ingredients, which are N-Methyltyramine, Huperzine A, and BioPerine. N-methyltyramine is a derivative of Tyrosine and it plays a part in regulating blood pressure. Huperzine A is a common ingredient for pre-workouts and nootropics, as it prevents acetylcholine from being broken down in the brain. Huperzine is typically dosed in micrograms, and it is most likely well-dosed in here.
As for the BioPerine, it is black pepper extract. To put it simply, it may increase the bioavailability of certain ingredients. At 15mg per serving, it is dosed well.
So overall the profile, while we have to say we do not like the proprietary blend, it could very well be that all of the ingredients in the blend are dosed well. The ergogenic ingredients are dosed well, and even quite high at 2 scoops, making this product quite versatile.
Effectiveness
For the most part, we went with 1.5-2 full scoops of Loco. Our experience is pretty much what we expected. The energy from Loco is powerful, however not overbearing. While 2 scoops isn’t exactly “clean energy”, it’s not exactly a cracked out feeling either. It’s somewhere in the middle of those two feelings. It’s strong, but not out of control would be the best way to put it.
There are no real pump ingredients in Loco, so we can’t really comment on that aspect. As for the focus, it’s a solid aspect to Loco as well. Focusing on the next set was no problem, vs letting the mind wander off. Better focus led to better mind-muscle connection, which made the experience with Loco enjoyable.
We expected to have some stomach issues with the high amount of Betaine and Taurine, however that was not the case. We’re not sure if it was the high-stim aspect, or the high-dose of Betaine, but there was a noticeable increase in strength on heavy compound exercises.
Overall, it is not for beginners, but if you’re experienced with pre-workouts you should enjoy this one.
Taste
Melon Drop:
We had the Melon Drop flavor. At first we were expecting a straight watermelon flavor, however there was more to it. This is a good thing as watermelon has been done to death. It’s more of a strawberry watermelon if anything. It’s on the sweeter side, however certainly not overly sweetened.
Mixability
Overall the mixability is quite good, and there is little to complain about. While there is a small amount of residue and it isn’t see through, it still doesn’t cause any issues and we did not experience any clumping.
We used the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, The Ice Shaker.
Check out the video above for a full mixability test.
Value
You can get Loco for $45 from various retailers. Which will get you anywhere from 18-36 servings depending on how many scoops you use per workout. This is not a bad deal overall, as 2 scoops will cost you over $2 per serving. Many will be fine with using just one scoop per workout, so it can be a good deal. If you use 2 scoops, we’d say it’s more of a pre-workout that you keep in your pantry for days where you really want some strong energy.
