Pitbull Labs is a fairly new company in the sports nutrition field that is gaining a lot of steam, and rightfully so, because of the quality ingredients and products they are putting out. They put a NO B.S. logo on all their supplements because they do not believe in proprietary blends and have a 3rd party seal of approval on each of their products. In addition, a portion of their proceeds are donated to charitable organizations designed to re-home Pitbulls across North America. Supplement for a good cause.

Pitbull Labs BCAA is a solid BCAA product boosting 7g of 2:1:1 ration BCAA per serving along with extra ingredients to help with pump, recovery and fat loss. Pitbull Labs BCAA is more expensive than other straight BCAA products, but this is not just a BCAA product, but an all-in-one muscle recovery product containing high quality, key ingredients that justifies the price.

We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the amount of aminos used, as well as the kind of aminos, the ratio and other ingredients involved in the making of this BCAA powder.

We then look at effectiveness. A high BCAA product will be effective. This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Strawberry Kiwi.

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Ingredients Profile

Some BCAA products use gimmicks when it comes to their ratios (5:1:1 or 10:1:1). The fact is that the 2:1:1 ratio is still the proven best ratio for muscle recovery. BCAA from Pitbull Labs gives you 7g per serving of 2:1:1 ratio BCAAs sourced from vegan sources. What does that mean? That means you are not getting your aminos from bird feathers or human hair. This is also an impressive serving of BCAAs. You are getting 210g of BCAAs per container. A typical daily dosage of BCAAs is 15-20g. No company provides that per serving, which makes this one of the best BCAA servings for intra-workout on the market.

On top of the quality BCAAs you are getting, you also get the added benefit of L-Glutamine. L-Glutamine helps with muscle recovery (it was given to burn victims to increase their rate of healing initially). You get 2.5g of L-Glutamine. To put this into perspective, most recommend you supplement with 5g of L-Glutamine in addition to your protein powder. This is a solid dosage for an intra-workout.

Pitbull Labs goes a step further to provide 2g of Cittruline. This is not a pump product or a pre-workout. But I have seen pre-workouts with less of a serving of the ever popular Cittruline. Clinical dosage of this ingredient is 6g. You’re getting 1/3 of that in an intra-workout. This is real.

As if that was not enough, they give you 1g of L-Carnitine. This has been shown to increase oxygen levels in your body to allow your brain to send signals to commence fat loss. A lot of companies sell a L-Carnitine product dosed at 1g-3g. You’re getting a full dosage in an intra-workout. Solid.

The last ingredient is the increasingly popular 500mg of Coconut Water Powder. This is for hydration purposes. This is the typical dosage we see in this ingredient in this industry. You can buy this in bulk and you’d supplement it at a high dosage, but in this case this is fine.

Effectiveness

(10/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]As I noted earlier, the typical daily dosage of BCAAs is around 15-20g (200lb person). You are getting 7g here. As far as effectiveness goes, this is as effective as you can get in one serving.

The addition of Glutamine also helps with muscle recovery and effectiveness.  The use of 2g of Cittruline shows in your muscle pumps. I use a pre-workout that has 6g of Cittruline and this additional 2g goes a long way. Something not a lot of companies offer in a BCAA produt, but something that makes this more valuable.

You cannot tell the L-Carnitine is working, it’s not an ingredient like Beta Alanine which gives your the tingly feeling.

Regarding hydration, the addition of the Coconut Powder works as you can tell you feel more refreshed and hydrated.

Mixability

This mixes better than a lot of pre-workouts that have less of a serving size. Pitbull Labs BCAA retails for just around $40 for 30-servings. That is $1.33 per serving. Much higher than most straight BCAA products.

It is extremely important to remember that you’re getting L-Glutamine, L-Cittruline, L-Carnitine and Coconut Water Powder along with 7g of fermented BCAAs (high quality). Ingredients Profile

One, you want to see where the protein is sourced from. In Chaos and Pain’s Cannibal Kraken protein powder, it is derived from whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. This is a blend. Whey protein concentrate is listed first on the ingredient list…therefore we know there is more whey protein concentrate than whey protein isolate. In fact, the company can put 23g of whey protein concentrate and only 1g (or less) of whey protein isolate and still put it on the label. I am always concerned when I see a blend. In this case, you are getting 24g total of the blend.

​Regarding the type of protein used, most companies are not going to disclose the quality of whey protein concentrate. We know that whey protein isolate is at least 90% protein. Whey protein concentrate can be as low as 34%. This is where a lot of companies cut costs in an effort to pad the bottom line. I am not at all saying that is being done here, I know the owner of Chaos and Pain and I would hope he wouldn’t do that.

The second thing you want to look for is how much of your actual serving is protein. You figure this out by dividing the protein per serving by the total serving. In this case, you’d take 24g of protein divided by 31g serving size. This is 77.4% of protein per serving, meaning that 22.6% of a serving is other stuff (carbs, sugars, fats, etc).

All-in-all the profile is very similar to others on the market. I did like Strawberry Cheesecake, but at 5 pounds, for me, it was too much. I really liked this blended with ice as a later night snack. Ingredients Profile

(7/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Chaos and Pain’s Cannibal Ferox, as mentioned earlier, is a high stim pre-workout designed to effectively fuel your workout and push you through thresholds. The pre-workout has ingredients that target focus, pump and energy.

The product starts with 4g of L-Cittruine Malate. The clinical dosing of L-Cittruline is 6g. We come up just a tad short here, but compared to a lot of other pre-workouts on the market this is dosed well. I would have liked to see a full 6g, but I can deal with 4g. L-Cittruline will help with blood flow and increasing your pump.

We do get the clinical dosage of Beta Alanine at 3.2g. Beta Alanine has been shown in studies to increase strength and endurance.

Next we get 2g of Creatine Monohydrate.​ Honestly, I could do without this. The effective dosing of Creatine Monohydrate is 5g. I feel anytime Creatine Monohydrate is included in a PWO, it should be at the full 5g or nothing. In my personal preference, I would rather supplement separately with Creatine Monohydrate post-workout than have it included in my pre-workout. Creatine helps with strength gains and endurance.

At 1.5g of Betaine Anhydrous we are just shy of the clinical dosage of 2.5g. ​This ingredient has been shown to increased power output. Per Examine.com, this should be dosed at 1.25g twice a day to be effective (2.5g).

Regarding focus, you get N Acetyl L Tyrosine at 500mg. This is a typical dosage of L Tyrosine. According to WebMD, for improved alertness dosing at 150mg per day is efficient. ​

The big ingredient most of us will recognize is Caffeine. Cannibal Ferox is dosed at 450mg of Caffeine Anyhyrous. This is a lot of Caffeine. Keep in mind a cup of coffee is 95mg. Do the math. This is almost 5 cups of coffee! If you like Caffeine then this is great for you. At 450mg this is essentially too much Caffeine for the every day person, but if you’re a stim junkie then you’ll love this.​

The next ingredient is Orchilean at 125mg. Orchilean, according to MassiveJoes.com, is a herb that helps the body adapt to highly stressful situations aka increase endurance. The effective dosage is 100-150mg. ​

Isopropylnorsynephrine is dosed at 35mg in Cannibal Ferox. Per the National Center for Biotechnology Information, ​Isopropylnorsynephrine is a strong lipolytic agent. It’s the strongest agent in Bitter Orange. There are not any credible studies that show optimal dosage of this. This is the same ingredient found in Liopdrene.

Halostachine is dosed at 50mg. This ingredient is similar to ephedrine. ​It raises thermogenesis without raising your blood pressure and heart rate. Studies are insufficient at this point for optimal dosage.

​Hordenine is another fat burning ingredient found in Cannibal Ferox at 50mg. No credible studies are available on optimal dosage at this time.

Yohimbine is yet another fat burner. Cannibal Ferox has Yohimbine HCL at 2mg and Alpha Yohimbine at 1.5mg. Dosage varies based on goal.

Huperzine A is dosed at 0.2mg or 200mcg. This is on the high-end of optimal dosage per Examine.com. Huperzine A is a cognitive enhancing ingredient.

Overall, some of the ingredients are dosed nicely, and others just below the optimal levels. I could do without the 2g of Creatine Monohydrate, and I would move 450mg of Caffeine to 350mg. I would up the L-Cittruline to 6g and Betaine Anhydrous to 2.5g. I would also increase L-Tyrosine to 1g. Effectiveness

(8/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]When one serving of Cannibal Ferox equals the equivalent to 5 cups of coffee of course it is going to be effective for energy. There is a point of diminishing returns, and too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. I think 450mg is high. However, I am a stim freak so it sat well with me. If you’re in the same boat then you’d be OK with this. The issue with going with a 1/2 serving would be you’re cutting out other important ingredients.

Regarding focus, this isn’t bad. The L Tyrosine is nice, along with Huperzine A. The 450mg of Caffeine will also contribute to this. I have had nootropic based pre-workouts with better focus, but I have had pre-workouts with no focus activity at all.

For pump we are gifted with 4g of L-Cittruline. I will admit I feel like I get a better pump with products that contain 6g of L-Cittruline or other pump enhancing ingredients like Agmatine Sulfate or Hydromax. L-Cittruline is really the only blood pumper in this.

Overall, this product is SUPER effective for energy and strength output. Focus is better than most, but also not the best. Cannibal Ferox gives you 25-servings for less than $40. Your cost per serving is less than $1.50. You do need to understand that you are receiving solid dosages in some ingredients and others that are not quite there, but not a huge difference to pay the $.50 more per serving. Had this product included 6g of L-Citrruline and maybe another cognitive enhancing ingredient then this would be a 5-star value product. We’re damn close, but not quite there. We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the different ingredients used in the pre-workout, what their intention is and how effectively dosed are each ingredient.

We then look at effectiveness. An effective pre-workout will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Then we move into the taste of the different flavors we’ve tried. We grade each flavor separately and average the scores for their overall taste rating. We were able to test out the following flavors: Blue Rock Candy.

Mixability refers to how well the powder mixes in 12oz of water. We use the shaker bottle test. This would be your typical Blender Bottle with the spiral chrome ball.

Ingredients Profile

TRU Pre first starts with 6g of Cittruline Malate. According to Examine.com, Cittruline Malate improves athletic performance in both aerobic and anaerobic exercises. It also helps increase arginine levels in your body which products NO, which leads to a great pump. Clinical dosing is 6g, which means this is clinically dosed.

We then get 6g of the proven 2:1:1 ratio BCAA. BCAAs consist of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. BCAAs have been proven to reduce fatigue and increase your recovery time. I am not a huge proponent of BCAAs prior to lifting, or taking up room in a PWO, but if you’re going to use it, at least it is an effective dose.

After that 23 get 3.2g of Beta Alanine. Beta Alanine has been shown to increase strength output. It is clinically dosed at 3.2g, which means we are clinically dosed here again. 

The next ingredient is Hydromax, one of my favorites. This is dosed at 1.5g. This is a good dosing of Hydromax which has been shown to increase fluid levels in your muscle. What does this do? It increases your time to exhaustion while increasing blood flow to your muscles. This increases your pump, which in-turn, increases muscle size.

We then get Betaine Anhydros. This has been shown to increase strength output and endurance. Recommended dosage is around 2.5g. This comes in at 1.5g.​

Taurine comes in at 1g. Taurine has been shown in studies to improve muscle strength and endurance. Dosing for Taurine is between 500mg and 2g. We typically see it around 500mg-1g. Solid dosing here.

The next several ingredients help with cognitive functions. Acetyl-L-Tyrosine is dosed at 500mg. This is typical. Tyrosine has been shown to increase alertness. Choline Bitartrate is also dosed at 500mg. Again, typical. This has been shown to improve memory function.

Caffeine comes in at 350mg. This was surprising to me from NutraKey. Not in a bad way, but I thought it would come in less. I was pleasantly surprised. We also get 5mg of Black Pepper Extract which helps with absorption. The last ingredient is Huperzine A which is dosed at 50mcg. This helps with cognitive functionality.

Effectiveness

In fact, I would take this at 5am for my morning workouts, and in the beginning I didn’t realize a serving was 2-scoops. I was able to get a great pump and solid energy off of 1/2 of a serving (1-scoop). There were days, big muscle group days like back/legs, where I could tell I was lacking, but that was mostly because I was only on one scoop.

At two scoops you are getting the clinically dosed ingredients you need when powering through a workout. TRU Pre delivers a solid pump and good energy. The one area I would like to see more emphasis would be in the cognitive section. I do like Choline Bitartrate a lot, but I like the form of Alpha-GPC better for Choline. When you have a bigger serving size you require more water for solubility. Overall, the mixability was good. The one thing keeping me away from a perfect value is the 6g of BCAAs and the use of more cognitive enhancing ingredients. Ingredients Profile

CGP stands for Creatine – Glycerol – Phosphate. Each serving is 10g. Does this mean you’re getting 10g of Creatine per serving? No. You are getting 10g of Potassium, ALA, Magnesium, Calcium and Sodium. All these yield 10g of CGP.

Why have Creatine with Glycerol and Phosphate? In theory, Glycerol is going to help with Creatine uptake. When Creatine was first starting to be used in the sports field, it was recommended that it needed to be mixed with a sugary drink to increase uptake. This is true per studies. Sugar ingestion with Creatine will help increase uptake into the muscles. We see the reason behind it here. However, recent studies have shown that Creatine Monohydrate mixed with protein powders has about the same yield of uptake into the muscles. See our entire Creatine 101 article for more info.

Creatine Phosphate helps with ATP reproduction in the body. When they body first uses ATP for energy, it gets it first from the ATP/CP Energy Pathway. ATP loses a molecule of Phosphate to produce energy while lifting. ATP then becomes ADP. In order to get ADP back to ATP it needs a new Phosphate molecule. Your body gets this Phosphate molecule from Creatine Phosphate. The result is a new unit of ATP and a unit of Creatine. What does this mean? The Creatine Phosphate portion of this supplement helps create new ATP while getting creatine to your muscles.

Overall it is a solid profile, however we are not a big fan of the “complex.” Due to this, we are unsure how how much Creatine your body is actually getting per serving. Effectiveness

Did it help with recovery? Sure. But we also took BCAAs with it. Did it help with energy/ATP production? In theory it should have, but we like to take our Creatine post-workout.

Based on the concept of the supplement it should be effective. As effective as 5g of Creatine Monohydrate? Not sure. Mixability

Mixability was good. We are talking about 10g of powder, and using Creatine which does not fully dissolve in water. This combination is bound to leave residue in the shaker cup, even after vigorously shaking. It is not unbearable by any means, but we’ve had micronized Creatine and Creatine HCI that dissolved better into liquids.

Sinister Labs includes both whey and rice protein to bring up the levels of protein per serving. Compare this to the national brand Justin’s, which only has 7g of protein per serving.

A popular choice among these spreads are the caffeinated versions. They include 40mg of caffeine per serving. For a point of reference, a cup of coffee contains approximately 90mg of caffeine. The caffeinated versions are great, but you may want to avoid during your late night snack.

Now onto the main ingredients that spreads are typically made of. Sinister Labs does start with peanuts or almonds (depending on which version you buy). They do add in Palm Oil and Canola Oil. These are healthy fats which can contribute positively to your gains. Some versions include honey for a sweetener and for flavor.

The one area that I wish wasn’t part of these is the added sugars. About 4g of sugars are added per serving. However, in order to make a great tasting spread we understand that the use of sugar is needed. With total sugars around 5g, we can live with this.

They beat out the competition by quite a bit. We’ve tried Buff Bake Spreads and were not a fan of the flavors.

Our favorite flavor was the Wicked White Chocolate. Chocolate Craze tastes a lot like Nutella. Chocolate Chaos is different than Chocolate Craze, but not by a ton. The big difference there is Chocolate Chaos is almond butter, while Chocolate Craze is peanut butter. The Honey Grim Cracker is good too, and it does taste a lot like graham crackers.

With the addition of rice and whey protein you can expect this to happen. Just add whey protein to your normal peanut butter at home, you can see exactly what I am talking about.

​The “grainyness” isn’t bad. You can just tell after you’re done eating that it feels like there is something stuck to the bottom of your teeth.

​Overall, the texture of the spreads, both peanut butter and almond, are very smooth. They are not chunky at all (no chunky version available…yet). These retail for just over $1/ounce. You can get a 12oz jar for just over $12. Compared to other “premium” spreads like Buff Bake, these are also more expensive. Buff Bake comes in around $9 for 13oz. So there is a premium here.

The thing to keep in mind is there is the added protein and the added caffeine (if you want it). The kicker here is the taste. This makes it all worth the investment. I suggest you give it a try and see for yourself. Are there other versions out there that are cheaper? Sure. Are there better versions out there? We first start by looking at it’s ingredient profile. This portion of the review looks at the ingredients used in the making of this sleep aid supplement. We look into each ingredients effective use and determine if it was a quality selection for the product.

We then look at effectiveness. This is generally an extension of the profile and dosage section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

After that, we tackle taste. Taste is judged on two parts. One, does it taste like the label name and two, how does it taste? The flavor we were able to test was Lemonberry Nectar.

Then we judge the sleep aid on mixability. The mixability test is how well does the powder dissolve in 8-12oz of water in a Blender Bottle.

Finally, we talk about value. Value is the combination of profile, effectiveness, taste and mixability in relation to cost. Ingredients Profile

(8.5/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Hypnos starts out with Phenibut at 500mg. Compared to RedCon1’s Fade Out, this is 50% dosed to that. This isn’t a bad thing. There are no clinical research studies showing the optimal amount, but over-the-counter products contain anywhere from 250mg to 1g, which means 500mg is right in the middle. You want to be cautious with Phenibut. Too much can have adverse effects. Although we like Fade Out, 1g might be too much for most people. With 500mg you can adjust accordingly. Phenibut is typically used to treat stress and anxiety. It is a calming agent which helps you sleep.

Next Hypnos contains 500mg of GABA. Fade Out contains 1g, so again we are dosed at 50% of Fade Out. GABA helps metabolize growth hormone. As many of us know, growth hormone production is the highest when we sleep. Per Examine.com, the optimal levels of GABA per day are 3-5g. Although this is not clinically dosed, it still helps with the metabolism of GH.

ZMA is a commonly used supplement for sleep aid and it is a combination of zinc monomethionine/asparate and magnesium aspartate. Hynos contains both. Hypnos contains 250mg of Magnesium Aspartate (more than RedCon1) and 30mg of Zinc (more than RedCon1). Both of these ingredients have been proven to help muscle recovery and aiding in achieving REM.

Valerian Root Extract is also used at 200mg. This is a common ingredient used in sleep aids as well. This is frequently combined with Hops, which Hynos contains at 50mg. Hops are a sedative which helps you sleep.

L-Dopa is used at 50mg in Hynos too. L-Dopa is use to increase Dopamine levels in the body. This is a “feel good” agent. This reduces stress levels and allows us to relax and obtain peaceful sleep. Proper dosage varies depending on the goal Most people supplement with it during the day, at night you won’t need as much.

Passion Flower 10:1 is used at 30mg. Passion Flower is also used to treat sleep disorders like insomnia. Dosage varies but tablets of this are up to 90mg. At 30mg it it not as high as a tablet, but you’re also combining it with a lot of other sleep agents.

Lastly, you are getting 1.5mg of Melatonin. This is one of the most popular sleep aids on the market. I have seen this as high as 5mg. This is lower than others. Fade Out uses 5mg…but again 5mg might be too much for one person.

Overall I like this profile. It uses some different ingredients you don’t find in other sleep aids. Effectiveness

(8.5/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]I don’t typically have a hard time sleeping, but I do have a lot on my mind at times. Also, when I have had long days and I know I am only going to be getting 6 hours of sleep or so, I want that sleep to matter. Hynos put me into a deep sleep every time. Within 10-15 minutes of taking Hynos I was out.

We all wake up in the middle of the night to relieve ourselves in the bathroom. When you take Hynos you don’t. No, you don’t pee the bed, you just don’t wake up in the middle of the night. Hypnos does a great job of getting you to REM.

When you wake up in the morning you do not feel groggy. It takes a second to get out of bed, but once you do you feel refreshed and amazing. It helps aid in muscle recovery too so your body feels great.

Overall, this was one of my favorite sleep aids. It’s not too much, and it’s definitely not a little.

Of all the sleep aids I have used, this was the best tasting one. We had Lemonberry Nectar and it was delicious. It tasted like candy. I could take this with water, or just straight and chase it with water, and it was awesome. You’ll love it.

On-top-of tasting fantastic, it mixed awesome as well. The particles are micronized so they dissolved into the water very nicely. Unlike other sleep aids, there is hardly any residue left behind.

That puts this at $40 for 40-servings. This is going to be a little more expensive than the competition. It also is dosed less on Phenibut and GABA. However, overall, the combination of all the ingredients makes this one helluva sleep aid that I really enjoy. If you can find this on sale (10-20% off) then it is one heck of a deal. Ingredients Profile

I say greens because it is not all what we would consider vegetables. On top of that, you are also getting 100% of your daily intake on certain vitamins (Vitamin A, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, D3 and K1). 

GAIA contains five different sources of fruits. You get Pineapple Juice Powder (also contains Bromelain which is used for reducing inflammation), Bilberry, Papaya, Camu Camu and Monk Fruit. Pineapple Juice Powder might not have a ton of benefits, but the other four do. Bilberry, per WebMD, is used in medicines to improve eye sight, improve chronic fatigue and improving blood flow. Papaya (also included in this is Papain) has been shown to help breakdown proteins for your body to use. Camu Camu has more Vitamin C than any other food on the planet and it is used to treat viral infections like the common cold. Monk Fruit is typically used as natural sweetener but has been used to treat lung congestion.

GAIA contains three vegetable sources. The first is Broccoli Extract. Then you get Carrot Powder. Finally you get Purple Sweet Potato. All the health benefits you get from these are in powder form for you to consume.

GAIA also contains FOS (Fructooligosaccharide), which is found in foods like onion, garlic and bananas. FOS, according to the NCBI, is used in a lot of foods as a prebiotic to help with digestion.  ​

GAIA contains a source of algae in Chlorella. Chlorella is used to increase good bacteria in the body, help fight against cancer, reduce cholesterol and more. It is an antioxidant used to improve overall health.

GAIA also includes Calcium Pyruvate, which helps with weight loss and obesity and Acai, which has antioxidant properties.

Effectiveness

Unlike a pre-workout supplement, you don’t really “feel” the effects of this taking place in your body. My overall health while taking GAIA was great. I took it at the end of summer. I did not experience any changes in body temperature, any congestion in my chest, no head colds or chest colds or no illnesses what-so-ever.

My diet did not contain enough greens at the time, so I choose to use GAIA. The fact is the Monk Fruit used in this as a benefit to your health also helps sweeten the drink. The mango peach was solid. It masked out any taste you’d expect to have…especially when you’re drinking something containing algae. GAIA mixed very well. I would have some purple residue left over after drinking it, but you need to remember we are talking about dried foods here, they will not be fully water soluble. If you consume enough fruits and greens in your whole foods diet then you would not need this. This becomes more valuable to those who DO NOT consumer enough fruits and greens. This is something you can take with you on the go and drink on the run. A 30-serving container retails for $39.99 online. If you can find a sale on it then it becomes more valuable.

There are competitors out there that retail for $29.99, with the same fruits and greens concept. However, those formulas do not contain as much as this. Does that justify a $10 difference? I don’t believe it does, but as I mentioned earlier, if you can get a coupon for 10-20% off (you will find sales) then this is a solid selection for your fruits and greens. We then look at effectiveness. An effective pre-workout will use high quality, proven ingredients, at clinically backed dosages.  This is generally an extension of the profile section. The higher quality ingredients used at proper dosages, the more effective that product will be.

Ingredients Profile

(1/10)[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]One of the worst things I can see in any supplement is a proprietary blend. The second worst thing I can see comes in a pre-workout supplement, seeing a proprietary blend with very little dosage (4000mg) and the first ingredient being Creatine Monohydrate. There is nothing wrong with the ingredients used in this pre-workout. Where the issue comes is the amount.

Clinical studies have proven that an effective dose of Creatine Monohydrate is 5g. That is more than this whole prop blend. Even at two scoops this would most likely still be under dosed. Creatine, when dosed effectively, helps contribute to strength output.

L-Cittruline is a go-to ingredient used in pre-workout and provides a nice pump…when dosed correctly. Clinical dosing of L-Cittruline is 6g. Between L-Cittruline and Creatine we would be at 11g (almost 3x this prop blend) for clincal dosing.

L-Tyrosine is used for focus. It works well when dosed correctly (between 500-2,000mg), again, this would be under dosed. Beta Alanine, the “tingly” ingredient, is effectively dosed at 3.2g. Taurine helps with endurance and strength. This is effectively dosed at 500-2,000mg as well. Beet Root is supposed to contribute to NO production providing a pump. Because of where this ingredient lies in the prop blend you can be assured you’re not getting enough to get the positive impact.

The last three ingredients of the matrix are Caffeine Anhydrous, Theanine and Di-Caffeine Malate. This is for energy and reducing your crash. These show up last. A typical pre-workout has 250mg of Caffeine in it. Based on all the other ingredients you can be pretty certain that this is very little of these three ingredients.

That was just the “energy, strength and focus” blend. Now we get to the test boosting blend.  Much like KO, their test booster, this is extremely under dosed. This prop blend contains 400mg of five ingredients. The first ingredient is Tribulus. An effective dose of Tribulus, according to Examine.com, is 200-450mg per day. This ingredient, at minimum, would take up 50% of the dosage. D-Aspartic Acid, a very popular ingredient used in test boosting agents, is used second. A standard dosage of DAA should be around 2g per day. Another popular ingredient that stands out is Fenugreek. Fenugreek should be dosed between 500-600mg for effectiveness. I think you can understand the point I am getting at here.

Overall this product has a poor, under dosed profile. Effectiveness

The product tester has used some hardcore pre-workouts in the past, but it has been some time since he has used any pre-workout at all. Just to clear the air, his prior PWOs did not contain DMAA or DMHA.

This is a direct quote from him, “this pre didn’t give me over-the-top energy like others I’ve tried; was a bit weak actually. You don’t get the heart pounding out of your chest with this, which isn’t a bad thing. Maybe my dosage was low, but I usually do one scoop with other PWOs and feel myself ready to go.  This was not the case with this pre-workout.”

If this was his feedback, then I can imagine this would have been like Kool-Aid for a guy like me.

You would have to take probably 3-scoops of this, to get an 18 gram serving size, to get any effect on this. If you take a hardcore pre-workout now you might even go to 4. If we’re talking 3-scoops for any clinical dosing that would put you at 13 servings for around $32.
