Testing Results and Ratings
We reviewed Performax Labs VasoMax on five categories. We first start by looking at its ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the stim-free pre-workout supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.
We then look at effectiveness. An effective stim-free pre-workout product will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that pre-workout will be.
Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Orange Mango.
Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 6-8oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. We use the Official Shaker Cup of Fitness Informant, the Ice Shaker.
Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of stim-free pre-workout products on the market.
Ingredients Profile
To start, this profile has 3 blends. The Pump and Nitric Oxide Blend, the Nootropic Blend, and the Absorption Enhancement.
The first ingredient in VasoMax is GlycerSize™. GlycerSize is a trademarked form is Glycerol Monostearate that is 65% Glycerol. Glycerol is commonly added to pump products and pre-workouts, as is helps with cellular hydration. Proper hydration is a huge part of pumps as it is, and this is certainly something you are going to feel from VasoMax. At 5 grams, you are getting a great dose. Following that is Taurine at 2500mg. Taurine is an ingredient we love seeing in pre-workouts, as it aids with hydration and can help with blood flow. It’s actually great for preventing cramps at the gym as well. At 2.5 grams it is dosed well.
Next we have Vaso6™, which is certainly another powerhouse in this product. It is derived from Green Tea Extract, and to keep it oversimplified, provides antioxidants which aid with nitric oxide production, and acts as a vasorelaxant. At 300mg, it is at the clinical dose. The last ingredient in this blend is S7™, which is a blend of antioxidants which may aid with pumps. While we are not solid on this ingredient, it is at a solid dose with VasoMax providing 100mg.
The Nootropic blend starts off with AlphaZone™, which is Alpha GPC. This is a form of Choline with good bioavailability. Choline converts to Acetylcholine in the brain, which is a neurotransmitter. While you usually want to see this at 300mg, there is Huperzine A in here, and having too much of either can cause brain fog. Huperzine A prevents choline from being broken down in the brain, and at 10mg at a 1% extract, is dosed well.
The last ingredient in the Nootropic Blend is KannaEase™, which can help with focus and prevent anxiety. At 25mg, it is dosed well in VasoMax. The last ingredient, and the only ingredient in the Absorption Enhancement part of VasoMax is AstraGin®, which aids with the absorption of ingredients. At 50mg, it is dosed well.
VasoMax has a solid profile, and what’s impressive is that there are no real overlapping ingredients. Everything is well dosed and this is a profile that should appeal to supplement nerds everywhere.
Effectiveness
VasoMax, just like the rest of the Performax line, is quite effective and certainly delivers. To start, we have to say we’re impressed, although not really surprised that VasoMax delivers on pumps, despite the lack of Citrulline, which many have told us you must have in a pump product for it to be effective.
The pumps from VasoMax are noticeable, and while not overpowering, enjoyable. Even on a lower caloric diet, our user was able to notice an increased pump, as well as some endurance to boot. There is a noticeable increase in vascularity as well as just overall look. Of course, looking big in the gym isn’t everything, but it is a nice aspect of course.
As for the focus aspect, it is noticeable as well. Even when combining VasoMax with a stim based pre-workout, the Kanna seems to aid with a zen like feel, and the combination of AlphaZone and Huperzine add a bit of a boost to focus.
Overall, VasoMax delivers a solid pump and focus. Although not the strongest pumps on the market, it is still easily one of the better ones out there.
Taste
Orange mango:
We had the Orange Mango flavor and it is very enjoyable. We did a whole video on the profile and commented on the flavor, and it is true to the name. It’s refreshing and not overly sweet, but it should still satisfy your sweet tooth for sure. This is certainly a flavor you want to drink on its own.
Mixability
The mixability is quite good actually. The only thing noticeable is the high amount of Glycerol Monostearate, which gives this a bit of a chalky texture, which is expected. Some might actually find this enjoyable, including our user.
