Overview of REPP Sports Hyper Sleep

REPP Sports has been reviewed time and time again here at FI. They make more “hardcore” products for those in the supplement game. That includes their debut sleep aid Hyper Sleep. We’re big fans of sleep aids, and they serve a huge purpose in our gains.

Hyper Sleep is a well done sleep aid at a very nice value. Equipped with Phenibut and Melatonin is just one positive but also getting 1g GABA and 500mg Theanine is just a nice added bonus. Hyper Sleep will help you fall to sleep and improve your gains while doing so.

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed REPP Sports Hyper Sleep on five categories. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this sleep aid supplement. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.

We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

After that, we tackle taste. Taste is judged on two parts. One, does it taste like the label name and two, how does it taste? The flavor we were able to test was Sour Gummy.

Then we judge the sleep aid on mixability. The mixability test is how well does the powder dissolve in 8-12oz of water in a Blender Bottle.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of sleep aid supplements on the market.

Ingredients Profile

Hyper Sleep starts out with 1,000mg (1g) of GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid). GABA helps relieve anxiety and improve your overall mood, while promoting lean muscle growth. Optimal dosage is between 3,000-5,000mg. As you can see, this does come in quite a bit less than the optima dosage.

Hyper Sleep gives us 1g L-Glycine. L-Glycine, per WebMD, helps those with sleep problems get a good night’s sleep. Average dosages on the low end are 1-3g.

Phenibut, a favorite of ours, is dosed at 750mg. Phenibut aids in sleep, stress reduction and relieves anxiety. It is a really nice ingredient, but it can be addictive. Being dosed at 750mg is correct, in my opinion as it is not too much and not too small. Others on the market dosed there’s well over 1g, some even over 2g!

L-Theanine is a nice addition at 500mg. L-Theanine is known as the the relaxation amino acid. This is typically dosed around 100-200mg with caffeine, but as a standalone ingredient, 500mg is acceptable.

We get 100mg of Mucana Pruriens. This produces L-DOPA in the body, which allows you to focus and ease into a good night’s rest. A recommended dosage is 500mg per day.

Lastly, they toss in 5mg Melatonin. This helps us sleep better.

Overall, great profile. I would like to see GABA dosed higher to promote gains while we sleep but the other ingredients work well at their dosages to ensure a nice night’s sleep.

REPP Sports Hyper Sleep label

The purpose of a sleep aid is to help you get a deep REM sleep. Hyper Sleep does just that. It may not have the GABA dosage we’d want, but at the end of the day this isn’t a muscle builder, it is a sleep aid. It does exactly that.

*Caution: Phenibut has some addictive tendencies, do not use every night.

Sour Gummy: (7/10)

Probably not the exact flavor of something I want to drink before bed, but it works. Sour Gummy was sour. So to the point of the flavor on the label, it’s on-point. Overall, it was OK. Too sour for me, personally, especially at bedtime, but if you’re a candy person before bed, you’ll love this!

A small serving size of 7.9g ends up mixing very well in limited water to drink down before bed. You don’t want to mix in a lot of water as you want to limit your water intake.

Compared to other sleep aids, this is one of the more reasonably priced ones. For $40 you get 25 servings of a SAFE Phenibut dosed sleep aid. That’s a big key for me. I would have liked to see GABA dosed higher, but 750mg of Phenibut is what you should take to get a good night’s sleep. The addition of Theanine, Glycine and Melatonin help as well.

You can take just straight Phenibut pills from REPP, but if you want to muscle building capabilities of GABA and ZMA, you want to take a look right here.
