Overview of Arms Race Nutrition Replenish

Arms Race Nutrition is a new brand attached to fitness influencer Julian Smith. The brand has some really intelligent people behind it included Doug Miller and Kenton Engle. The formulas are awesome and the brand is doing cool things.

Arms Race Nutrition Replenish is a full spectrum amino acid product featuring a 6g 4:1:1 BCAA ratio and 4g of the other six EAAs to make a 10g serving that aids in muscle recovery. This is an impressive formula that is utilizing BCAAs but not making it formula dominant, something that is rarely seen in this space. We're fans of Replenish for someone who needs an amino acid product to aid in muscle recovery and growth. Replenish is one of the more impressive EAA formulas on the market today.

Why You Should Trust Our Reviews

  • EXPERT REVIEW PANEL
Our review panel is made up of individuals with many years of experience in the sports nutrition industry, dating back to the early 2000’s. Their tenure gives them knowledge on brands, supplements, ingredients, dosages and more.
  • FULL CONTAINER REVIEWS
Unlike the majority of “review” sites on the internet, Fitness Informant reviews every supplement on a full-container basis. What does this mean? It means that a review is not written or recorded until the last serving of that product has been finished. We’ve all had products that were great for the first couple of days, but then lost their effectiveness shortly after. We want to ensure you are getting a full review based on a full product.
  • INGREDIENT EDUCATION
We breakdown each ingredient in our reviews to educate you on exactly what the ingredients do, and what is the proper dosage of each ingredient to effectively do what they are intended to do.
  • 100% HONEST – NO B.S. REVIEWS
Our number #1 priority is to inform you proper supplement selection through honest reviews. The majority of “review” sites on the internet will push you to buy a certain product based on the commissions they received. Not us. We want you to purchase the highest quality supplements at the best value. We put your health and wellness first. To achieve your goals we want you to use only the best supplements that you can afford. We do this by being honest.

Testing Results and Ratings

We reviewed Arms Race Nutrition Replenish on five categories. We first start by looking at its ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in this amino acid supplement, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective amino acid product will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that amino product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Tart Candy Strings.

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12-16 oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Another part of value are the competitors and other versions of BCAA/EAA products on the market.

Ingredients Profile

(9.2/10)Arms Race Nutrition Replenish Label

The truth is that some of the “full spectrum” amino acid products on the market today are heavy on BCAAs and maybe sprinkle in some EAAs (BCAAs are EAAs for the record). With Replenish from Arms Race Nutrition we are getting nice doses of both BCAAs and EAAs. Both the BCAAs and EAAs are vegan derived, which means they do not come from animal carcass, fur, beaks or feathers. This is a good thing.

We start with a 4:1:1 BCAA ration featuring 4g Leucine (for mTOR activation), 1g Isoleucine and 1g Valine. We are fans of a 2:1:1 or a 4:1:1 ratio, but anything higher we feel it is marketing since Leucine is the cheapest of the three BCAAs. This is leucine heavy to activate mTOR for muscle recovery. We are good with this. This is also a nice dose of BCAAs.

We then get 4g of the other EAAs. Yes, all six are included here, while some companies may leave one or two out. The 4g dosage is big. We have seen 2-3g, but nothing as high as 4g.

Overall, this a solid profile that is well-balanced between BCAAs and EAAs. If you’re fasted this could be one of the better formulas to buy. EAAs work the best in a fasted state.

Effectiveness

(9.2/10)

Aminos are always interesting to rate on effectiveness because you don’t “feel” them working. They are there to aid in the muscle recovery process. The thing to look for is muscle soreness. This is also impacted by the length you’ve been training. If you’ve been training a long time, soreness may not be a big thing. With Arms Race Nutrition Replenish, DOMS or delayed onset muscle soreness, was essentially non-existent. The fact that the 4:1:1 ratio is there, and not overboard, plus the addition of 4g of the other EAAs says that this is going to be an effective amino acid product.

Taste

Tart Candy Strings: (8.5/10)

Tart Candy Strings is kind of hard to nail down what kind of flavor it is, but it is sweet, a little fruity and good. It isn’t as much tart as you’d think it would be, it was more sweet. There is that candy flavor that many people like. We were fans of it, but it was just hard to tell what it was. Keep in mind that EAAs are hard to flavor, so the fact that an enjoyable flavor comes through is a win.

Mixability

(8.5/10)

Amino acids are not soluble in water. This means that you are bound to have residue and particles floating, but it is not a big deal at all. You may need to shaker the shaker a couple times while consuming the EAAs, but we do this all the time. It is not chalky at all, which we’ve noticed with some other brands. Overall, this is still a good mixing amino acid product.

Value

(9.0/10)

A traditional BCAA/EAA product is around $1-$1.50 a serving. With Arms Race Nutrition Replenish we are getting 30-servings for $40 which is a fair price for the product. Having 6g BCAAs and 4g EAAs for a total of 10g serving is an awesome thing to have, and at only $40, you can’t go wrong.
